Only two years later we started to see signs of deterioration. After six years the apron needed to be significantly repaired and eventually replaced in year eight. When I contacted Suburban about the damage and subsequent repairs they came to look and said that whoever did the work did not setup the foundation correctly. When I told the salseman that it was his company and that HE was the salesman at the time of the initial repair (I showed him his signature on the original work order) he stammered about having to talk to the boss and headed for his truck. The next thing I new he took off and did not return. Repeated attempts to reach him along with a certified letter to the owner Glen Johnson brought no response I had the reparis completed by another company and four years later they are still holding up. Stay away from this company!!!

The work began on the day they promised and was completed on time. I was sitting on our front porch late one day when one of the workers who was finishing up for the day, came to introduce himself. To my surprise it was Glenn the owner of South Suburban. He was the hardest worker on the crew and it gave me comfort to know he was in charge. I was able to be home while the work was going on and was able to see each step of the installation. They surpassed my expectations. I highly recommend South Suburban Asphalt!

It went very well. They were very knowledgeable and did a very thorough job. They are a small firm and they came as soon as they could. They did an excellent job. If they needed to go down two inches they went down three so the quality of their work was A+. They came back and sealed it at the right time and did a beautiful job. They were very thorough and very good at what they did. They were very nice and easy to talk to. They were considerate and cleaned up. We would recommend them. The pricing was very good and compared to others we were pleased with the price. We shopped around and they were lower so we were nervous at first. We would absolutely use them again.

Got an estimated in April that was 20% cheaper than the nearest competitor. It took a couple of months to do the job, I guess mostly because of the rainy Spring, but they did a fabulous job. All of the folks I dealt with were exceptionally nice.

I'd rate South Suburban Asphalt higher if I could. They were fantastic to work with - their estimate was $3500. The two others I received were $5700 (Plehal) and $5500 (forgot company name). Glen from South Suburban came out for the estimate, and made suggestions to widen the driveway in certain spots. In addition, he made several other suggestions that made perfect sense, and I (and the other companies I received estimates from) never thought making these changes. I have a small hill going into my back yard where grass never grows. I wanted South Suburban to create a "ramp" there with asphalt. One of their employees suggested it would look better if I got retaining wall blocks and build steps there with a landing. I agreed, and that employee basically did all the work building those steps. He did the digging, laid the blocks, etc... At the time, I wasn't sure if I would be charged for that or not - nope, it was just part of their service. The total bill was higher than the estimate, but only $374. They estimated putting in 8 inches of base, and actually put in about 18 inches (and more in some places). South Suburban (with my approval) charged me for the additional base, but not for any of the additional labor. They are coming back in the spring to do sealcoating that will make the asphalt look like cement. I'll post another review at that time (and maybe some pictures too!).

They did it all in one day. They left the site clean when they were done. We also had them come back and seal coat our driveway.
