It went great. The roots were all cut from my sewer line with a large, 300# machine The technician was very knowledgeable, competent, honest, and pleasant. This was an Angie's List deal. I'm so glad I picked this company. There was no additional charge or attempt to sell further work, as I've often encountered with the deals.

The SOS employee, Mike Bailey, arrived on time and got right to work. After he finished cleaning the drain he took the time to explain to me why it was clogged and what to do in the future so that I don't have to call them again. (one hint - don't put egg shells through a garbage disposal). The price for the service was less than other quotes.

Everything went well. Making the appoint was easy, he showed up on time, and my toilet has been flushing well every since.

Line got cleared after two separate attempts. Pipe may be disjointed.

Never called or emailed, complained to Angie list, the result, call them to find out what happened.

The technician was on time, polite, and knew what he was doing. He did a good job and I was amazed to see him clean everything up when he was done! Washed the floor with some shop towels and cleaned up after himself. He took extra time to put the main line plug back in carefully and seal it up well with wax. When asked what he was doing, he said he'd rather spend 5 extra minutes to get it done right than to have a customer have to call them back. That's my kind of service!

It was awesome from the time I placed the call to the time they cleaned it was just perfect experience. Came an hour before scheduled time finished job really swiftly provided clear explanation of what needs to be done and what is the cause of problem. My experience literally went from start with a headache at 9am to happy by 11am.

As a first time homeowner, when things 'go wrong' in the house, I get extremely stressed. I worry that it's a worse case scenario and immediately try to figure out how we're going to pay for said worse case scenario. Also as a first time homeowner in a new city, I had ZERO idea on who was reputable in my area to call. So I turned to Angie's List to research. I discovered SOS and loved the ratings, reviews, and prices people were paying for the service they received. When I called and explained my situation, the SOS team was immediately understanding of the situation and was 90% sure of what the issue was - and it was WAY smaller than what my head said it might be. We scheduled an appointment for them to come out the following day on my schedule - which was amazing because it's hectic! My appointment was between 12-2pm, and I received a call at 1:15pm from the SOS office stating that their guy might be a little late because he's at another job, and got started later because of an emergency job at 4am that morning. At 2:15pm, I got a call from the actual guy that he was on his way and would be there in 45 minutes. At 3pm, he showed up and got to work, and within 20-30 minutes my drain was fixed and he was on his way. And he put up with my husband's humor - win/win! I am extremely, extremely pleased with SOS Drain & Sewer and will continue to call on them in the future for any needs!

Very quick, punctual, and professional. They performed the work while I had another inspection going and SOS coordinated with them. SOS provided a video DVD of the work completed and explained everything very well, including recommended work on the cast iron section of my sewer line. Highly recommended and I would definitely use them again.

Deal said it included an hour of labor. Tech did not go over that hour but still charged $50 extra to access the drain through the toilet. Did not know there was a fee for that, was not specified in the deal. These "surprise charges" are why I am weary of buying a deal through Angie's list. Scheduler was responsive and tech was professional and polite. Would use again but call ahead andget estimate directly from them and not use the angle's list deal.

Perfect, on time and did what I asked them to do. Mostly listened to my concerns about the job. An old basement floor drain that probably hadn't been cleaned in 40+ years. I did not want the cleaning of the floor drain to cause blockage of the old sewer line running to the street. The tech was done in about a 1/2 hour. The office even offered an Angie's List discount without asking.

Called 45mins in advance to confirm appointment time and that he was on the way. The price was slightly higher than website advertised, but it included a $50 weekend rate.

I read reviews on Angie's List and S.O.S's responses to the few customers who gave a lower rating, and what I read definitely factored in to my decision to call S.O.S. I had also read competitors' responses to those who had less than favorable experiences. With one competitor in particular I was surprised at numerous unprofessional responses that bragged about their high rating ("A" on Angies List) and insinuated that therefore the customer was wrong. I only mention that because if you're one of the unlucky ones who have a less-than-favorable experience with ANY company you want to know that the company will treat you fairly and with respect. So here I just want to give a plug for companies that (best I can tell) do so. So, back to S.O.S! Everything went very well. Randy cleaned the main line, and as I requested also took a look at an issue we had with one of our toilets. Randy was professional and genuinely friendly. Not at all pushy, instead it seemed he wanted to be sure I understood my options (regarding the basement bathroom). He was on time, finished the job efficiently, and clearly explained what he found. Without hesitation I would hire S.O.S again if the need arises.

I purchased the Angie's List coupon for '$199 Main Clean Out' and called their main phone number to schedule. I received a friendly greeting and was assisted promptly by the individual answering the phone. She scheduled me for same day service from 3-5pm. The reason for the "B" rating in the Professionalism category: Promptly at 3pm I received a telephone call from a service tech. There was some confusion though as he told me he had no idea where my home was and that all he had was a phone number. When I advised him of my location he said he needed to call the office because he was working in a completely different part of Minneapolis. Before hanging up, he advised me that he or someone from the office would call me. I waited for a phone call until almost 5pm before calling the company's main telephone number. I once again received a friendly greeting and was told that the tech had phoned into the office regarding my service request. I was then placed on a brief hold; when she came back on the line, she apologized for not following up with me and advised that someone would be out to my place shortly. A service tech did show up around 5:30pm. He unfortunately could not complete the work as he did not have the extension needed to get all the way through our pipes. We were rescheduled for the following day, 1-3pm. The next day, the tech showed up promptly at 1pm and performed the service as requested. Before he began, he took time to speak with me about the issue. We discussed what needed to be done. He advised that due to the extra length needed there would be an additional $20. Once we both were in agreement on the scope and cost of the work, he got busy. He took off his shoes when he entered the home, laid drop cloths down to protect the carpet, and used another tarp to cover nearby furniture. When he was done, he left the work area picked up and clean. We will definitely be calling them in the future when root intrusion is once again an issue. Good price & good service.

Randy was great! I called on Friday and he was honest/upfront about the extra cost for a weekend appointment so I waited until Monday. Randy gave an 8-10am window and called me at 8am to give me a ETA. Randy cleared the clog very quickly and was extra diligent about leaving a clean work area. I was very impressed on how quick and painless this was. I will absolutely be using this company again!

They were great. I like him a lot. When they put the thing that goes into the drain, it was large in comparison to Roto-Rooter that uses a smaller one and therefore they have to come back more frequently. SOS uses a larger one and we like that. They did extra mile. We didn’t know how long our pipes were. He even went out to the street. He took the time to keep going out to see how far it would be because we found out in the street where it comes out. It has a lid and he opened it up. He followed it to see where it goes in the yard. He was extra nice. He cleaned out the drain, unscrewed and put everything in but ours is difficult because we have a hard one that’s really old. He took the extra time to make sure that was all taken care of. He made sure everything was just perfect. He cleaned up good and everything. I was really happy with him. We’ll keep using him. If you mention Angie’s List, you'll get 10% off. I wish that his prices were cheaper.

The technician (I believe owner) was thorough and very clean. Gave me full information about his service. Very nice!

They came out right away even though it was at night since it was an emergency. The task at hand was extremely delicate and difficult since a 5 week old kitten had crawled 45 feet horizontally with the pipe turning 90 degrees at one point! Three men worked tirelessly for over three hours with sophisticated instruments allowing them to see the exact situation in the pipe. They said they were not leaving until they got her out. The kitten came out after being stuck for over 12 hours (we have a complicated setup at our house so it took us a while to realize she had crawled into the drain tile). She was no worse for wear. We, the foster parents, fared not as well from all the stress! Their proficiency, dedication and caring attitude way exceed any expectation! Even though this is a rescue but after witnessing their professional and caring attitude along with their high tech instruments we are sure they would do an excellent job in any situation!

I had SOS out for main line backup on March 6 2012 and again on November 7 2013. On November 7 the worker was 2 hours late out of the"window" they would be here but didn't let me know. Now I have main line backup again today December 8 2014 one year later. My main line has never backed up every year for 3 years in a row. Will not hire this company again. They did not do a satisfactory job.

We called on Monday and scheduled for the following Thursday. Brad came out and unclogged the bathroom sink, and made sure that the main line and the laundry room floor drain were both clear. Brad did a great job and using the coupons and discount saved up a lot of money. We have used this company before and they are great and will call them whenever we have problems with any of our drain.s

I called for service when my waterless urinal backed up and specifically asked for Randy as he has been to my house several times and he is very knowledgeable and does a great job. They called about an hour before the two hour window to say Randy was called to an emergency in St. Paul and asked if I would like to reschedule for Monday or have Brad come out. I chose Brad who called 10 minutes out. Brad has also been to my house a couple of times to video my main and laundry room run and was also very good at his job and very informative and knowledgeable. He admitted right off the bat that he had never worked on a waterless urinal before so it would be a learning experience. I told him that went for me as well. He asked me lots of questions about how it works, the chemicals used and I asked him lots of questions, too. He has done lots of flushable urinals so he was familiar with the trap layout inside the urinal...they are all alike. I had pictures of the behind the wall piping which he asked for. So he went to work and it took him maybe 10 minutes to free the clog. We talked for quite awhile about why this may have happened and he offered alternatives to try to perhaps prevent this happening again which we are going to use. We will see how it goes and will keep the guys informed and hopefully won't need to see them before next year's cleaning of our main. I love Brad and Randy and SOS. Having nice guys like these two is helping to keep me to a schedule for my sewer needs which is good for me and good for business. Thank you!

The service was really good. One person came out and it took about an hour at the most to do the job. I would say they were great. I did called them back and it seemed like they could not come out on the weekends.

Same day service with no emergency fee. Punctual, courteous & professional. Performed the service, cleaned up, provided advice. Will use again if this or something similar happens.

Louis was thorough, friendly and great about explaining some issues he was having so he called his boss to also come and look at the problem. He was good about explaining what needed to be done and was good about cleaning up afterwards. Used Angie's List discount which he already knew about when he arrived. Would use them again!

They were very nice and very thourough. They did not want to give up and did not ask for the coupon; they took our word for the coupon. They were very professional and would have even cleaned up, but I told them I would. They really went above and beyond.
