I needed a walk out basement door. I found a storm door and an actual ProVia door I like very much through them, they customized the door for me. The actual door is metal that they finished on the inside and outside. The gauge is much heavier than what you would find at a box store. They trimmed it up very nicely. It’s a very good match, I’m very happy with it. It has blinds on the inside of the door. I am very satisfied. They were very professional.

My garage door needs replaced. They sent someone out that I think is new to the business to write up my estimate. He missed an awful lot on the door. He knew some of the things to look for but not everything. I don't know if that is a good reflection of the company but, they might just be trying to keep up with the current demand.

Bernie the salesman showed up on time and brought his apprentice. They were very professional and answered all my questions. I had seen a review on Angie's List saying Bernie never provided the user w/ a quote. I assumed this was a fluke but verbally confirmed w/ Bernie before he left that he would provide a quote before that evening. 3 days go by and I never received a quote. Bernie had kindly provided his business card so I sent him a quick note thinking it had slipped his mind. Here I am a month later, still no quote. No worries though, I can only assume how someone who is not eager to provide pricing would perform the actual work and in what timeframe. I definitely wouldn't call the company again though. I'd hate to waste Bernie's time and my own again.

The install crew showed up on time and professionally installed the entry pieces and door. The entire job when well and the pieces all look great. It is nice that the installers can do all that is needed with changing out a door and they could even take care of the security system issues...nice not to have to make another call just to hook up the wires. I thought it was nice they Berry had a trainee and it is good to see local companies taking the time to have their experienced installers train someone new. The place was spotless when they left.
Description of Work: Received a quote for a door/entry replacement and place the order. Although they are not the cheapest door mfg and installer, I always felt that I was getting a good value for the money. High quality materials and installation...much better than the subs that the big box guys use.

They did an awesome job. They make their own doors. The sales pitch that I had seemed like it was gonna be a better door for me than just someone who gets the door from somewhere else. I'm pretty happy with the money I spent for it. They did pretty much everything I asked of them. I even had them put in a door that I ordered that was not through their company but they installed that as well and they also picked it up from a company that they don't even associate with. If I had another to do like that, I would use them again.

A polite no would have sufficed instead of the ridiculous sales pitch.
Description of Work: No work performed just left message because I needed patio sliding glass door repair. He called back next morning. He asked if I would want an estimate on install because aluminum frame was hard to repair and difficult to find parts. He said he would hate for me to pay $85.00? Service call and $120.00 per hour labor if they couldn't fix it

I have been very pleased with them. They didn’t come on the exact date they thought they were going to come. However, I purchased the doors directly off the showroom floor and they had to make some repairs to it, so they were a couple weeks late. They were very professional, clean, and got the job done well. The doors are beautiful and I am very happy with them.

They did the install, looked good, I must say these windows are plastic junk. 1 window won't lock, I had them out ,after pushing up and down on all 4 corners at the same time, they were able to get it to lock. Same window same problem ,This never happens on the other windows. BEWARE If you have a brick home without insulation in the wall. Your wasting your money, My Elect Bill is the same. Wish I would of got new storm windows, instead. Havent recooped any of the $10,000 yet. The bottom seal on front door is junk, when it comes to screen doors , I payed top dollar, for junk, My friend just got a security screen door from Lowes, it has 3 latches and can withstand 20 blows from a baseball bat.

We were in the market for 3 new doors in our home (front, interior to garage, storm) and priced out a couple different options 1) purchasing the doors/materials on our own and having an installer do it or 2) going through a one-stop shop like Berry for everything. Our house is 65 years old and the doorways aren't the easiest to work with so we had a lot to think about. We first talked to an installer we found through a friend of a friend and he stopped by for an estimate. He was fairly cheap, $200 each for each of the 2 main doors and $85 for the storm, but we'd have to buy all the materials on our own - doors, paint, hardware, etc. This is how I usually do projects and save some money but we wanted this job done right....not 'rigged'. The installer gave us the door sizes and then it'd be up to us to search for and purchase everything. At first thought, we didn't think it'd be too much work but after browsing Lowes & Home Depot a few times, we soon learned this would be a pretty daunting task. There was a lot to think about (what type of doors, quality, color, hardware, framing size....and on & on) and after a couple weeks of doing this, we decided to price out some one-stop installers. After searching Angie's list, we set up appointments with 3 companies. Each came by to show us what they had, price out what we wanted and give us their best sales pitch. Honestly, they were all very nice guys and we liked what they had to offer but a few things stuck out about Berry - 1) they were cheaper than the others 2) had the exact door style we wanted 3) were a one-stop shop where we didn't have to worry about a thing after we placed the order 4) everything would be done in 1 day. We felt very comfortable with the salesman, Jerry, did some negotiating and placed our order. They said it'd take 6-8 weeks before they were in and ready for install but after 4, they called saying they were ready. The install was 8/27 and we could not be happier with the choice we made. There were 2 installers there by 8am who worked diligently through a couple tough openings he had, being a 65 year old house, and paid very close attention to detail. they were finished by 2pm and aside from some dusting we had to do, the doors were 'move in' ready. My wife and I are extremely happy with how they look, the work that was done and price we paid. We figured it was maybe $700-$800 more than having the installer do it after we bought the doors/materials but after seeing the finished, we figure it was more than worth the extra money. We would HIGHLY recommend Berry Door.

Bernie of Berry Door came to give me an estimate on two door replacements - one of which I needed to file an insurance claim. he was punctual for the appointment, but unresponsive after that visit. He said he'd have an estimate in 24-48 hrs, but after 6 days, no estimate and no call to explain why. He didn't even return my calls. Finally, a week later, a vociemail with the estimates. I called him back to request something in writing to send to the insurance company, but as of several days and several calls later still nothing. Steer clear of Berry Door (or at least this sales rep) if you expect service.

The high efficiency storm windows are a good product, and the sales staff spent considerable time helping us select just the right line for our needs. However, we were not satisfied with their installers. One frame was bent during installation, and both sales staff and installer seemed unclear on how the storms were to be caulked. After many phone calls and e-mails to Berry Door, we called the window manufacturer ourselves and got the answers we needed. In general, I think the product and sales staff did an OK job, but we would not use the company again due to the poor installers.

we had a door on there that had a rotted frame, wind and water used to blow in around it. This door takes the brunt of every storm so it was really important that we had a good door. they suggested a new door and storm door. They took the bare wood frame down and replaced it with a plastic covered material on the outside. They raised the door some as the patio isn't sloped the right way. They inserted flashing at the top which was why we had the problem to begin with (the old door didn't have it). In short, we could have gone with a cheaper company but we were so worried about the special conditions and the importance of having quality work that we went with them. We got what we paid for. The installers were focused on making sure no water would ever get in. They showed us and explained the work step-by-step. They were awesome!! I will use them again when I replace the rest of my doors.

The door installation involved a large glass indert in the door, glass sidelights and a glass transom. We decided to use decorative rather than clear glass and decorative glass options provided by Berry door was superior. Also, Berry Door was much more attentive to our requirements during the initial contact phases. WE are extremely pleased with the final product and have received numerous complmkents on the new door. We are also extremely please with the entire process from initial contact through installation.

Called to report that water was infiltrating above an exterior door after a rainstorm. The doors were installed approximately 2 years ago to replace sliding glass doors. The new ones are outside swing french doors. Noted that after a rain there was water coming inside the house from above the door. After inspecting outside I was able to determine that the door was installed without a drip cap and that the vinyl siding above the door was simply caulked down over the top of the door. Over time the caulk gave way allowing water to enter over the top of the door, and into the house. Not only is caulking the siding down over the door not recommended (http://www.structuretech1.com/tag/where-not-to-caulk), but leaving out a drip cap should be a NEVER event for an installed exterior door, especially from a door installation company, in my opinion. I called to request service and was told that it is this companies usual practice to install replacement doors into the place where the old doors were located, without modification or correction of any identified prior installation deficits. Im not sure how the old sliding door was flashed or sealed, but upon removal of that door I would expect that a door installation company would note lacking or inadequate flashing remaining at the opening and make attempts to rectify this situation. I would have happily paid extra for this piece of mind at the time of installation, and would have happily been MORE satisfied with the service that was able to recognize a potential problem and make an attempt to fix it. Im talking about a $5 dollar piece of flashing, and maybe an additional 5 minutes of work during the door installation. OK SO GIVING THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, I DID ASK IF THEY COULD COME AND PERFORM THE NEEDED WORK TO GET THE DOOR SEALED AGAINST RAIN AND WATER INFILTRATION. I ALSO ASKED THAT THEY FLASH THE OTHER DOOR THEY INSTALLED WHICH HAS NOT YET LEAKED BECAUSE THE CAULK WAS STILL INTACT. The person on the phone was happy to take my information and stated that my area service agent would be in contact with me to arrange an appointment, evaluate the situation, then provide an estimate. SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN IT RAINS AND I'M WAITING FOR A CALL BACK? This is not what I would call prompt service for a water infiltration problem. Do you know how much water comes off the side of a house and above a door? This is not a situation that can wait. Regardless, they never returned my call. It has been almost one month. They do have my number, I gave it to the agent and had it read back. They have my number on the prior bill of service for the installed doors. In the meantime, I have already done the work myself. I just could not sit by and watch water come into the house and ignore it because of a small piece of metal that was not installed during the first door installation, or during the replacement door installation.

Recently had a new front entry door put in by Berry Door which we were extremely satisfied with and after installation was complete, we realized that the garage door looked and sounded horrible. We called Jerry Wilson to discuss and he returned our call in less than 24 hours and came to our home that afternoon. We ordered the door and were told that it would be about 3 weeks because we wanted windows in the door, but it was ready much sooner and installed in less than the 3 weeks. Very happy again with Berry Door!

We ordered the first two and then part way into the process we decided to add the third door. As a result, it took a long time to have the doors arrive for install, however it was worth the wait. The installers did a perfect job on the installation, were punctual and professional, and did a great job cleaning up. They are beautiful.
Description of Work: Remove and install three doors- one was a fiberglass front entry door with side lites, custom glass; another was a sliding rear patio door; and another was a steel door going from the house into the garage. Included new trim and locksets. Labor included custom painting, haul away, siding re-wrap.

My wife and I went to the showroom after reading the reports about Berry Door on Angies List. The gentleman (sorry I can't remember his name) who greeted us (within minutes of arrival) was extremely helpful in dealing with our questions and ideas. He set up a call from the local rep, Jerry Wilson, with a promise that he would call us within 24 hours. Jerry responded as promised and came to see us within a very reasonable amount of time. The doors took a bit longer to get in than promised (only about 1-2 weeks longer), but once we received the call and the appointment was set for installation, they arrived right on schedule and had all four doors installed and clean up done in a little over half a day. The doors are great! We love the front door, it really adds to the curb appeal of our home and we especially love the rear door with the swinging side-lights as there is no window in that particular room and now we don't have to leave the door open anymore. Jerry and all the guys who did the installation were very nice and great to work with. We would highly recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: We ordered 4 doors; one front door with 2 side-lights to replace a double door; another door in the rear that has 2 swinging side-lights (open as windows) to replace a double door, one of which did not open at all; and 2 "standard" doors.

They were very nice and they gave us an estimate, but we ended up going with a gentleman who has done work for our friend.
