They gave the best estimate. Responsive, punctual, professional and very nice people. They cleaned up afterward very well.

I have been using their services for about ten years. They do good work. They come on time, the prices are a bit high but the work that they have done has been quite satisfactory.

I met Bob, the Sales Rep., when they did a neighbor's air conditioner, so requested a bid on my system as well. Bob seemed to know his stuff and spent between 1 1/2 to 2 hours doing a thorough review of the existing conditions, doing heat loss calculations, and providing a bid. We decided to go with another bidder with a lower bid and similar reputation, but may have used Snelling if their price had been lower.

Our air conditioner stopped working (the fan was still working but the air was not being cooled), so I called Snelling Co. Inc. based on positive reviews I found on Angie's List. They were very courteous and professional from the moment they answered my phone call. Since it was not too hot that afternoon I opted for an appointment the next morning rather than paying for an "emergency" appointment that evening. The young man who came to fix our A/C was able to immediately identify the problem as a blown capacitor which he replaced in just a few minutes - a quick and inexpensive repair.

I called on a Monday morning after my central air conditioning failed on a Sunday. A service tech came out promptly on Monday and determined the compressor had failed and we needed a new system. A sales rep. came a few hours later with information and prepared an estimate. They were able to arrange for an installation the next day, which we appreciated as it was very hot and humid. They deducted the charge from the service call from the price of the new system. All of the reps. and techs were very polite and professional. The techs installed the system in a few hours. They were careful in my home and cleaned everything up. Very professional and courteous service. I appreciate the fact that Snelling does not use subcontractors, only their own employees.

As a woman waiting at home for a service person I often get a little nervous about a stranger in my home. I was getting ready to call the only heating/cooling place I had seen around based on Grand Ave. in St. Paul, but wasn't sure, so I checked out Angie's List. To my surprise, the reviews didn't look good so I called Snelling Co. I called in the AM to see if by happen chance we could get someone over to take a look at our air conditioner in the afternoon. They said they would check and within minutes I had a call back confirming someone would be over in a two hour window of time in the afternoon. The service person was prompt listened to me describe the situation checked everything out and immediately went to work to correct the problem. Within 20 minutes, he had assessed the problem, fixed the wiring of the unit and was back upstairs reviewing the issues with me. My A/C was fixed and cooling my house. It was also diagnosed that we had a shorted out part that will need to be replaced before we use our heat again but we were not pressured to replace on the spot; it was suggested we wait 'til fall. Within 2 weeks the same issue was happening where our AC was running but not cooling our house and I was like, great I'm going to get charged again for the same problem. I called Snelling to send someone out again same day service and surprisingly same service person who re-directed where the A/C air was flowing and didn't charge us the second time. I will continue to call on them and highly recommend them!

I had been using the Snelling Company for my periodic furnace inspections for years. So, when one of those inspections found that the furnace needed work, I thought the cost of repair was too much to spend on an old system. I asked for an estimate on a new one. The sales person that came was knowledgeable and spent a couple hours with me explaining the new approach and answering my questions. He left printed material and a written estimate, I thought about it for a couple weeks all the time asking the him more questions by phone. When I understood what was proposed, we signed the contract. The two-man installation crew came a few days later, first thing in the morning, and by 4 pm the new furnace and air conditioner were installed. Now a month later, all seems fine and I am satisfied.

They were very good. I was very pleased with them when I asked about equipment they had plenty of information for me. They put in a bigger furnace and a slightly more efficient air conditioner for a few hundred dollars more. I ended up getting the extension on the warranty for free. I would recommend them and use them again.

A representative from Snelling came out to my house to do a bid on removing my old boiler and replacing it with a new forced air system with A/C. A $16,000-$18,000 job. The representative was on time and very polite. He took measurements and spent some time talking with me and discussing where to put returns and other related items. I showed him a quote from another local company and he said that was a good quote. That was the end of it and he said he would contact me. I waited a few days and did not hear back from the representative. I called him and he said that I would be better off going with the other company. He did not seem to want my business. So I am going with the other company. I was a little disappointed that he did not even try to give me a honest bid. I guess if you're that busy you can turn down business.

We had gotten a few estimates and the price was in line with other companies. They showed up when scheduled and did a very thorough job. They were clean and professional. We were happy with the repair on the chimney.

Professional, thorough work, as usual. They always take their time (at least an hour, usually longer) and do it right. We also discussed someday having furnace air duct cleaning, and there was no pressure to have it performed (or have it performed by Snelling). When I asked about someday having a maintenance check of my hot water heater, James advised me to have the maker do it for as long as the water heater was still under the company warranty--I appreciated his honesty and the way he didn't try to persuade me to have Snelling do it now. James even performed (without my asking) some air conditioner maintenance chores I generally do myself--putting bleach in the a/c drain hose for me, and hosing off the debris from the outside of the a/c housing in the yard. For no extra fee, he also added new putty around the outside hose where it enters the house when I asked him about it, and leveled and attached more firmly the loose thermostat in the house that had been poorly installed by the furnace installers a few years ago. The Angie's List "coupon" for Snelling lacks details and an expiration date, but he honored it anyway, so the final cost was 10% lower than the usual cost for their a/c and furnace maintenance. He mentioned that the Angie's List coupon was a better deal than the coupons they send out through the mail for $20 off.

We have been consistently very pleased with them. They have installed furnaces, water heaters and other things and they have always done good work. Whenever we have had any emergencies they have been very quick to respond. They are always there when they say they will be and they always call ahead to confirm appointments. I would highly recommend them.

The reps were always at the house on time on the scheduled day. The workers used cloth to protect the carpet and cleaned up the mess before leaving. The individuals that did the duct cleaning did a GREAT job at cutting through the paint on the registers without damaging them or the wall paint. The accountant/billing rep Virginia was especially helpful by faxing over a document within an hour of my request, even though this was prior to when the bill would typically have been cut. I will use them again. Their price is high, but they carry great brands, Trane and Lennox. It is expensive to buy quality products, but their labor was reasonable.

They were very courteous and did a very good job. My air conditioner is not the usual air conditioning system. It is not connected to the furnace but is a separate unit. They explained everything to me and charged me what they said they would. It was a great overall experience.

First, a service professional from Snelling came to look at our old furnace. Bob came to our home twice to give detailed estimates. In both cases, they were considerate, clean, and very detailed in the information shared. We saw on consumer reports that the most important factor in furnace quality is service. We had four companies give estimates and chose Snelling because of their superior service. Their estimate was a bit higher than some of the other companies, because the other companies were selling a different model of furnace that happened to be on sale. We chose Snelling anyway because of the high quality, responsive, knowledgeable, and considerate service. When they came to install the furnace, they cleaned up our furnace room considerably.

My heater wasn't working, so I called and scheduled an appointment with this company. They were able to schedule a visit for the following morning. The receptionist/scheduler was very courteous on the phone. Later that day, the heater started working again, and so I called to cancel the service call. Once again, they were very nice on the phone. Good experience overall, and I will probably call them if I have any other problems with my boiler.

Bob came to look at the job. He called a day later to set a time to meet again in person to go over the estimate, which I liked a lot. He was very friendly. His estimate was the lowest by $500. They finished the job in 2 days total. I asked to modify where they put the new furnace the second day they came, which they did at no extra cost. The only problem I had was the vents for the high efficiency furnace was not done according to the contract that I signed. They were supposed to install using a duct kit so that I did not have a foot long pipe sticking out from the front of the house. When I came home I saw the 2.5" PVC pipe sticking out around a foot from the side of the house, and since our house is right a 1.5' away from the side walk, it looks very ugly which I wanted to avoid in the first place. So I am stuck with a house that looks like a car with an exhaust. On the other hand, I can say the duct work look very nice.

Very disappointing, my sister had used them to replace her furnace. The employee who came out to give me an estimate didnt even look at my system details, he stood about 6 feet away and chatted with me about regular boilers vs high-efficiency systems. He did write a very clear estimate that was delivered the next day. The estimate split out the different options and how much each would cost. Also said that we needed a chimney liner, when we really didnt. The least expensive option for boiler, water heater and chimney liner was close to $8K. We ended up contracting with another company, who did a detailed inspection and really assessed our heating needs. They noticed that we had a boiler far larger than what we needed, a really complicated backflow prevention valve to remove (from our houses days as a HUD house, we suspect), and supervised my husbands install of the water heater, for half the price and more than double the customer service.

Jon Prudhomme came 3 times to work on the estimate and explain choices and options to me. He was always prompt. He returned phone calls promptly. The installers were not aware they were to modify the fresh air intake and didn't have the supplies to do that. One quick phone call to Jon, and the problem was solved. Someone brought out the needed supplies and the work was all done as planned. Workers were polite and professional. Did a good job cleaning up and removing all the debris. They were able to test both the AC and furnace and everything worked right away.

The salesman worked with us to make recommendations and answer all of our questions (even returning our calls on the weekends). He really knew his stuff compared with others who quoted the job. The installation went fine, crew was very professional. The only glitch we had was a manufacturers recall for a small in an air cleaner, the manufacturer was (Trane) not very responsive in providing timing for this part. It was a bit frustrating, but Snelling handled it professionally.

He showed up on time in a company van and uniform. Very professional. He was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He communicated well when I asked him questions and I didn't feel rushed. He promptly mailed a written estimate as promised.

I was quite please with everything. I believe if I would have just mentioned in the beginning that the compressor was bad, John would have gone over both options of replace the compressor or replacing the whole system. They had the best price and best equipment. They were on time and gave an estimate of the length of time and it took that amount exactly. Very professional and knew what they were doing, both sales rep and service man. The only minor part was the sales rep and I played some voice mail tag where we were leaving messages because we both had busy schedules. This added a couple of days. But everything was worth it in the end. They tested the system at the end of the work and had my system running at better than average efficiency.

Our furnace/boiler was not working since last spring. Snelling came and checked it out, did maintenance and explained to me how we can maintain the system better in the future. He fixed the problem, and explained everything he did. He was very professional and helpful.
