Mike's Custom Mechanical

After finally getting the appointment scheduled the actual visit was quick and easy. The technician didn't find any issues with the furnace so I can't comment on any follow up service but the initial visit was great!

It was fine. We had to do a couple of re-schedules because of something to do with the availability of their technician. But eventually, we did get the time ironed out and he did show up and do the inspection. Everything seemed fine. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. The technician seemed competent. He explained what he was looking at and why it was important to have it in good working condition.

Horrible experience that nearly burned out our furnace motor and had to be fixed by another service.

The inspection went ok. However, when I later had my furnace replaced, the other company said that I actually didn't need to have the igniter replaced, which was some additional work that Mike's Custom Mechanical recommended I had done. Other than that, they were easy to work with.

They reached out promptly to schedule service. The service was performed well and the technician seemed very knowledgeable. The only downside is that I had asked if the tech could give us a quote for additional services, and I was told they could. When the technician arrived though, he said he could not provide a quote. I followed up with calls and emails requesting a quote and did not get a response. So although I would have been willing to use them again, I'm not sure I would make the effort since I didn't hear back last time.

He did a decent job of looking at the furnace, but there was still a problem with it after he left. We had to contact someone who specializes in Lennox furnaces because Mike's Custom Mechanical couldn’t do the repairs that were needed. The guy who came nice and friendly, but he wasn't able to get the job done.

They did well. They thought I needed a new heat exchanger. Centerpoint maintenance said not needed

The technician was on time and performed the required service. He was very good about explaining what he was doing. I asked about the igniter and after finding out that they last for about 7-8 years, I had him replace this. The new igniter cost $125.

The service itself was fine. The guy arrived on time and was friendly. However, I noticed that our furnace was making a weird noise and addressed this with him. He told me one of the motors was going out but couldn't tell me an exact time of when it would go out. He quoted how much it would cost to fix it and finished up. Later that day, it actually went out. I tried to call him back during business hours to have them come replace the motor. I left them a message and indicated it was urgent. I have not heard back from them EVER. I had to call another company to come out and pay for emergency hours. I would never recommend this company, ever, because they won't answer their phone NOR did they even call me back. The initial service was acceptable and fine but the follow-up after that was extremely disappointing.

This work was fine. There was one person that came to do the job. He was prompt, professional, and explained what he had done.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked great. They came out within a few weeks after I purchased the deal. Everything was fine except the thermostat was not re-wired correctly when it was hooked up. Their guy was pretty friendly and did everything I asked him to do. The thermostat was an honest mistake. It was a great price for what he did.

Signed up for the daily deal for a furnace tune up. They were really nice and showed up on time. After 1 week we were having problems with our furnace so they came back out for free and fixed the problem

The service person arrived on time ans was pleasant and professional. He explained what he was doing and added clear caulking around windows, doors, and other areas that were letting in cold air. He did a good job, and I could tell the difference in how warm my house felt. He also recommended some other steps that I could take using some other service person (such as added base shoe to the baseboards upstairs, where I had had carpeting removed).

Bought the big deal for furnace cleaning. Ryan did a great job explaining what he did and my furnace's performance quality. Really liked that when he arrived, he removed his snow boots and switched to indoor sandals. Gas line install and range was just OK. It took less time and money than quoted since he was able to use some pre-existing iron tubing. A couple hours after installation, we still smelled gas in the house. Called, left a voicemail and got a call back from the office. Ryan was able to come back to our house within 30 minutes of our call to seal two small leaking spots that the sensor picked up. Obviously, I would've preferred that the job was done right from the get go, but their response to our follow-up call was great. Ryan was professional and friendly. He went above and beyond the services I purchased. I had a small puddle of water next to my hot water heater and he visually inspected it. He explained that there are a couple leaks on top of the unit and it will need to be replaced. He also gave me a couple quotes on a new hot water heater. I probably would've gone with the company if the quality of the gas line/range install was better.

We got a quick service from them, and it went well. We are probably going to ask them to do a replacement for us. He wanted to come hours earlier, but then he was there when we wanted him to be.

Office help was great! We scheduled multiple times, only to get a call at the last minute to reschedule due to personal problems! I'm a General Contractor (40 years) so I'm used to hearing excuses, but finally I said I wanted the inspection done by Mike himself since his employee's weren't reliable, so we'd wait to fit into his busy workload??? Friday was the day he could make it, fine, I'll meet him on site Friday. Side note: Thursday night we received 11" of snow, so with a friday 10:00 - 11:00 window per "Mike's" request, I get up early to plow myself out to travel from Champlin to Edina... Traffic and roads were almost impossible, but I'm in up to my neck to consummate this inspection! Mike calls me at 10:00... HAS to reschedule! I tried to understand his personal problem, and said I'd put a lockbox on the job so he could access ASAP. He guaranteed me that he'd get to it if not Friday, Saturday. I told him to call with his results after completion. NO CALL... Monday his office called to reschedule. W**? Really? Gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe he went there, and just forgot to tell anyone, but Nooo, he forgot about it totally! Primary concern is that the furnace is leaking carbon monoxide into the home! Come to your own conclusions.

The service is fine and I have no complaints.

That turned out just fine. They were on time and clean. They did what they were supposed to do. Just one technician came out and it took him less than an hour. He was also very friendly and courteous.

We purchased the Big Deal on Sunday and was supposed to hear from them by Tuesday. We did not. When Angie's list offered to help us make contact, we still heard nothing. It is now a week later and no contact was made. I feel like they should be working for my business and when they promise to contact us they should.

Left several messages for provider to schedule service. No messages returned.

The cleaning and inspection went as planned but I needed additional work done and they did not have the parts on the truck. I was told someone would call and set up a time to do the additional work. I called twice over the next month with no answer. No one ever called back about the additional work. The service people did there job the office people did not.

Excellent! Quick, in and out, very trustworthy.

Right on time, went right to work. Very good experience. Will definitely call them in again when needed.

The service tech was on time and got right to work. He provided a clear explanation of what he did as well as explained the current performance of the unit. No frills. He did his business and kept it brief, which was perfect.

The service turned out good. I like that he took the time to talk about how old the system was and how long it would last. He was pointing things out to me that I didn't know.
