Always reliable and reasonable

Jeff has worked on three different projects for us now. He has always shown up when he told us he would be there, arriving early every day and often working more than 8 hours. In addition, he has always been willing to explain what he was doing and answer any questions. His crew is equally hardworking and thoughtful about minimizing damage to our property. He always tries to be as accomodating as possible to minimize any disruption caused by the work. His bid included the extras that one might not think about such as planting grass. He cleans up thoroughly when he is done so there is no need to pick up after he is gone. He is also flexible. He needed hay to cover the grass seed, but since I already had hay he had no problem adjusting his quote and using the hay I provided. The work was scheduled well in advance since it was winter when we asked him to put this job on his list. Then we had to wait for good weather for him to work it in. Once the weather improved, he gave us a date and was here exactly when he said.

We talked with Jeff, the owner, during the summer of 2008. Our yard needed restoration since it had sat ?idle? for 2 years while the home was in probate. Jeff said that it was really too late (July) to do much restoration to the lawn. He suggested that we call him in early February so he could get us on the books for March. When I called in late February to talk with Jeff he PROMPTLY returned my calls and/or emails. We were having a patio built and wanted to wait until it was completed before we had the yard work done. Jeff said to just let him know and he would work us in. We set up a date and he and his crew were on time, ready to work, and did much more than I expected. We are very pleased with the work and the professional way in which it was completed.

We were delighted. Jeff and his crew were very professional. He made a point of understanding what we wanted, made some excellent suggestions and was flexible to changes that we decided to make. Once the job was started, they worked nonstop until it was finished. It was the first time we've had work done that was a pleasant experience and not a hassle at some point. Would absolutely never use anyone else.

Jeff and his team did a wonderful job. I'm always nervous about contracting with anyone for the first time-- especially for this amount of money. But, Jeff was professional, had come with strong recommendations from Angie's list, and showed me an impressive book illustrating the quality and scope of the projects he'd worked on. So I took a chance. We had a bit of weather that delayed the start of the project (December -- what are you gonig to do) -- but Jeff got on the job in early January 09 and was doing such a great job with the 1st retaining wall that I'd contracted for, that I immediately contracted with him to do a 2nd wall. He did an excellent job all-around -- from exeuction, to timeliness, to cleaning up the yard after the project. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone. You simply don't find contractors of this calibre very often -- he's great.

The experience was great. The beginning of the project took a little longer to get going due to weather complications, but Jeff and his crew did the work in the estimated time frame and the price didn't change. They were professional and nice and did a great job.

The job couldn't have gone better. He had originally provided an estimate which included pavers instead of the concrete. After a discussion with him he stated that he thought we would be happier with the stamped concrete and it would be cheaper. He was right, it looks great and we will not have to worry about grass growing up between the pavers. He and his crew completed the job in two days. It's beautiful and we couldn't be happier. He was totally professional and offered good advice when solicited.

I originally contracted with this company because of drainage problems on my sloping property which was causing severe erosion. I was impressed with Jeff Watkins and his professional analysis and possible solutions. I received an original bid for the installation of the catch basin, the rerouting of the water flow to the creek and the installation of the path of stepping stones and the edging and river rock along the pathway, which I accepted. He came out several days before the job, and after clarifying what was to be done, I expanded the job to include the concrete patio and additional pathway. The crew arrived on time and worked hard even during extremely high temperatures during the 2 1/2 days it took to complete the job. Cleanup was great. Jeff even went out of his way to correct an electrical shortage in our pond at no charge, and took care of filling in a well left from a recent tree removal. The individuals were extremely polite and cooperative. What I appreciated the most was that Jeff made sure that he and his crew were clear on my expectations on each phase of the work to be done. At the end of the project I was extremely pleased with the results and I am looking forward to working with them again on the next step in my landscaping plans.

When I came into my backyard it was like opening up a Xmas present. I would recommend his service to others and I will use him again in the future.

From start to finish Jeff was a pleasure to work with. Professional, prompt & understanding of my schedule. The results were great. We were extremely pleased with all aspects of this company & their work.

This is the second job he has done for us, and an outcropping of the initial job last month. (Our initial job -see previous report- included the replacement of a major break in our side step.) He was able to work us into his schedule quickly. The weather was ideal for the first two days, but he returned for three hours plus in 32 degree rain and wind to finish the job since we were having company for Thanksgiving. I believe Jeff & Nick went beyond expectation and we greatly appreciate his attitude and professionalism.

Work completed was very professional. We were very pleased with the overall design. Added a couple of items at no additional cost that were not in the original agreement. Jeff responded in a very punctual & timely manner to completion data that we requested. He went the extra mile to insure that we were completely satisfied. He was punctual, professional, and we are having him back for more work. He kept us informed to his schedule and reviewed the work with us. He worked with us on any changes that needed to be made.

He has also given me a bid for more landscaping that I'm planning on doing next year. The owner was very responsive, adapted to my needs, gave me suggestions I hadn't even considered, and was willing to go the extra mile to make sure that he did his job well.

Jeff Watkins gave a very competitive bid. From start to finish, he and his crew were very professional and did quality work. His job was completed on time and the finished product is beautiful. We have had many compliments on his work from neighbors.

Jeff was prompt and professional. During our initial meeting, he mentioned that they were booked for the next couple of weeks. I was going to be on vacation the following week and mentioned that I was hoping he could fit me in. Sure enough, he was able to get the work done while I was home. He did a beautiful job. The patio extension looks great. After working with Jeff on this project, I've decided to go ahead and have him do some landscaping work for me in the fall.

JEFF'S QUOTE WAS THE MIDDLE OF THREE AND HE SEEMED KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE AND HIS GUYS WERE POLITE AND WORKED HARD IN THIS HEAT WAVE. FIVE DAYS LATER I WAS SPRAYING THE EXTRA SAND OFF THE PATIO. SOME OF THE SAND LOCK BETWEEN THE STONES WAS VERY SOLID BUT SOME WASHED AWAY. ALSO A FEW OF THE LIMESTONES WERE WOBBLY AND I NOTICED THEY WERE JUST PLACED ON THE WALL INSTEAD OF FITTING SECURELY LIKE PUZZLE PIECES. I CALLED JEFF TELLING HIM OF MY CONCERNS. HE TOLD ME I SHOULDN'T BE SPRAYING WITH A NOZZLE BUT HE WOULD COME BY AND CHECK THINGS OUT WHICH HE DID. HIS RESPONSE: SAND LOCK WAS DOING WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO & SAND ONLY SPOTS LOOKED LIKE ''SOMEONE DUG WITH THEIR TOES'' (I HAD POINTED OUT DIFFERENT AREAS WITH MY TOES) NATURAL LIMESTONE ISN'T SMOOTH & CAN'T BE STABILIZED. TELL THE KIDS TO STAY OFF THE WALL & THE DELIVERY MAN SHOULDN'T HAVE WALKED ON THAT PART OF THE WALL. HE THOUGHT IT LOOKED GOOD & WASN'T GOING TO REDO ANYTHING.

It was great working with Jeff and his crew. They were very flexible with the scheduling and he was on time for every one of our meetings. Jeff is very knowledgeable with the materials and tools and gave us a number of good ideas on our design. The entire crew worked very hard on our project and went beyond what I had expected. They took the time to take care of unexpected problems during the course of the project and cleaned the worksite when they were finished. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would not hesitate to have Jeff back to do other work for us.
