I had a groupon for Energy Efficiency Audit. They came on time, were very professional and answered all my questions. Watching the thermal camera was fun and it showed all the areas the house was leaking energy. I got the estimate to correct some of the things promptly. I didn't hire them to do the repairs because the estimates were pretty high. Even with $250 credit it still seemed like too much. Bottom line, very professional and prompt service.

Swimmingly. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. And the house is so much more comfortable now. Putting in the attic insulation cut my heating bills down by at least 50% last winter. I'm actually looking forward to my heating bills this winter to see how much adding the wall insulation will help. I can't say that I've ever looked forward to a heating bill before :)

Joe Page came out to perform our energy audit. He was on time, completely professional and thorough. Within a couple of days I received the estimate with the items ranked in order of effectiveness. We wanted to get another estimate for comparison. The other company was not nearly as professional and alot more expensive. I called Joe and decided to schedule attic insulation, air sealing, crawl space vapor barrier/sealing and wall insulation. They had a cancelation and since my schedule was open they were able to come out the next day. They started on Friday and came on Sat to finish the job. Once they started the wall insulation they realized that we already had plenty and that the additional would not be needed. This cut almost $2000 off the price. I was very impressed. In the crawl space it was recommended that we identify/address the source of some minor water entering before we placed the vapor barrier. I will definitely be calling them after my contractor places a sump pump and closes a small hole in my crawl space. The team that they sent to my house was fabulous. Friendly, courteous and honest. It was an all around positive experience.

Joe closed off the house and installed a powerful fan in the front door. Using an infrared camera, Joe checked for area's of energy loss. Joe inspected all attic locations, making determination of proper insulation and possible energy structural problems. Received an audit summary email from Joe with a recommendation of items that needed to be improve on my house.

The assessment went very well. Technician explained what was being done and why every step of the way. He seemed knowledgeable. I have an old house so expected major issues. I had hoped that the HVAC assessment was included but it was not. This is offered as a separate service. The energy audit only focuses on air leak analysis and remedy. Very good experience.

A professional, courteous, young man arrived on time, explained the process of testing, set up his equipment and proceeded. When finished he pointed out some weak areas where we were losing energy in the attic and recommended some solutions. Since I'm unsure of whether we may be moving or not, I'm deferring on that work for a few months. Pleasant and productive visit.

They did find some areas where we didn't have any insulation at all up in the attic area. They give you recommendations and its' up to you to do them or not to do them and I thought it was quite well presented to me. They did what they said they would do and they put the material in as they said they would. I have no issues whatsoever.

The technician was very professional and the report he prepared was simple and easy to follow. They listed the prices they would charge to perform the work they recommended. Some of the items were quite simple, such as an energy blanket for my water heater and insulation for my water pipes, and those tasks I did myself. The larger items, such as increasing the insulation in the attic and blocking specific air leaks in the attic area I bidded out to other companies and got a much better price than offered by the energy audit company. Home Green Home wanted $3925.00 to make the repairs/corrections listed in their report. By doing some of the work myself and putting the rest out to bid, I spent less than $2100. The audit was performed in September 2011, and I had all the recommended fixes completed by the end of October 2011. The result was: Energy bill at time of audit: $258.00 per month for Ameren Missouri bill (all electric home) Energy bill now: $220.00 per month for Ameren Missouri bill In addition, my Ameren Missouri bill was so far ahead that I received a $450.00 credit so that my October 2012 bill was $00.0, and my November 2012 bill is $20.00. So I have already saved $450.00 in the year since the audit, and going forward will save $38.00 per month. The audit was professionally done and provided valuable information, but the price they wanted to perform the recommended services was way too high.

Home Green Home LLC provided the attic inspectiona and the other services outlined above - their representative was very efficientand worked in the attic on a very hot day. He provided the results of the air leakage test and sent us this information as well along with the proposed cost to remedy the air lraks, seal the electrical outlets in the attic, provide basement sealing service, seal plumbing /flue/ duct connections to the attic and provide blown in attic insulation. We did have this work performed in July of 2012 and were pleased with the result and the work of Home Green Home LLC. We recommend this company for these services.

He gave me good advice and was real friendly. He also gave me the report on the house and I gave it to the new buyer. He did a good job.

Expensive but well worth it!! Joe and the team that came out did a great job. And they have done all the paper work for rebates for the energy company for us!!

It was great. They did a thorough inspection, made a detailed list of issues that needed to be addressed, and they prioritized them for us. They were great at fixing the issues as well.

It was the first time I had used them. It went very well. They were very thorough and did what they said they would do.

Price for the energy audit was great @ $49 - purchased via an Angie's List special deal. This was an interesting process and he patiently explained each step of this process along the way, showing me the screen monitoring for leaks and air flows. Results of found that my home failed the energy audit miserably, unfortunately. I'd suspected there were issues with insulation, etc. and that was my primary reason for hiring them in the first place. I received a detailed list of improvements needed with bids via email within a week. I did decide to go ahead and hire them to do insulation work in the attic, and this job was completed promptly - within 2 weeks. The two workers sent to do the insulation job were fantastic, really nice guys who worked hard and were very polite, I'd give them an A+ They removed much of the old insulation (50-60%) and new insulate material was blown into attic with compressors. The job took the better part of two days. I felt the price for the insulation work was extremely high. Even with the $250 discount (which came with the original $49 purchase of the energy audit) the cost for this attic insulation work was over $2500! I found that price to be shockingly high, especially for a smaller home of only about 1200 square feet. But I did agree and to go ahead with at least that phase of work needed on home. The reason I would not hire Home Green Home again is this: I know my HVAC system is old, but the HVAC/furnace guy they sent told me that the furnace is not safe to use and warned me not to turn it on at all. Later another contractor spent nearly 2 hours here doing a thorough inspection for leaks & carbon monoxide, etc. and found that not to be true at all. The pilot light on the furnace was ON when he arrived. He said a licensed furnace contractor should not leave a property with the pilot light burning if it is in an unsafe condition. I was disappointed to be told something like that which was not true. I plan to use my furnace for another season or until I can afford to replace it. There were visits to my home at 3 different times by different workers for this company. In terms of 'professionalism' there were no issues while they were here. That part was fine. The low grade on that variable is due to be told something not true, presumably to scare me into thinking I'd better hire them immediately.

Overall, the job went very well. We have recommended Home Green Home to 3 other friends (2 of whom are on our block) and so far 2 of the couples have signed up to have them do audits and insulation. We noticed a huge improvement in how the third floor feels the very next day. The work was done right before the long and severely hot summer we had and our third floor was very comfortable, where before, if the AC was not constantly running up their, it would quickly get too hot to stay there without sweating. Believe it or not, our electricity bills this summer were lower than they were the summer of 2011!!! They are a great company that performs a great service and I would recommend them to anyone who is thinking about insulating their old city home.

They gave us a packet after doing the inspection, including a color picture print-out of my home. They were very thorough and had 3 sets of suggestions, including what it would cost to do the work. I did two of their suggestions, and it really made the house warm up! I was so impressed. The work that they did really paid off and helped the situation.

It went well. Joe Page walked through the entire house using the infra-red scanner to identify cool areas. They also conducted a pressure test of the house to determine leakage. Afterward, he sat down with us to review the results and provided an itemized recommendation of improvements.

The person that came to our home was super professional, prompt and super helpful. He did a thorough job and helped us figure out why half of our house was not heating/cooling properly. This was mainly due to not enough insulation in the attic and a difference in height between the attached garage and our home. We have since added more insulation to our attic and we can tell such a difference. He also did a good job explaining what was worth it to fix and what was perhaps not financially worth it. For example, we have a door that goes to our backyard and you can see about half of an inch of space at the top. I was worried we were losing a lot of heat/cool air but he explained that we probably weren't losing that much compared to the cost of what it would take to replace the entire door. I appreciated that honesty.

Joe called before he came to the hose. He was about 5 minutes early and apologized! He explained what he was about to do, how long it would take and gave me some background on both himself and the company. He's an architect and residential engineer or something similar he had degrees. He asked us if there were any specific problems or why we thought we needed the service. I told him that earlier in the year there was a rancid smell in the master closet we thought a rodent had died in the wall or something. He assured me that he'd look for dead things as well as access points. He entered the crawl space from the garage area, I could here him walking around up there from inside the house. He took his time, it was June and very hot already. He was up there for about 15 -20 minutes. From inside the house I could hear him going from front to back and side to side. He came down and showed me pictures, nothing to report as far as animal carcasses. He was at my house for about 2.5 hours total. He showed us things that I could do to improve energy efficiency, low cost like insulation in the wall outlets. He showed me using the FLIR how my vaulted ceilings could use more insulation towards the peaks. He showed me how there was a gap between two bathrooms on the first floor and because there was no header cap to prevent the blown insulation in the attic crawl space from falling between the joists. This also allowed hot air into the walls between the two bathrooms.The blower test was great, my house was already extremely tight and he explained the risk of poor indoor air quality. He took me to the basement and showed me the FLIR camera and how the first floor bay area was the most vulnerable for allowing cold air into the home during winter months. He asked if the garden tub in the master bath was very cold or almost freezing in the the winter.... HOW DID HE KNOW? Oh Yeah he went to school for this stuff! Joe followed up via email with a written report there were some detailed recommendations as well as estimates. He followed up about 10 days later with a phone call, apologizing for not calling sooner. He asked if I understood the report, he answered some questions. Due to a family emergency out of state this summer we didn't have any work preformed. Joe called one or two more times but then told me that Home Green Home would be there when we were ready to have the work done. I'll be calling Joe shortly to have some of his recommendations implemented, epically the spray in insulation to the bay floor area to keep that master tub a tad bit warmer this winter.

It was the first time I had used them. It went great. He was very professional. He knew exactly what he was doing. He explained everything he was doing. I would use them again.

Home Green Home came out and performed an energy scan of our house and identifed several opportunites for improvement for which they provided a written estimate of the cost for each item. They also wanted to understand any particular comfort issues that we had noticed that we wanted them to look at. I liked their approach of the audit and findings such that it was fact based without being a hardsell of their services. We elected to have them perform some insulation related work to address the problems. Everyone that came to our house was very knowledgeable, friendly and prompt.

We were very pleased with their services. We had them do some extra work for us as well and were equally as pleased.
