Oh my gosh, from the beginning of when I contacted them I couldn't have asked to deal with nicer, more professional people. Mike came out and measured and had his computer with him and gave me their bid. He gave me some good advice and was very reassuring as I wasn't really convinced how they would look refinished as I knew the floors had some big issues. Ben is the one that did the work and he was so very nice and very patient with me as I was indecisive and even had a couple friends come by to give me their opinion on the floor stain color as I wanted to get rid of so much Golden/Red oak color to update it. I ended up going with the Kona Brown color that Ben suggested which turned out gorgeous. Ben and his helper were very professional, careful and did excellent work. My floors look absolutely beautiful and look like they are brand new. Friends that have stopped by have all just been amazed. One of my neighbors is currently getting a bid from them as she was so impressed. They use dustless sanding and there was literally no mess made from the sanding. Ben and his helper were very careful with my belongings, sink and toilet that they removed and fridge that they moved. They have an air compressor type machine that slips under the fridge and it floats above the floor so no roller marks when they moved it back. I was impressed with all of their equipment as it all seemed very high grade and appropriate for each part of the job. No making due with old or inadequate tools. I can't stress enough how wonderful Ben was to work with. He's very personable, polite, kind and professional. He answered all my questions as the job went on and they finished in the time frame they estimated. They kept everything neat and tidy and kept things clean and picked up. I'm not hard to get along with but I do believe people should do a good job at what they do and what I'm paying for so I'm not a push over either. Being a Realtor I know what looks great and what doesn't. I've seen a lot of hardwood refinishes botched in many houses over the years. Not with the Totta brothers! Overall, this was a perfect experience and I have a brand new floor! Thanks so much guys!

This project had both good and not so good aspects to it. These are good, young,competent,professionals. Their skills are obviously high. However their punctuality, their adherence to the orginal schedule, and their clean-up needs improvment. They had difficulty being on the job at times that had been mutually agreed upon. They unnecessarily scratched some cabnetry, and their clean up at day's end was not what it should have been. Would I use them again? Yes. The finished project was very good. But they could do several things a lot better and have much higher marks if they took the things mentioned to heart.,

Mike and his team did an amazing job on my floors! They were always punctual and kept the work area very clean. They were very easy to work with in picking the right color stain for my 100 year old floors and did an amazing job! I look forward to having them back in the near future to do additional work and have referred them to many friends that are considering having their floors redone. You will not be dissappointed. Seriously, call them.

From start to finish this was a pleasant experience for us. The work was done by pleasant and experienced people. We were very surprised at the small amount of dust left behind on counters and etc. with all the sanding that had to be done. We can not say enough good about Mike Totta and his helper. The floor looks great and is as smooth as glass. We highly recommend this company to everyone.

After receiving several quotes to add new and have the existing hardwoods in my home refinished - we were far and away more impressed with Totta than anyone else. Mike offered a comprehensive quote with all of the services we asked for as well as additional options. Not only was it the most professional quote we received, it was the most thorough. All of the guys on the crew that we met were incredibly professional and very conscious that my family and I were confined to living upstairs while they were working in the home. They always left the first floor very clean, moved all their equipment to the side and cleaned up after themselves. I could not be more pleased with how the floors turned out - they are the beautiful dark wood with a matte finish that I wanted from day one when I built the house. I would (and already have) recommend Totta Hardwoods to anyone looking for refinish or install of hardwoods.

Great... Just make sure you have all of the furniture out of the way so he can focus on cleaning the floor.

Called Mike to ask for an estimate for a new home we are purchasing. We need about 600 SF of hardwood refinished and about 500 sf added. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly and we made arrangements to get the estimate. He asked me to text him additional contact info and address. I did. Made arrangements through our realtor to get house opened and took a half day off of work to meet with various contractors. This contractor did not show up for appointment and did not answer phone. Returned my call about an hour later (after we had closed up and left property) and apologized. He said he never marked our appointment on his calendar and never received the info I sent. Seemed like a nice guy but completely wasted my time. Seems a true professional would call if any additional info is needed not just skip appointment and fail to answer phone. Unfortunately this has left us in a predicament because we do not have access to the home until the day we close which is the same day we need work to begin on the the flooring. Because of the strong reviews on this site and the positive feelings from our phone interview we made the mistake of only working with this flooring contractor for the estimate and no others and pretty much got left high and dry.

Extremely well with no problems. Jut make sure the room is clear before they show up, so they can get right to work and be out in no time.

Several pieces of the hardwood floor in our kitchen needed to be reinstalled and nailed down. Mike performed the work at the same time he came out to see the job and give an estimate. We are ver y pleased with his service.

I received several estimates to refinish my hardwood floors. Mike Totta's estimate was the best, and he came highly recommended by a good friend of mine. I found Mike to be very pleasant and professional. He caught all the other "issues" with my hardwood floor and stair installation that the other floor companies pointed out. He even identified an issue that no one else caught. I was impressed from the start. So, we negotiated a price, and I gave him a tentative start date. Thats where my appreciation for Totta begins. My general contractor, who was handling all the other aspects of our home/kitchen remodel was behind schedule! I had to contact Totta flooring several times to see if they could delay their start to accommodate the other contractor. They worked with me and were very pleasant. Finally, I had them start their job, which included sanding all the floors, filling in the cracks between the existing hardwood pieces with wood filler, sanding again, staining the floors (we had selected 4 different options, and they even put all 4 of them on the floors so we could decide which one we wanted), adding 2 coats of protectant, and then they waited for the cointractor to finish their work and then they came back for the final coat of protectant.I stopped by several times during the process and found the employees to be competent, professional, and willing to answer my many questions. Finally, when the work was done, we settled up, and I can honestly say working with Totta hardwood was a most pleasant and easy experience. I thanked my friend for his recommendation, and will continue to refer Totta hardwood flooring to my friends. Great work guys! Thanks.

It was a pleasure to work with Mike, Ben and company. They were always cordial and friendly with all interactions. We live in a one hundred year old house that needed new floors added and some floors refinished. One of the bedrooms was in particularly bad shape, but they made the repairs appear as if the perfect floor had always been there . Matching the color was a challenge, and we had a minor issue with the color of the floors once they were first added, but Totta Flooring made it right. Aside from one unexpected subfloor issue (no fault of theirs), our initial bid and final bill came in right on target. We couldn’t be happier with the final product. We would recommend them to anyone, and plan to use them again in the future.

Even mediocre companies occasionally do good work. It is how one (company or person) reacts to adversity that makes one great. That being said Totta Hardwood Flooring is not a mediocre company, they are a great company. My call for an estimate was answered, appointment set, quote given, offer accepted and work completed on time. The results; beautiful. I could not have been happier. I was on a strict time schedule with other remodeling projects to be completed before floors could be refinished and had a scheduled time for furniture move in. Mike had assured me that if I gave them three or four days they would deliver. Everything was on track and terrific until it wasn't .Through unusual circumstances (super high humidity in May) , miscommunication and or misunderstanding of communications( no one told me to leave the air conditioner on in an empty house at 70 degrees) and just bad luck ( a corroded battery cable needed a wrench to loosen and the tool box was in the kitchen) my beautifully refinished floors ended up with my teenage son's large sneaker covered prints from the living room to the kitchen. This was on Friday morning of the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend with furniture being delivered Saturday afternoon. It was a gut wrenching discovery that Mike found and informed me of. On the drive over to inspect the situation I was imagining the worst; that they would leave me with a disaster, no plan for repair and the need for a mountain of money to fix the situation. Thankfully this was as far from the truth as you could get. Mike was professional, reasonable and helpful. I could not change the date of the furniture delivery but I could delay the time which I did. All the floors had to recieve another coat. Totta Flooring would cover the extra labor cost and I would be responsible for the actual cost of the supplies ( which were nominal, under $100.00). Late Saturday afternoon my floors were once again beauiful. I can not thank or recommend Totta Hardwood Flooring enough.

Overall the job proceeded on schedule and finished in 2 full days. They were at my house by 8 a.m. each morning as promised. Their sanding machine picked up most all of the dust as it sanded, any remaining dust was removed manually. They cleaned up after themselves each day before they left the project. They showed great attention to detail and kept me informed as to how the project was progressing. There were a couple of dark stained areas on the hardwood flooring in one of the bedrooms. They managed to sand and buff them out to the degree that you really don't notice them (I'm very pleased). The final finish left the floors looking as good as new, or maybe even better, since I didn't see them 70 years ago. I am "So Satisfied".

They did the work for a great price. The work was beautiful. They really saved the floor and brought it back to life. They went in every part of the house and made excellent recommendations on how to repair the damaged areas.
