Galmiche Sons Heating Cooling

Our AC stopped during the hottest part of July when temperatures hovered in the mid 90s. They came out to look at the unit but misdiagnosed the problem as being electrical. I hired an electrician and he maintained the problem was with the compressor unit. I called Galmiche back out and they then confirmed that the compressor had shorted out. They presented options for a replacement and had the new unit and the technician there the very next day. The company even went as far as reimbursing me for the electricians cost.

I told Jeff Galmiche, I'm 56yrs old. I want the best bang for my buck and not something that pays me back in 20yrs. He delivered. Work started on time and ended ahead of time. Chris the installer cleaned up my humidifiers and got them working and showed me how to use them and maintain the system.

They provided a very competitive price on a well-known product (Lennox). The workmen were on-time and very polite. They were very quick and cleaned up after themselves. They were also able to do the work only days after giving me their bid; others were out as much as two weeks before I could get an installation appointment.

It went great, as I expected. We have worked with Galmiche for over 18. years maintaining and repairing our old (builder's grade) furnace and air conditioner. Two years ago they told us it was time for a new air conditioner, but helped us baby it along for another couple of years. Well finally after coming out for another repair this year, we had them replace it. They gave us a number of options in multiple price ranges on how to best cool our two-story house. We went with the middle one, a high effieciency model. They showed up exactly on time. The technician was very friendly and professional. He even worked around the fact that we had a bird's nest with babies in the wreath on our front door!! They were able to complete all the work in one day. They did not require any money from us until the job was finished and I was able to call the office and pay over the phone. The office staff are also very friendly and helpful. They helped us get a $150 rebate from our utility company. Also, they worked around our schedule when arranging a time to do the work. I couldn't be more pleased with the honest, reliable, friendly service we consisently receive from Galmiche & Sons.

We've had them before as they put in our furnace and air conditioner twenty-two years ago. They're just good. I think they're fair, honest and they do good work. We recommended him twenty-two years ago and since then we've recommended him and a friend of ours had some work done.

Great experience from the initial contact through installation completion. Jeff visited & evaluated our current system, listened to our needs, answered our questions etc. Prompt bid. He informed us of various savings avaiable such as rebates (mfg and utilities) + tax credits and provided us information to process those. Ron(?) was suberb. He and another Galmiche employee arrived at the appointed time, removed our old HVAC and installed new over a 2 day period. We changed the location of our AC unit and that was well done also. Our new system is SO much more effiecient and much quieter. Our new thermostat is very high tech which my husband loves :-) (Looks like a mini iPad!) I have zoned heating, and discovered on a Saturday morning that the downstairs furnace was not working. Because the upstairs furnace was still operational, I didn't need to have an emergency weekend call--I just stayed upstairs all weekend. There was a slight glitch in communication--i left a message for them on Saturday, indicating that I'd like to schedule a service call for Monday. They said they would call back but somehow the message didn't make it through. I called again at 7:30 on Monday morning, and they were able to stop by at 9am, so everything worked out well. It turned out that the thermostat needed to be replaced, which was done in 15-30 mins. The cost was approximately 100 for the programmable thermostat, 30 for the trip charge, and 50 for labor. The technician was very professional.

Galmiche and sons did a great job. Their estimate was significantly lower than three others we received. They were able to start work within a week and had the job done on schedule. They were friendly, prompt, and performed the job as they said they would. They installed a unit that could keep up with the past hot summer. We have been very pleased with the work that they did, and it was just in time. I would recommend them to others and have been very satisfied with the work.

Called Galmiche & Sons on Friday afternoon. Was told by woman who answered that a tech would be out the following day to service our fuel run, as it won't hold pressure. Laclede turned off our gas as a result. No call/no show on Saturday. Called Sunday morning. Spoke to another woman. Told her that no one showed or called on Saturday, and that we've been without gas since Friday morning. She said someone would follow up with us, but did not say when. It is now Monday morning at 10:30am, and no one has called or come to service our issue. Would never recommend this company and will choose another provider.

I worked with Joe (?). We did everying over the phone. I told him where a key was hidden. He went over, measured and bid the job. He was a little higher that a friend I know in the Heating and Cooling business. Joe gave me detailed bid with make and model of all equipment. I gave a verbal go-ahead to get the job secheduled while a contract was being sent to me. My friend si a one-may show and I was concerned about service after the installation. They pulled the city permit, replaced the furnace, A/C unit and Thermostat. They did all the electical wiring work and tied into the existing duct work. They had the job done in a week. Once the job was done, I called in a debit card number for payment. I've never personally met anyone from the company, but dealing over the phone was easy. After two months, the A/C unit froze up. They came out. It was a dirty filter from drywall work. One of my workers was supposed to inspect the filter and replace when needed. I had a case of filters, but he let me down. I was expecting to get billed, but didn't. I was using another H&C company in the past. I'm cosidering using them for all my work for my 5 rental properties.when needed.

Galmiche is great to work with, to schedule the service, they arrive on time, and complete the work quickly/professionally. There isn't too much to describe the annual inspections. Although before I had the 20 year old furnace replaced, they had to do more to take out the parts and clean them and they explained to me my options for fixing the existing model if I wasn't ready to replace it. When I did decide to replace it, they described the furnace options and recommended that I go with the 80% model as it was not worth the extra money to get a higher efficiency furnace considering the time it would take to earn that back with the energy bills and because it would already be such an improvement over my old model. I really appreciated that they did not just try to sell me the most expensive model they could. They did good work installing that also. The first year I had my home, I used a different company for my furnace inspection and cleaning and they tried the alarmist approach to tell me that I must replace the furnace immediately as it would quit or cause a fire (it last another 3 years) and that my ducts were not up to code and too close to the ceiling and they were going to start a fire any minute also. Galmiche confirmed this was not the case which is another reason that I appreciate the professionalism of the work they do.

We requested bids for the purchase and installation of a central heating and air conditioning system for an old house that we were renovating. Galmiche and Sons came in with the best price for what we needed. We set an appointment for installation. They came in as scheduled tore out the old system and installed the new one without a hitch. They took care of everything. This was approximately August 2010. We were very satisfied with their service. In July 2012, we noticed water leaking from under the unit in the basement and called them. They explained to my husband over the phone how to fix the problem. It was simple and did not require a service call. We appreciate their fairness in that they did not insist on coming out and charging us for a service call. for a simple fix as some other companies would have. We recommend them to anyone in need of a new system.

Seemed a bit pricey for annual maintenance on two units and freon on one... But very professional and informative and the repairman sent did try to save me money... Might compare costs in the future, but would definitely use again if not out of range...

Prompt quote. Did what they said they were going to do and did it well. We change the Space Gard four times per year. Other than filter changes, no maintenence required, system works flawlessly.

Service guy showed up on time, prepared to work, and very professional performing all the checks necessary to ensure all was OK. I've known Jeff for several years and HIGHLY recommend his company for any Heating and cooling needs.

They did just what they said they would. There was no hidden cost. They were very responsive.

Jeff and his team were great. The system is working as promised. We have the firm do our PM work as well in the fall and spring.

Those guys are good. They did all this work with 2 men and were done and out in 4 hours. We shopped around and got 5 different bids and went with Galmiche. They came out when they said they would. They had the best price for a new Lennox unit with 92% efficiency. They were very professional. They never left a screw on the floor when they were done. They were above satisfactory. I was totally amazed how fast and neat they were.

There was a sticker of theirs on my air exchange unit in my basement which stated that they previously serviced it before we bought the house and that is why I went ahead with them. They were very responsive and came out the same day that I called. Their pricing seemed high and they also messed up with the billing. I asked them some questions and they did not seem to show me what they were doing.

Overall, I think Galmiche did a great job. They did a good job of explaining which system they thought would work best for me. I got two other estimates and their price was competetive for the system I wanted. The installation went fine, but after one day of the A/C running, I noticed a loud whine coming from the new blower. They ordered new parts and within two days installed a new blower cage and motor. All the technicians are professional and prompt.

I like them and I get a fair deal from them. They are responsive whenever I have any kind of a problem.

My thermostat went out in early winter, and they came during the weekend to repair it. I called other places from to get a quote and no one else but this company called me back. The prices are always excellent and they take time to explain things to you so you know what is going on. I never feel like they are out to sell me services or products that I do not need.

They were up-front, honest, and communicative. The workmanship was great, and the price was what they said it would be.

I am in a business that deals with many contractors. This company has an excellent reputation in the industry. We had many estimates and this company gave us a mid price quote. They brought in extra lighting and vacuumed everything. They respected our pets and made sure that they didn't let any pets get out while going in and out of our home. They had terrific and professional personalities. They imparted knowledge to me about the system. They followed up with me the week later to make sure everything was running smoothly.

They show up when they say they will. They responded in an emergency quickly. The price listed is for the yearly contract.
