They did a fine job. It came out negative and we are fine. I would use them again.

Tom was very helpful when I was in a difficult situation resolving the radon issue. He fit me into his schedule early, and went out of his way to help get the situation resolved quickly so I was able to sell my condo. The $900 was for the mitigation system only the cost of the tarping was not included in the above cost of service as this was a different company.

Although there was a mix-up on the date of setup Sue was very apologetic and punctual for the remaining visits. The testing was done in 2 days and I received my report by email that day.

Sue, the technician who performed the service, offered us convenient times to place and retrieve the testing device. She arrived at the appointed times. During her last visit, our neighborhood streets and driveways were covered with ice from freezing rain. After retrieving the device, she immediately told us that there was not a hazardous level of radon gas in our home. Thank God! Before leaving she offered to apply chemical salt, that we had, to our ice-covered driveway and walkway. We were surprised and greatly appreciative at this "extra" act of service! We will certainly recommend this company's inexpensive and valuable service to our friends and relatives.

The work was completed in less than 3 hours from arrival to departure. The crew made sure to explain how the system worked and what signs to look for that would show the system is malfunctioning. The radon testing they performed after installing the system showed a significant reduction in radon levels in our home. We are very happy with the work that st. Louis radon performed and I would recommend them to anyone that needed a radon abatement system installed in their home.

Very professional installers. Worked within the constrainsts of an old (60 year old) basement with little floor space and less ceiling options. Work was done efficiently and through completion. Only issue was they hit a electircal wire while drilling. They did a thorough job assessing and testing the issue, and had resolution plans thought out depending on the analysis. I only wish they didn't hit it in the first place, but did everything to correct the issue and stay to task. I would refer them without a doubt. | |

The radon mitigation system in our house had been installed by a different company called "Eagle Eye" for the previous owners as part of the sales contract. There were problems with Eagle Eye's work: their exhaust pipe ended two feet below the bedroom window, so we called them to extend it, and they proceeded to extend it to just below our 3rd floor window. Clearly Eagle Eye was not familiar with EPA regulations, and it eventually became impossible to get in touch with them; they may now be out of business (deservedly). So I consulted Angie's List to find a reputable radon mitigation company and decided to try St. Louis Radon based on the glowing reviews. My experience with St. Louis Radon from beginning to end was exemplary. Tom assured me that it was possible for them to inspect and adjust/repair the work of the previous company, found an early date to schedule it, and gave me a reasonable quote. On the day scheduled, Shane and John arrived to do the work. I pointed out the issues that I had spotted. Shane inspected the system and identified other problems that I would not have had the experience to see. We discussed what needed to be done, and the two men did it efficiently and neatly. They strengthened the whole exhaust structure which had been prone to sagging; they eliminated an area where moisture could back up and freeze; they rerouted the exhaust pipe to the regulation 10 feet away from our attic window; they added a squirrel barrier to the end of the pipe; they replaced plastic supports with metal ones; they sealed a crack near the fan where air was being sucked into the system and thereby increased its effectiveness. When finished, Shane walked me through and answered my questions about radon mitigation. I was very happy with the transaction. The following day Tom called me for an unprompted follow-up. My experience with this company was 100% positive and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.

When we were selling our townhouse, the buyer had the basement tested for radon by another testing company. It came out about 6 pCi/L, above the EPA safe level of 4.0. The other company didn't provide any back-up information, such as testing log, or chart, just a number. In the process of trying to get additional information from testing company, I talked to Tom of St Louis Radon. I had already contacted Tom for an estimate for mediation. He volunteered to do a retest of our townhouse. The result again came out over 4 pCi/L. Tom provided all the back up information along with the average radon level. With all the information, I felt comfortable with the accuracy of the results and the need to proceed with radon mediation. Since our closing date was rapidly approaching, we needed to get the work scheduled and completed in fairly short order. Tom coordinated the work schedule to meet our needs. After mediation and retesting, the radon level was reduced to about 1 pCi/L. The installers were prompt, did a nice job on the install, and did a good job cleaning up. I was very satisfied. As a result, I asked Tom to schedule our current residence for radon mediation also. We had had the house tested prior to buying, but had not done the necessary mediation work yet. Tom scheduled a date, the crew arrived on time, and again did a very nice job with the install. Retesting showed levels below 1.0 pCi/L.

They were very professional and we are very satisfied with the job they did. They were prompt and took great care to leave no mess behind. They laid drop cloths everywhere any of their crew walked in our home and thoroughly vacuumed any mess created by the installation. The installation itself looks great and like it has always been in our home. Over a year later, things are still working perfectly and still look great.

I have a new-ish home in Harvester and as is customary for me I set up a portable electronic radon detection device. These devices are not as accurate as what the company use but show issues in orders of magnitude. When I realized that we had consistently high readings I called several service providers. I am fairly savvy about how these solutions work and within a few minutes I established that St Louis Test and Mitigation were the right company for my needs. A rough price was quoted pending validation of my answers to various logistical questions. We made an appointment for the next week and they phoned on the morning before coming out and arrived on time. within minutes the two guys were explaining the plan and got down to work. I was impressed with their courteous nature and impeccable clean up (after all they had to go from under my slab through to ceilings, which was not a straight line.) The company also sealed number of minor cracks for no extra charge and they will continue to test the air to ensure the solution is working. Before leaving the guys walked around with me to explain the points I need to watch, like checking the manometer on passing it to make sure there was still a vacuum in the pipe. All in all I could not have been happier with St Louis Test and Migration and would recommend their services without reservation.

The installers were very courteous and called when they were on the way to the house - and showed up when they said they would be there. While they were at the house they again were very courteous and answered all my questions. It only took them about 2 hours to do the install. I would recommend them to any of my friends looking for a radon mitigation system.

I called Tom after testing my home twice for radon which registered at a levels of 8.8 and 12.2. They came out on time and were very professional and installed the system within 3 hours.Follow up testing resulted in a reading of .5.

When an in-home test we got at Lowe's showed we may need to have mitigation, I found StL Radon on Angie's list. Went to their site, and found link to MO State's program for a free in-home test kit, which was a nice touch. Got that kit, and confirmed need for mitigation (scored @7, and should be addressed if over 4). Called owner, Tom, a couple of times--he was prompt, courteous, answered all my questions, and not pushy. Arranged for the mitigation, and everything went very smoothly in every respect. System is quiet, and reduced levels to .9. Glad to recommend this company.

Spoke with Tom. He was very easy to work with and scheduled the appointment immediately. His staff arrived on time and called me when they arrived as I could not be there. The work was completed with a radon evaluation that passed. They provided the restest report, warranty and lien waver in an e-mail a few days later. The workmen also cleaned up after themselves. This company is very easy to work with and very professional.

Reasonable pricing. Very courteous and professional.

All of my comments were made in the previous section. However, I would without reservation, RECOMMEND ST. LOUIS RADON TO ANYONE IN THE ST. LOUIS AREA WHO NEEDS TO INSTALL A RADON ABATEMENT SYSTEM (which is very important with the type of soil in this area).

Very impressed! My home tested over 20 for Radon, had St. Louis Radon come in and install a mitigation system. They were in and out in under 2 hours. The workmen explained how it all worked and answered my questions. They had to drill into my basement floor, and into my rafters to run wiring to the unit, I couldn't even tell they had done any construction, they had cleaned everything up so well and left no trace of any debris. They then ran a new 2 day test and the results came back 0.9! Would definitely use again on a future home.

I purchased a new condo and radon tested high during inspection. St. Louis Radon was contacted, arrangements were made and the service was performed. It was complicated due to the floor plan of the condo. There are several bends in the pvc but they did a nice job keeping it from interfering with any important aspect of the home. I am very pleased with the service. The technicians were very knowledgable and friendly. They arrive right on time and finished when they said they would. Very pleased and have already referred others.

The house was vacant and being mitigated for the buyers. I had moved out of town and was not present for the actual work, however, the sales agent and buyers were quite satisfied. I was frequently receiving updates from the company by phone. They were working in a time constraint to figure out the problems in order to have the house ready for closing. They worked very hard to meet the deadline and succeeded..

While I was a home purchaser and did not have a choice on who was chosen to perform this work, I did participate in the planning and execution of the work to be performed. I don't think it could have gone too much better. These guys seem to really know what they are doing. And they showed up when expected and completed the work in a few hours. System after retesting has virtually eliminated most of the radon gas that was getting into the house through the basement floor.

From the first call to a follow up email after the completion of job , Tom was always in touch. I was faced with a very stringent HomeOwners association with regard to placement of the exterior vent ( they didn't want it visible from the street). I was also on a tight schedule for closing on my condo and I did not want issues that would compromise the sale. Tom submitted a drawing for the Home Owners Assn that expedited approval. The installers represent what I would hope to see in all installation crews - they introduce themselves, they explain every detail before during and after the installation. They used drop cloths everywhere and vented the dust from the 4" hole in the basement floor to exterior. The property had been in perfect condition for closing before the job and I had NO clean up to do after completion. The system has an excellent warranty and the contract price included a thorough monitoring report after the job was completed I recommended St Louis Radon to both my real estate agent and the condo association.

I got the estimate, he came and did the work, and cleaned up any mess that was made. The job went fine.
