I emailed C&C via the Angie's List website and received an almost instant call back. Scheduling was quick, evaluation and estimate were also quick and fair. Eventually work was done on all units which needed repairing. Everything was explained in detail and price was definitely fair. Everyone involved from start to finish was polite and friendly. I will be using them for all my future heating and A/C needs!

They found a loose wire and fixed it. Now everything is working properly. I called them for a second opinion. The first guy (not C & K) said everything was working fine. I didn't believe him so I searched on Angie's List for someone rated highly to see what they thought of my heating system. I am so grateful for C & K. Also, like the other reviews said the lady on the phone was very nice. C & K came out the same day...about an hour or so after I first called them! This has been a nightmare, solved with one phone call! Also, the repair man was very knowledgable and didn't mind explaining everything to me as he worked. After dealing with this for several months, I had a lot of questions. Again, they did a great job for a reasonable fee. It is rare to find such a good company in Memphis.

We checked at all the reviews and we looked at many things on the internet first. It’s a good company and they had all good ratings. They did perform service for us. They charged several hundred dollars. We were very satisfied with them. We have used them before and would use their services again in the future.

The service was good overall. I have had bad experience with air and heat services before where they wanted to put in a new unit when there was noting seriously wrong. They were honest with what was wrong and I really appreciated that.

Got two new furnaces from C&K. They had old ones removed and new ones installed and running in about six hours. They were very efficient and left everything clean. On top of that they were about $1,000 better than the other two companies I got quotes from. I'll use them again.

The workers that came out were very good. There were no complications at all. Everything’s holding up very well. In fact I have recommended them to other people that I know. They do a good job. We compared quite a bit of prices and they were very reasonably priced. They gave me several options and told me which one they thought was best for my house. They also told me what would be most cost effective, both in terms of what to install and the cost of running it. The owner was very good. He even called us after business hours to talk us through it and what was going to be done. Actually after they finished the installation, we noticed some water drooping outside and we noticed that there was one unit that was may be freezing up a little bit, and they came out immediately the next day. There was one pipe or something that was not quite turned right and so they were very attentive. I was very pleased with their service. We will absolutely use their services again in the future.

The C&K man looked the unit over, saw what was wrong, fixed it, and refilled all the lost coolant for less money than the other company was going to charge us for the coolant alone!!! That's a great 2nd opinion. The day he came to the house, he worked for 4 hours, often upside down inside the compressor, and sometimes in the pouring rain (he did take a break briefly when it began to thunder & lightning), and had the A/C completely restored when he left. Now you're not going to believe this (I can scarcely do so & I was there), but he came back the following afternoon on his own to make sure everything was still OK! I can't remember ever hearing of a service company checking back w/o being called.

My downstairs unit was not cooling well so I reviewed Angie's List for recommended HVAC companies. C & K seemed to be well reviewed. I called their office on Monday and setup an appointment for the next Thursday a.m. On Tuesday the downstairs unit stopped working completely. The outside lines were iced over, a sure sign the freon was low, so I turned the unit off. Luckily the temps had gone down to 'just' the lower 90's so our downstairs only got up to 77F over the next two days. On Thursday a.m. the C & K office called to confirm the appointment 30 mins later. The office was very polite and friendly both times I talked to them. The tech showed up on time and was friendly. I described the problem and he went outside to begin trouble-shooting. He determined that my downstairs system had a small freon leak, which he said the majority of the time is in the attic portion of the unit. He said on an 11 year old unit it's not unusual to recharge them every few years. If they stop cooling within a few months again, then there is a problem that needs to be found and dealt with before recharging with freon again. He added freon to the downstairs unit and also checked the upstairs unit which was slightly low. He then washed both units with water. The total bill for the service was $135. This is half of what I've been charged by other companies for single unit servicing in the past. Based on what I've read from other reviewers on Angie's List and my own experience, I'm going with C & K for all my HVAC needs. When the inevitable complete ac unit replacement comes in 2, 5 or 10 years?? they will get first crack at it.

It went great. This being the busiest time of year (August in Memphis) for an HVAC company, they did take over a day to come out. However, their response to my original after-hours phone call was quite timely, and I told them at the time that it was not an emergency. My central AC had quit running and I was afraid that the 18 year old compressor had failed. The tech came out within 45 min. of the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed the problem - a failed start capacitor. Within 15 min. of arrival, he had repaired the problem, checked out the system and was on his way. He even told me how to see if the capacitor had failed and how to replace it myself in the future - all for $120. He could have taken me for big bucks and I wouldn't have known any better. From my experience, they are a great company and staff. I will definitely recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC service. It does my heart good to know that there are still some honest and friendly folks out there.

It went great. They thoroughly tested and cleaned the AC unit without trying to sell me a new unit or do unnecessary repairs, etc. which can be costly. We will call them again if we have any future issues.

After setting up an appointment for 3:30-4:00, I waited around a while and around 4:00 received a call that the repairman was going to be late. He finally showed up around 5:00 and everything went fine after that.

EXCELLENT! There is a reason this company is rated "A" - along with a Angie's honor - two AC companies gave me quotes that would of required a new condenser - all that was needed were two condenser parts. I, especialy, recommend this company because I am sick of companies trying to rip-off "Senior Ladies" living alone. Few honest companies exist in this day and age - this company should be rewarded with all the business they can handle. Thanks, again C&K. P.S. The cost was higher than usual because of weekend labor rates - still very fair and honest pricing.

Let me start by saying for the last couple of years we have had ongoing issues with our upstairs a/c unit. The home warranty company we used to carry, sent out a company on several occassions that was, let's say, less than stellar. The inside coil was replaced, blower motor, and compressor, all at different times. Still the system never functioned properly. It did not cool well and we had very little air flow fro the vents. Disgusted comes nowhere close to how we felt. As if the repair attempts weren't bad enough, we had unprofessional people arrive at the house in junky vans with no signage, getting out and working with their shirts unbuttoned and they tacked on charges they said were the law only to find out later, that was a lie to get more money. After dealing with this for so long, we were very unsure about trusting anyone again. I was recommended by my mother to try Angies list to find reputable companies, so i did. I researched the companies and read the reviews and found C&K Air & Heating. I called to set an appointment and spoke with a very nice person. She set the appointment and a few days later we had a visitor. The technician that arrived was in uniform and well mannered. His name is Robert and he is very good at what he does. I told him our history and he went to work inspecting our system. He charged the system to check for leaks. He found the inside coil to have no leaks, but upon inspecting the outside unit he found a leak. It was in the line going to the compressor. I told him how the compressor was replaced and that the very next year when i was replacing the condensor fan motor, I found that the company that replaced the compressor, never bolted it back down. This was the reason for the leaky line. You see, the compressor vibrated loosely for a year without being bolted down and rubbed a hole in the line. I'm sure this line could have been repaired, but i wanted nothing to do with this unit anymore. Robert discussed with me several options for replacing the condensor unit. He explained in detail the benefits and cost of each model, never trying to force anythng on me. After Robert answered all my questions, I made the decision to purchase the top of the line Trane unit for our home. I asked Robert if they were comparable in pricing and he answered me by saying that they are comparable in pricing but if I needed time to shop around, that would be fine. I told him I wasn't intersested in shopping around and to set me up for replacement. Now I didn't tell him this because i'm wealthy, I am far from it. I simply found someone who took pride in what he did, was thorough and spent time explaining everything. Trust was earned that day and you just can't buy that! Chris, the owner contacted me to confirm the appointment and a few days later Robert showed up with an assistant, Greg. They were on time and boh were very professional. Not only did they install the new unit, but a new valve has to be replaced in the coil due to te fact we were switching over from type 22 freon to the new type 410. When Robert disassembled the old valve, he found that te previous technician who replaced the inside coil had installed the piston backwards!!!!!!!! No wonder the system never operated properly! As if that weren't enough he also found the cause of my low air flow from the vents. The damper in the plenum was almost closed. I told him about tis on the initial inspection and he remembered. i could not have been more pleased to actually feel cold air flowiing freely from my vents now. What amazes me is that I complained of this 3 times to the previous company and they never could or did not try to find the problem. Needless to say I was more than satisfied with the outcome. Robert is an excellent technician and I would not want anyone else working on my system. Super nice guy and very professional. It has been four days sincethe installation and it has never been this cool in our home! We purchased the 3 ton Trane xl-15 unit. I don't know what price anyone else could have replaced it for and realy don't care simply for the fact that the service was so good, i feel it was worth every cent. The total cost was..... initial inspection visit and replacement of capacitor was 127.50 and the replacement of the outside 3 ton unit, new coil valve and charged was 4090.00. Money well spent. I would highly recommend C&K air and heating to anyone looking for great service. Chris the owner is very professional as well as his outstanding tech Robert. I can't say enough about Robert. CHECKED ON ONE MORNING, lOCATED THE PART. INSTALLED .ALL 4.0

Original system still working, but showing serious signs of not making it through another summer. I got estimates from four companies; chose C&K based on price and confidence developed in the interview process. Owner Chris Kirk was great to work with; had a home visit four hours after I called. He wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty to determine what I had and what I needed. He listened and we discussed; no hard sales pitch. Days later, three options (good/better/best) including total cost for each provided via e-mail; very complete and professional. I opted to visit the C&K office on Watson Rd. to refine my chosen option and "seal the deal". Met Chris's Dad (his business partner) and two of their installers; all good guys. In a follow-on office visit, Mr Kirk Senior was very nice, discussing a system concern I had with me at length. Signed on 27 April, work performed on 9/10 May. Two days of hard work by Robert, Ricky, Jerry and Lawrence; did a great job...including rectifying my system concern....an upstairs cold air return that wasn't active and under capacity. Had to remind them to put down protective coverings on day two and didn't get the new plywood underlayment I wanted, but I can live with that. Shelby County Inspector just left after required visit; gave the system a "green sticker". I asked and he said that what he saw was a good quality installation.

I set up an appointment after reading the positive reviews here on Angie's List. Chris was very professional on the phone and set a date/time to perform a spring cleaning and service check. Hours after the appointment time had come then gone, I called Chris to see what was the problem. He apologized and indicated he had an emergency at the office. He agreed to send someone by that afternoon, which he did. The service tech was excellent and stayed until well after normal quitting time to get my job done. I greatly appreciate his excellent customer service and dedication to getting the job done!

We looked at other quotes and their company came in the lowest. They helped lower the among of energy we use on a monthly basis.

It was a big crew who came in and first prepared my home with drop cloths, etc. They worked non-stop, very polite, good with my dogs, and did a great job installing. I am so impressed with the increased air flow in my home. The owner also came out to make sure I was happy. I was and still am today. They were AWESOME.

I had received four estimates to replace my furnace and central air conditioning and C&K was the company I selected. Chris the owner came over to the house and gave a very thorough presentation with several options to choose from. He was the only person who left print information on the Trane equipment his company uses. He worked with me and was very patient. Without a doubt I know I made the right decision with selecting C&K and I would use the company again. In this economy you want to deal with people and companies who put customer service first and who won't take advantage of you. I got that with C&K.
