Mike's Custom Mechanical

Mike came out to my house in the afternoon, and was actually there before I got home. He started by conducting a brief inspection of my furnace system, just to make sure things were hooked up properly. He then went outside and began looking at the A/C unit. He inspected all components and cleaned everything up. I also asked him about a recommendation my home inspector gave me when I bought the house about leveling the unit, because not doing so could damage it. Mike told me this wasn't really true. He actually said it may help water to drain out of the unit when it rains. I've run the A/C a number of times since the tune up and have had no issues thus far. When scheduling the service, I also asked about having Mike take a look at my garbage disposal, as it had fallen out of my sink, and does not seem to operate correctly now. Mike informed me that disposals were not really his area of expertise, but he took a look anyway. He gave me his diagnosis, but recommended I have a plumber come out and take a look as well. I have not yet had somebody else come out and take a look, but Mike's is definitely on the top of my list for people I will consider to come out and do the job. Mike was very professional and knowledgeable, and I feel like Mike's provides a very good service.

The tech was a good sport about a Robin family of birds nesting near the AC. Daddy Robin kept dive bombing both of us out by the compressor but the tech took it in stride. I was very happy with the service and would hire them again.

I was very satisfied. He was prompt and he did a good job. I will recommend him for sure.

Advised me to notify Angies for a refund. I had a difficult time getting a response from Angies, but now have been notified my refund is in process.

I am calling in to get a refund. Horrible responsiveness and zero professionalism. Not contacting someone who has already paid for services is about as bad as it gets.

This was an Angie's List Big Deal that I had purchased for an air conditioning inspection and tune up. My appointment was scheduled for 4:00 PM. I took time off from work in order to be home at that time. At 4:10, the technician called and said he was delayed and was just leaving Edina. We live on the exact opposite side of the metro area, so I knew there was no way he would make it to our house during rush hour for at least an hour. At 6:00 PM, when he still had not arrived, I called him back and asked about our appointment, which was scheduled for 4:00. He said he had been called for help by another technician and had forgotten about me. I was livid by that time, and told him to just forget about coming. He said he was on his way and only 10 minutes from our house. He asked if he could please still come and I agreed. When he arrived, he apologized and seemed to be polite and personable. I do not know what he actullly did as far as the inspection and tune up on our A/C unit. He looked at the furnace in the basement and turned on and off the A/C. He hosed the A/C unit down and said it looks good.

Overall the experience was good. He was on time and the price was fair. I did feel that some assumptions were made about the problem before he was able to do a diagnostic test that made me more nervous about the issue, but in the end, he was able to fix the problem and we're hoping that it doesn't persist!

The service turned out great. The scheduler was really helpful and she went above what I expected her to do. The technician was very thorough as well.

They were great about calling me and keeping me up-to-date. Our systems are fairly new, so it didn’t take long for Joe clean it and check it out. I mentioned to him we were having issues with our water softener, and he took the time to call their master plumber and check it out for us. He gave us an estimate for the water softener while he was here. He was really kind about it and really went above and beyond. He was really good about taking his shoes off. Stacy at the office was terrific.

Tech called in advance of arrival which was nice. Tech completed air conditioning check. While doing the check,noticed ash from furnace. Agreed to have tech do a furnace check for Angie's List price. Found that gas turned up higher than manufacturer's recommendations. Advised that turning level down would likely solve the ash issue and result in the furnace running less frequently which would be more efficient. Would use company again. BTW, been using air conditioning and it's running well.

The service turned out very well. They went through it, and took the compressor outside, and it had a blanket of dust, and that sorted things, so it was very good to have the tune up done. He cleaned all that out. We put their card aside in our air conditioner file, and if we ever have need for serious work on our air conditioner, we will call them.I have no complaints about them. The service technician was courteous, polite, efficient, and he knew what he was doing, and he went and did it.

I spoke with the company and they said they wouldn't be able to service it for a week.

Inspection went well. Technician gracefully answered all questions asked (I have lots of them most of the time). Provided insight on what get be done to better effeciency/ energy cost. Great to work with.

They tried to cancel last Friday and again today to move me to Thursday. I told them up front that I may be purchasing an a/c unit because mine is old. I spoke with Stacy who repeatedly tried to reschedule me. I ended up going with someone else.

The provider was very knowledgeable and provided additional insight as well as recommending services that were in no way a sales pitch (greatly appreciated). We feel our furnace is running more smoothly and we are more confident in maintaining it as well. Would definitely consider them again for future services!

The technician was in and out very quickly and did not give me much of an explanation about the condition of my furnace. It was less thorough and less detailed then I would have liked.

Did a complete inspection and found an issue that we were able to resolve before the cooling season begins.

The service was fine. They came out within a week of purchasing the big deal. I asked them to do some additional service, and so I paid more. They showed up on time, the guy was personable, and nice, and he did the work without any problem.

They did well, everything was fine. They came and did their job, they were on time, they did it politely and quickly. They did a good job troubleshooting it. They diagnosed what the problem was and the person that came to fix did exactly what they had found. I did not spend extra.
