It couldn't have been better!
Description of Work: Had a no heat situation this week & the outside temperature was 5 degrees. Time of failure was 8 PM. Called HomeSmart and a repairman was there by 10 PM. Heat was back on by 10:30 PM. There was no charge to me as we were subscribers to HomeSmart. We pay them $22/month. This one furnace call would have cost me more than the yearly payments to Xcel Energy. An earlier call for a water heater problem (failed exhaust switch) just adds to my opinion that this service can't be beat. With the labor & parts costs we see these days, this service is the best deal a homeowner can have. I highly recommend it.

Description of Work: Air conditioner would cycle on for only a few minutes and go off. As only my furnace was covered by the contract I call an Angies List Recommended company to look at the air conditioner; their tech stated I needed a new air conditioner system. I then called HomeSmart as the furnace blower also works with the air conditioner; The HomeSmart tech found the problem to be a faulty condenser on the blower motor - no cost to me but if so it was only a $30 part

Description of Work: Actually came out to give a price for new AC/furnace combo. Sales rep. badmouthed other installers and price quoted was 2x any price i had previously been quoted. Thinking that is how they make money as i think alot of people believe they have to use a Homesmart installer to get the rebate and don't check with other companies. You can actually use just about anyone you want. When I hired my installer i got an invoice to send into Homesmart for my 750.00 rebate. Homesmart took months and numerous phone calls to get my rebate to me. Actually think my call to Angies List complaint department had alot to do with it. They contacted Homesmart about the delayed refund.

Mike came out to give us an estimate and knew we had to make a decision quickly because our old furnance had broken down twice already in the winter season and it was only December. After having all the estimates we decided to go with Xcel who then sub contracts the work out to another company which was Haley's company. This made us a little nervous if something went wrong and who we would call etc., but we figured they were the company our electric and heat were supplied with, so they shouldn't be a problem, I was wrong. We had an appointment to have the furnace installed on January 2nd @ 8:00am, and they said it would be done in one day and we could have the inspection done another day. Well the morning of the appointment they called to say one of their techs called in sick, and would have to reschedule. This was upsetting as I had taken the day off work and now would have to take another day off to have this done again, also I wondered if I had an problem and the tech called in sick how long would I wait for service. The next week we set up another appointment for a couple weeks later. The tech came, but only for a few hours and said they would come back another time to complete the work, well several weeks had passed and I heard nothing so I called them about coming to finish the job. They had come back one evening to finish the work, because I was not going to be taking another day off work for them to complete what should have been done in one day. The tech finished and left not letting us know how to change the filter or how to program anything and the caulk used had holes and was letting all the heat out, also the pipe outside had to be moved away from the windows by state code and that also was not done. I called to have the tech come out once again to fix these problems and again they had to come out and complete all this work. This was way too many trips and time for something that should have taken one full day to complete it had been 4 months. Finally I thought this nightmare was over. When we purchased the furnace we were told we would recieve a gift card, well that finally came after all the time we had to wait to get this completed and the gift card was wrong. I had been told they knew what I had been thru and would let their supervisors and others know what was going on, but they never made an attempt to resolve any of these issues. They were all talk but no actions were being done.

Xcel offers this service to their customers but they subcontract the work. My auditor was very professional, but answered any questions I had. The big surprise for me was that I assumed my windows were shot and I was losing lots of energy through them but according to Dirk, the auditor, my windows are OK (not great, but not bad) it's my doors that are really costing me! He printed out a dozen or so pages of evaluations and recommendations for me to keep. Well worth the time and money!

They did the final connection but left all there garbage, duct tape, sharp wire, and debris scattered all over my driveway and back yard. They had sloppy disrespectful workers.

I called them about my furnace, and I was disappointed that I couldn't get a response from the answering service. I was able to get through finally after waiting on the phone for over 45 minutes on a second call attempt. Finally, they did send someone out the next day who was pleasant and did a great job. I have a problem with the response from X-cel Energy. Normally X-cel is great, but it is with the response from the 24 hour answering service that we have an issue with.
Description of Work: We belong to a service that they offer that covers our gas appliances and furnace. It is considered a maintenance plan.

The guy showed up and installed it. Also took time to tell me what was wrong with my AC (it's old and the compressor motor is dying). Did a good job and was friendly/professional.

Judy was extremely nice and helpful. I called her several times with questions about the whole process. We needed the lines put in a very specific way, so as not to interfere with a future garage build. My only complaint is that they won't mark the line. You need to call Golpher-1 for that, probably for safety and liability reasons. They showed up when they said they would and the work appears to have been done well. Good job!

I HAVE A HOME SMART CONTRACT WITH THEM AND PAY A MONTHLY PREMIUM. I CALLED THE OFFICE STAFF AND ASKED IF THEY COULD PUT IN A NEW THERMOSTAT. I WAS TOLD IT IS NOT PART OF MY CONTRACT, BUT IT WOULD DEPEND ON THE TECH WHO CAME OUT. BRENT THE TECH WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE CHECKED ON MY FURNACE AND HAPPILY TOLD ME HE WOULD INSTALL THE THERMOSTAT. WHEN HE LOOKED AT THE THERMOSTAT I BOUGHT, HE DISCOVERED A PART WAS MISSING, BUT GAVE ME DETAILED STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO DO IT MYSELF. I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR HIS EXCELLENT SERVICE. I WOULD GAVE AN A+. THE PRICE IS PER MONTH TO REPAIR ANY MAJOR APPLIANCE THAT BREAKS IN MY HOME.
