BASEMENT EXPERTS

We contacted the main office on line since we could not find a local dealership to get more information. They called within a few days to schedule a meeting with us to explain the system. The salesman that came out was very good and very high pressure. I have asthma and was very concerned about mold in my basement and he really played on that heavily. After reviewing the situation in the basement he presented us with a bid which we rejected, then he gave us a home show discount since it had just ended even though we did not attend it but we still no, then he told us about a offer they had for 1 more customer that would bring the price down to the $17,823.00; he made a big show of calling to make sure no one else had already used it. So after 4 hours we agreed to a 90 days same as cash deal. We had 72 hours to cancel but the problems did not begin in until more then a week later after the work had begun. The finance office called and told me that our credit was so good they were going to give us 6 months same as cash. We had already started working on a loan with our credit union that would also cover other work we needed done, but after they told us that we were not hurrying with getting it done. Then we received some delayed payment loan papers with very unfavorable terms they wanted us to sign but signing those papers would jeopardize getting the other loan since it would show I was applying for two loans for the same work. I started getting harassing calls several times a day about signing the papers or paying immediately even though the work had not been done to my satisfaction nor according to the agreed specifications. It took a couple of weeks and two visits to get most of the electrical switch issues fixed although they would not do anything about the wall panel placed in front of the main drain clean out with an light switch in so it could not be easily removed. The harassing phone calls continued and the loan application showed up on my credit report even though I had not signed it. I finally wiped out my savings and maxed out a credit card to pay them tand get them off my back. I now have beautiful walls and ceiling but cannot afford to put in a floor yet so I paid a lot of money for a room I cannot even use. I also had to pay for a plumber to come in and change the access to the main drain which cost another $500.00. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and I cannot even go into the room without getting disgusted all over.
