Vince provided a detailed estimate/contract. We agreed on approximate start and completion date. He was very gracious and punctual in answering all my questions. If anything changed, such as times to meet ,arrive or additions to my needs, I always received a phone call. He and his crew completed the job in 3 days, which was just as projected. Laspina Construction was polite, professional and easy to work with. They delivered what they promised. I'm very pleased and would work with them again.

Very professional in carrying out work. Everything was done as promised. Cleaned up after themselves when job was done. Will definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Vince and Tony came, did the sanding, removed the cracked banister and installed the new one. I asked them if they could put up awnings that go over my kitchen windows which are long and awkward to install. They did that for me along with the deck fixing all in about an hour and a half. This is the third time I have had Vince do work for me and I wouldn't hesitate to ask him to come and do work for me again. His work is excellent.

It went very well. The first day, 10/15 was a Monday. Vince introduced me to Tony & Mac who were going to be there all day to tear out the old deck. the new deck materials would be delivered Tuesday, 10/16 and installation would begin. They finished the deck and rails on Wednesday, 10/17/12. They hauled away everything old and brought in the new materials, too. Vince coordinated the permit details with me, providing a sketch of what would be done, that I then used when I purchased the permit. No problems, everything went smoothly and the deck/rails look fantastic. I will recommend Vince & his company to my friends & family. Thanks Angie's list for the reviews on LaSpina Construction. I called Vince for an estimate to build me a new deck. Vince came by in a couple of days and gave me an estimate on how long it would take and how much it would cost. I got three estimates from three different companies and Vince was the most competitive. I called Vince back in a day and told him that my wife and I were a go. He said okay, give me a couple of days and I will draw up the plans and you will have to get a permit before I can start. I said okay. In a couple of days Vince drew me some plans and e-mailed them to me. On Wednesday morning I printed the drawings off my computer and went to City Hall to get the permit. I called Vince the same day and told him I got the permit. He said on Friday morning I will be there. Sure enough, on Friday morning he was here with his crew and they immediately went to work. Vince demolished the old deck and put up the framing for the new deck on Friday. He came back on Monday morning at the exact same time and picked up right where he left off. And this is one of the main reasons why Vince was so fantastic because he did not mess around. When he went to work, he went to work. Vince put up about 70 percent of the deck between Friday and Monday. On Tuesday Vince completed the roof and added all the finishing touches to the deck. He gave me a final showing of the deck and it was outstanding. I am very happy and I already have another job with Vince which is to install a storm door on my back entry way. He did everything I asked without any hesitation. I strongly recommend Laspina Construction for any deck work. Vince, I thank you, Tony and your whole crew. It looks superb!

Work was done well and when we had an issue with a warped board in the extreme summer heat Vince came out and made it right at no cost. I recommend Laspina construction for deck rehab at a reasonable cost.

I called Vince. He built a composite deck for me over a year ago. It was really nice that he remembered who I was just by name alone. He was able to make it out to my house and give me an estimate within a few days. The price was great. I told him that I wanted to move forward. He then said it may be a few weeks out. Within a week though, he called again and told me that he would be able to start soon. He was here within the next day or two. He originally told me it may take him a day or two to complete... He had the all the work done within a few hours! We love how everything turned out. The new columns look great and he left no mess behind. Vince is an extremely nice person and is great to work with. I would definitely have him do work for me again and recommend him to everyone.

Vince was quick to respond when I contacted him to get a bid on a deck. He did have to postpone our meeting a couple of times, but I understood. Things happen. When we did meet, he was on time. Vince is very personable and seemed to be very up front kind of guy. No big sales pitch, doesn't try to sell you something you don't need or want. We discussed what I wanted and he gave me his price, which was reasonable. As it turned out, the other company that I got a bid from, my son had worked with previously, which I did not know when I called to get a bid from them. The bids were dollars apart, which made it a really hard decision, but I finally decided to go with the guy that my son says does quality work. That is the ONLY reason that I did not have Vince do my deck, but I will definitely keep him in mind for future projects.

The service was commendable. I had a sense of the problem and an estimate from Vince the day after I called, and even though the job was bigger than either of us had anticipated, he had it done within a week. He also gave me an incredible deal, and the repair has held up incredibly well. Without a doubt: when the deck is ready to be replaced I'll be calling Laspina Construction.

While Vince was here doing some other work I had asked him to replace some screens on my porch, put a threshold at the door to stop bugs from coming in and a new sweep on the door. I also asked him to install some keyless locks for me. He put the locks where I wanted them which was not in the same place the old knobs were. The work was done quickly and well as is all the work Vince does for me. I will definitely use Vince again when I need more work done.

This is the second time Vince has done work for me and as with the first his work was superb and first rate. We met at several stone yards so he could help me pick out the materials I wanted. I don't like uniformity in the materials and Vince had very good ideas on how to get the look I wanted while keeping costs down. Vince works hard, is there when he says he is going to be or lets me know when he can't come. He always talks to me before he does the work and tells me what he will be doing. We talk frequently while he is doing the work so I know what is going on. The walls and steps went up quickly and the work area was thoroughly cleaned up when the work was finished. I asked that they not walk in the garden they were putting the wall around and they honored my wishes. Tony works with Vince, they work hard and they are enjoyable to have around. I definitely intend to use his services again.

Went well. started as scheduled, finished as expected. Quality of workmanship good.

Vince picked up my new door at the store, since it would not fit in my car. Then, he removed the old door and installed the new Glass Storm Door. He was very friendly on the phone and in person. The door was up and finished in a few hours. I am happy with the finish product and looking forward to working with him again.

I had an idea of what I wanted for my new deck. Vince Spain listened to my ideas and augmented them with better options. He and his assistant Tony worked during the hottest days of the 2011 summer. Came almost every day in the horrible heat. The deck turned out better than I anticipated. The attention to detail is great, and the construction is solid. They handled themselves with professionalism, politeness and persistence.

I had old concrete pads that were very wobbly coming off my lower deck steps, and on the other side of the deck there were steps that rested on dirt and the wood was rotting. I needed something more solid and dependable. Vince Spain plotted out and framed in what he thought would be what I needed. He checked with me before he poured the concrete. It all turned out great. I now have new steps off my lower deck that don't wobble and the steps on the other side land on concrete so now the wood won't rot. Great job!

Working with Vince and his helper Tony was a very positive experience. The price for the work may seem high but Vince had to do a great deal of extra work because I had chosen a wood called Cumaru which is exceptionally hard and requires pre drilling of every hole and applying a wax on every cut. Drilling on the wood is h****** the bits and required extra bits and a special saw blade. Vince made many helpful suggestions, went out of his way to do things that weren't in the contract besides doing everything that was in the contract. The mess was cleaned up at the end of the job. I was most impressed by the fact that Vince takes pride in his work. The deck looks so good and is finished so well. Part of my deck is one story off the ground. It has a very solid feel as though it will be there forever. I would hire Vince again for any job.

His work was terrific. He responded quickly and did a great job. When we ran across an issue 3 months later, he came out right away and fixed it with no charge. I recommend them highly.

We understood that when he was first hired to build the deck there would be a delay due to the tuckpointing and we allowed for this. However, we feel that taking almost a year to finish this job is unreasonable.

I left Vince a message and he promptly called me back within a couple of hours. He said he could come by the very next day between 5:30 and 6 pm. He never showed and never called.

It is beautiful and will last a very long time. He put in extra effort for us as a bush stump was in his way and he removed it. The project was completed as quickly as the weather permitted. We are quite happy with his work and would definitely hire him again for future projects.

Quote was in the ballpark, he was courteous, professional, and appeared very honest. But he seemed to be a one-man operation: no showroom, no frills, no backup, he didn't mention his team. The impression was that he was both the salesman and builder. He did not exude enough of a comfort level for me.

They quoted us about $4300. There was nothing really that stood out about them. The guy was pretty much like he sounded on the phone. He was knowledgeable and came and gave us an estimate. He was easy to talk to. He was very professional. I got a good impression. I haven’t used them yet, but I would probably contact them for another quote.

They were very professional, respectful and Vince kept us informed when he had to start 2 weeks after the date he had originally told us, due to rain and weather issues. Vince also let us know that our old deck was built too far out from the support to pass code, and gave us the option for him to rebuild the deck as it was, or cut the area off that would bring the deck up to code (we chose cutting the area off). We would definitely recommend them and would not hesitate to use them in the future.

He brought posts and rails about a week later and installed them.

It went really well. Vince came by within an hour of my call for an estimate and looked things over. Our deck was extremely old and rotten, and was falling apart. He examined it and determined that the roof would need to be propped up so the corner posts could be replaced as they weren't sunk into the ground or on piers, but were actually just resting on the deck. He left after getting a good look and asking what it was that we wanted, and worked up an estimate. The estimate was far lower than any other estimate we recieved. I was concerned that the quality might not hold up, but I decided that any deck was better than the piece of junk we had, so even if the deck wasn't going to be great, I was still going to go through with it. We set up a time and agreed to the $2500 for a cedar porch with a white vinyl lattice front and sides, cedar steps and hand rails and black aluminum rails. Our first date got pushed back due to a weather mishap at Vince's parent's house. We moved the start date to the following week, I believe. The guys showed up on time on the day agreed and started work. We expected the corner posts to have solid supports covered with facia, but they turned out to in fact be hollow. Fortunately this didn't cause any serious issues and they propped up the roof and got to work. They demolished the old porch on the first day and got all the debris cleaned up. They got the porch all framed up on the second day and laid down the deckboards the next day. On Wednesday they built the steps and put in the balusters. On Thursday they put on the vinyl lattice, finished the stair treads, and put on the bannisters and hand rails. On Friday they came back to finish some border work on around the lattice work. The decorative attachment we wanted for the front of the banisters was not on hand at the supplier, so they ordered it. Other than that, the porch was finished on Friday. They came back the next week and added the decorative pieces and finished a bit of corner work on the support posts, and I gave them the final payment. I've had the porch for several months now, and I am still quite satisfied with my purchase. It far exceeds my expectations, and while I wasn't expecting a lot of quality, considering the other contractors quoted between two and half to 4 times as much for this project, I can't imagine the other contractors could have done a better job. I would recommend Laspina Construction highly.
