Paul and his crew are probably the best group with whom we have ever contracted. They are professional, friendly, and go the extra mile to be helpful and responsive. The work started as soon as practical in spring and was completed in a most timely manner. Paul did not know exactly what he would find under the old deck boards and was able to cope with surprises very well and at a very reasonable cost. The deck is large (about 1000 sq ft) and we are completely satisfied with quality of work and the speed with which it was done. Paul screened the existing balcony so that it blends right in. Kudos to Paul and his gang.

It went very well ( with the exception of the supplier of the material having back orders and one time sent the wrong item , but that was not Mr. Klingbeil's fault ), and we are very happy with the result. We have full confidence in structural soundness, very pleased with aesthetics, and would like to compliment him for having very smart capable people working with him. This was a challenging project requiring the removal of a rather large set of concrete steps and then replacing with a deck. From our first visit, Paul and his team were very professional and competent. I absolutely recommend using him for any job large or small.

Got my bid promptly but because they were so busy, had to wait 30 days for the actual work to begin. They started as promised and only took 2-3 to complete the project. All the guys were friendly and polite. I will be getting a bid from them again to work on our basement.

It went well. I did not start looking for a contractor until the middle of August. Paul Klingbeil said he could do it in October. They removed the old deck 10/1 and the new deck was completed 10/6. Paul and his crew worked through the cold, damp, windy weather we had in MN last week and got the job done. It looks great. It's a 12 x 14 cedar deck about 5 feet off the ground; no stairs; aluminum balusters. The old deck was installed by the previous owner about 25 years ago and was attached through the original siding. This caused the wood behind the siding to rot. It had to be replaced and added $100 to the original bid. I am glad the damage was found and that it could be fixed so cheaply. The total cost was under my $5000 budget.

We did not have the project completed through Paul but only because another provider was able to start the project earlier. Paul was very professional and prompt in all correspondence.

Klingbeil Construction built a 220 square foot addition on our home in Hopkins. They opened up an exterior wall to add a family room off our kitchen with a walk-in closet/mud room and new entry area. This included a full 220 square foot unfinished basement storage/workout room beneath. The project was completed in 10 weeks. Paul Klingbeil, the owner, was involved during the entire project. Paul is an excellent communicator and we always felt like Klingbeil Construction was truly focused on our project. We received several quotes from other companies but never felt comfortable with any of them until we found Klingbeil Construction on Angie?s List. Nearly everyone comments about how well our addition fits with the look of the original exterior profile of our home. The siding, soffits, and windows all matched up perfectly and Paul even found a way to re-use the gutters he had removed when opening the outside wall. He created an inviting back steps entrywith permanent decking materials that is a pleasure to come home to. Paul and his carpenters are talented and fast. Inside, the new space is warm, inviting, and practical. Paul recommended a Brazilian Cherry wood floor to connect the kitchen and the new room and this worked perfectly. He also suggested a vaulted cedar ceiling which we love. He was able to tie into our existing furnace and air conditioning and those mechanicals, plus the electric, were all well executed. Paul is a detail person and worked through custom requests in an exacting manner. He met every challenge our 75 year old home presented and we absolutely love our new addition.

Paul with Klingbeil Construction was very prompt in initially responding to my calls and providing a quote. They were able to meet our tight timeframe and even moved us up a couple of days in their schedule. The workmanship was very professional and we are happy with our new deck.

Paul was very professional and came up with a detailed deck plan. He stuck to the plan and pulled the permits needed for the job. He gave frequent updates and If there were delays he called and made sure I knew what was going on.

We hired Klingbeil Construction to finish our basement in November of 2013. We had bid the job out to several other contractors and ended up picking Paul to do the job because his bid was price competitive with all of the others and he had more detail in his bid about what exactly was included and what wasn't. We had also had his team do some minor deck work for us and were impressed with how they handled that job. The bidding process with Paul, allowed us to meet his HVAC, plumbing, and electrical subcontractors. This gave us a better feel for the quality of those people that were going to be doing those crucial tasks. Our bid then included broken out numbers for how much each of those things was estimated to cost. Our basement finish was on a unfinished basement that had a basic rough in for a bathroom. We had Paul finish the entire basement which included a bedroom, bathroom, living room, and laundry/storage room. Some unique aspects of the job. * The bathroom and laundry room work required the concrete floor to be broken up to have drains/venting either installed or moved. * We had a mix of dry wall ceiling and suspended ceiling * Laundry and bathroom required venting to be created for dryer / bathroom fan. The initial estimate Paul gave us for completion was six weeks and that is pretty much exactly what the job ended up taking. Over the course of the six week time period that Paul's team was working on our basement we were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism that his team showed. Every night we would come home and go down to look at the progress and without exception Paul had always cleaned up the work site before his team left. Another point I'd like to make is how flexible Paul is when working with a client.. * He allowed us to contract out our flooring install for the entire basement outside of his work. * I had some scrap trim left over from when our house was originally built. He took it and used it during the basement finish and then gave me money off of the price due because of it. * They allowed me to install all of the low voltage wiring to help me lower cost and get exactly what I wanted. * We were allowed to go buy the bathroom vanity and bathroom shower on our own Paul did all of the framing, drywall, and finishing work himself along with a couple employees. The plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and painting was sub-contracted out by Paul. We were very happy with all of the work that Paul did himself and everything the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors did as well. Our only complaint would be with some of the quality of the painting. If we had it to do over we might have found our own people for this. Paul did an excellent job of working with all of the sub-contractors to keep the job on schedule. He also did a great job of keeping us informed of the job progress and was open to phone calls any time during the job. Overall, we were very happy we went with Klingbeil Construction for our basement finish.

I would recommend Paul and his staff to any family or friends. From the bidding process to the completion of the project they were professional, friendly and clean. I'm a perfectionist and was never disappointed. The joints on all the wood trim is great. Sheet rock finishing looks perfect. I would highly recommend Klingbeil to anyone looking for a contractor in the area.

I called Paul because he did our deck a year ago and I know he's a very straight up guy. Last year he did our utility and back door along with a couple deck additions so I knew he would be open to taking care of the doors at my daughter's house. There was some pretty weird things about both doors but Paul and Jason (his main man) did their usual excellent job and everything went great!!! Thanks guys!!!

Outstanding service and final product. Paul and his team were punctual, professional and took a great deal of pride in their work. We interviewed several builders and settled on Paul and our experience could not have gone better. We are pleased with the work Paul and his team did tearing down an existing deck and expanding it. Paul used the existing timbers but had to be creative to build the new structure to comply with new building codes. Whenever Paul or his crew ran into problems, they always made sure they found the best solution. They made sure they did everything possible to give us the best result. The work was completed on time, according to the design, and at the agreed on price.
