Description of Work: They were everything and more for their attention to detail. They came on time and began working with right away. Going through stacks of paper all over my front room. Went from one stack to the next. Making files and helping me through each stack. We worked four hours straight. It went excellent. The room is in pretty good shape. I am having them back Wednesday for further clean- up.

Description of Work: We just remodeled several rooms, including the kitchen, but it was overwhelming to put the kitchen back into place. We had no idea how much stuff we had stored in every nook and cranny of the kitchen. Helen came in and just took charge. She got a quick assessment of what we wanted and off she went. Within 4 hours, the kitchen was completely turned around and organized so well, we almost didn't recognize it! It was wonderful! She put things in much better places that made us wonder why we didn't think of that! It is so much more efficient now and we can find EVERYTHING! We will definitely be using Helen for other organizational needs!

My first time ever hiring anyone of this nature to help me. After downsizing, and 30 years of raising a family and being ultra busy with work, school, and a traveling job, this needed doing. However, it seemed to only be the beginning of a very large job and turned out to be just a drop in the bucket of what I felt I needed. Rather than continue to pay someone that much money, I have purchased some books and DVDs to help me get through the rest of it without spending so much money. In the end, I need to know how to do this, and I need to take the time to learn it. It doesn't seem very smart to hire someone for $150 to give away 3 bags of clothes to charity, and to have barely made a dent in my bedroom closet and drawer organization. That's $50/bag of clothes I gave away! For me, the old-fashioned slower way of learning through reading books, hands-on experience and finally knowing how to keep my bedroom clean and organized when I'm done is better. If I only pay someone to help me get it done, it will be a mess again in no time.
Description of Work: Helen was busy, so I got Erin. Due to weather, we didn't get together til later than I wanted. She spent 4 hours trying to help me go through my clothes in my bedroom, and begin to put them away. She took 3 large garbage bags away to charity for me.

I’m sorry your experience with us didn’t match your expectations. Your review caught us by surprise, as Erin reported that not only were you very pleased with her work, but you planned on having her back. Unfortunately, our progress and speed on a project is completely controlled by our clients. Somehow we either didn’t communicate this to you, or it was neglected. If you felt that sorting your clothing alone would have been more efficacious, you could have tasked Erin with other organizing duties; our time is completely at your disposal and discretion. I’m very disappointed in receiving such a low grade; this is actually our lowest rating on Angieslist yet. Erin is favored by most of our clients, and a very hard worker. I apologize for your dissatisfaction, and we will be clearer with our clients going forward that they dictate both our tasks and efficiency.

We asked for help in just two days' time, so Helen sent a woman that worked with her. She was on time, worked hard, and left us with completely organized rooms (pantry and walk-in closet) and tips to help keep them that way. What I would expect.

Very well. Very professional and courteous. She knows her craft. Many ideas, tips, and tricks we never would have thought of. Highly recommend for organizing any place in your house or business.
Description of Work: Provided ideas/feedback on organization for all kitchen cabinets, pantry, two closet spaces. Physically did most of the organizing and didnt wast any time getting to the task at hand. Not only organized, but gave us tips on how to make things more effective with boxes, bins, baskets. putting things together that we use often, or all items used to make bread, or full meals. Separating items that need to be stored at different temperatures. etc. Listened to our needs and our meal planning and worked with us. We will definitely use again for garage, closets, and full storage areas! A+

With two four hour segments, Helen and her associate helped me sift through office details, personal items including clothing, food and cooking storage, tools and various other items that needed sorting, organization, removal and included reviewing an entire system of household locations for all of the items noted for the sake of convenience and accessibility. Helen will be coming back for at least two more four hour sessions, I expect, as we continue to get a fully organized household system. Actually given this excellent service by Helen, I rather expect that some periodic follow up may be to our advantage in keeping the household well organized.
Description of Work: For a total of 8 hours Helen and her associate evaluated and helped me organize a massive accumulation of personal items most especially in our basement including office, living and storage spaces.

It was a huge relief to have Helen and Tanya's help. They did a great job on the 4 rooms they unpacked and organized. They were friendly, professional, detail oriented, and also helped me with furniture placement. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing help in this area. I will be asking them back to help organize our garage now. It was great to have both the labor help and the moral support during this stressful time.
Description of Work: We just moved into a house in Overland Park from Seattle WA. Helen and Tanya arrived promptly at 8am the day after all our boxes were unloaded. They unpacked all boxes in Kitchen and living room and organized and put everything away in the Kitchen. They also were able to unpack and organize the dining room and the two children's rooms.

I called the number on the card that was given to me and spoke with Helen personally. We set a time, which happened to be on the weekend because that worked best for me. Very timely and professional when it came to scheduling the appointment. On the arrival date, I like most people I'm sure, had already begun starting to try and rearrange the office myself. As Helen and I entered the office, she jumped right in and began asking specific questions about my office. What would I be using the space for, what type of work I would doing in the office. Would it be used to entertaining? Would it be used for work? What things did I need to keep in the office and what could I move out? I have several book cases in my office, all of which I had not only filled with books, but also tons of keepsakes and memorabilia items on the fronts of the shelves as well. Helen and I slowly started going through these items and deciding what would be good to keep on display and what could be moved to another location, or taken down completely. The process continued with us going through the boxes and deciding what would be need and what wouldn't be. Helen worked hand in hand with me in helping me make the decisions I needed to make. Someone with my type of personality wants to keep everything, but Helen respectfully and skillfully made valid points about certain items: would I really be using these items, or could I do without them? Should they be moved to the garage? The basement? The car? The living room or kitchen? She helped me determine where certain items would be best suited. About halfway through the process, the office was starting to really open up and I started relaxing a little bit about the process. But at this point, Helen made sure to continue to push me to finish. Some final decisions still needed to be made about the desk and several other file cabinets. What information would I be storing in these things? How much space in the desk and file cabinets would be needed for future documents? How should the current documents be arranged? What stuff could I throw away (I had receipts and manual from things I no longer owned!). Helen continued to push me to make decisions about my office following through to the fullest. After the process was over, we both stood back and looked at my new home office. I was very impressed that in such a short amount of time (about 3 hours) we had accomplished so much. My office was now a open, clean and very useable space. I know that some people I have talked to since this event took place have made comments about how it seemed silly to hire someone to help you organize a room. To that I would say, until you have experienced using Organized by Helen, you really do not know what you are missing. She was extremely friendly, professional, detail oriented, respectful and experienced. She very quickly help me determine not only what I would be using the space for, but how to go about preparing the space for the work I wanted to get done it. I was extremely satisfied with not only Helen's skill as a professional organizer but her friendly demeanor and overall attitude about the job as well. I would recommend Organized by Helen not only friends and family members, but to anyone who has that one (or two maybe!) rooms in their home that just need to be better organized! Thank you very much Organized by Helen, I have my home office back!
Description of Work: Helen worked hand in hand with me to help me reorganize my home office. Recently, my parents had begun the process of moving away after they are both retiring. With that, came a ton of stuff that they wanted to give me. I quickly found myself filling my office with more and more clutter. Finally, I just got fed up with not being able to use the space in my home as an office. I tried several times to go in and organize my office myself, but found myself merely moving stuff from one place to another and then eventually becoming frustrated and giving up. I had a mutual friend in a networking organization that had used Helen's services and really enjoyed the process. So, the services that Organized by Helen provided to myself were helping me re-organize and d-clutter my home office.

This experience was simply incredible, and I wish I had contacted her sooner! It is such a relief to have my closet and kitchen wonderfully organized! She is an excellent organizer and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I felt at ease the entire time and never felt forced to make a decision. Her background as a therapist really shines through her approach and is what sets her apart from any other organizer. I will be having her back to help me with my garage! Oh and you can't beat her rates! Working with her is money well spent!
