We've used SOS a number of times in the past for drain clogs. They are consistently excellent. This was a horrible sewer back up, and SOS came out within a few hours on a Sunday and fixed the problem. SOS is friendly, professional, efficient, and will go the extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied. I was happy to pay the extra charge for Sunday service to get the mess cleaned up and the drain cleared. These guys are top notch!

Boy did they come out fast. We called Saturday a.m. and they were out within about 45 minutes. Got the toilet unplugged and was out of there. Great job. Nice guy.

Adam came on time. He was careful to protect flooring from his equipment. He cleaned the sewer, finding a few roots.

We had a sewer back-up during a snow storm and the weekend, but the employee from SOS Drains came all the same, and even called when he was running behind. The work was fast and well done, and he cleaned up after it.

Had no luck with sewer snake - clog was apparently much deeper than what I could reach. PVC from main line to kitchen drain broke off while retracting sewer snake and, after cursing for a while, called Paladin who kindly referred me to SOS to take care of the clog. SOS guy arrived on time and ready to go. Within 25 minutes, he had the clog taken care of and spent the remainder of the hour installing a temp piece of PVC in place so we could use our kitchen sink/dishwasher again. Turns out the pipe threading was completely gone, and so Paladin would need to come out, cut the pipe, and put a more permanent fix in place, as noted by SOS (and which I did within the next 2 weeks). Great company, would totally hire again and probably will need to when tree roots decide to make their return in the coming years.

They were extremely careful with an extremely messy indoor job. They were clean, very thorough and clearly very knowledgeable. They dealt with a very old plumbing very carefully.

We had a plugged floor drain and standing water in our laundry room this morning. I called Jeff and was able to get a technician (Randy) to come to our house within an hour or two of the initial call. Randy was very professional and fixed our problem promptly. I am impressed with the attitude and the service, and would not hesitate to use SOS again.

My kitchen sink had been draining slowly and eventually it began to regurgitate when I used the disposal. This is the first time I've used Angie's list to find any repair person and I am very impressed. I called the first repair service on the list serving my area which was SOS Drain and Sewage Systems at 8 a.m. Then I told the man I needed to leave for an appointment at 10:40 a.m., but would be back by 12 p.m. He said he could have someone out before I had to leave and sure enough, Adam arrived at 9:30 and was finished long before I had to leave. He was polite, professional and fit in the tiny space there is between my sink and counter. It's still draining and there is no more regurgitating. I highly recommend SOS Drain and Sewage Services.

We contacted them at 10 am and they came out by 3 PM the same day. We had been in contact with two other drain cleaning providers earlier and they could not do a same-day service. They came and did a drain cleaning to the street which had some roots. We have had root problems in the past. Then they cleaned a secondary pipe in the basement which leads from the shower to the main sewer line. This was the main issue. The cost was very fair (less than the cost of another provider we used a few years back) and we will be calling this organization in the future for similar issues should the need arise.

Very quick response. The fellow who did the work was through and did a good job of cleaning up after the drain was cleaned. Gave me some tips to help prevent a recurrence of the issue. I would gladly call them again.

I have told others about my experience with SOS and would most definitely recommend them to others. Both the phone experience and the one on one with the service person were professional, yet friendly. I've had the main line done many times over the years I've lived in my home and was either charged much more or left with a mess or given a scary scenario of "if we can't get through the line it may cost you $4000 to have the yard dug out and the problem resolved". It's no wonder SOS has a great rating. They 'walk the walk'!!

Called SOS main number late Wednesday morning to schedule appt. Was called back a couple of hours later and scheduled appt for the next day, late afternoon as the blockage wasn't an emergency; just couldn't use kitchen sink or dishwasher until the line was clear. Brad (the technician) called the next afternoon to give me a heads up that he would be there in 15-20 min. He was courteous and professional and had the line clear within 15 min. and was careful to clean up what little mess was made. Cost was $105 - 10% Angie's List discount = $94.50. Will use again for future drain cleaning.

Finally after four visits from four different professionals, two of them from another company, Marty at SOS drain and sewer services (it appears) has solved my problem. My toilet sewer pipe had a very stubborn clog. The other company was unable to clear it and recommended some expensive solutions. The first professional from SOS was friendly and did a nice job on the laundry room floor drain. He also managed to temporarily open up the toilet pipe and so we thought it was also fixed. Unfortunately, after a couple days the toilet reclogged as he apparently was unable to get his snake all the way though the pipe. It was a Saturday three days later when I called SOS again. Marty was on duty and agreed to come out after a discussion with his boss at no extra charge. No company is perfect, but the measure of a great company is how a problem is handled. I am very happy and give SOS and especially Marty high marks - AAA, - five stars, for their extra effort and willingness to satisfy a customer. This job was not an easy one, Marty hung in there, did a thorough job and got though the clog and all the way to the street. I was also very impressed with the knowledge and courtesy exhibited. So thank you Marty and SOS! I will be telling my friends to call you first if they need a great drain cleaning professional.

The laundry sinks in the basement were @ half full, and nothing was going down. SOS came out, and snaked out the lines. We live in an old home, and where the lines go is somewhat a mystery. The snake brought up parts of a rat and there seemed to be a blockage which the snake could get through, but the water could not. He spent a solid 4 hours trying different things to get the drains to drain. He was patient, focused and professional. The drains work better now than they ever have.

I called about 1:45pm and and a polite man took my information down, including my address, and told me they would call me back. Within a few minutes, Marty called back and asked me if I'd like him to come out today or save a little money and have someone come out during the week. After I confirmed what the extra charge would be, I opted to have him come out today (Saturday). He said it would be early evening before he could make it out and would give me a call as soon as he was ready to come out. He then called about 4pm and asked if now would be a good time and said he was coming from Edina (I'm in Golden Valley). In about 25min he was here and brought in his equipment. He asked if it was ok to wear his shoes in the house. He set up his equipment in the bathroom and had me show him the pipes down in our basement since we're in a town home and he wanted to make sure the line wasn't shared with the neighbors behind us. He then used the auger he brought with him. It was a medium sized powered auger that had an extension on it to make it easier to use at the height he was standing at. Seemed a lot safer design then the augers you rent at home depot and bigger than a drill sized auger. After quite a bit of arguing, he had me go down to the basement and listen to the auger as it rattled in the pipes to make sure it wasn't going into the neighbors pipes. Then he pulled up a plastic bag. The bag must have been there when they built the house 11 years ago, but we didn't know the drain should have drained quicker than it was. Then he had me go listen again as he let some water go into the pipes to again make sure it was draining the way it was supposed to. Then he cleaned up and left everything in a lot cleaner condition then it was when he came. Then he gave me a sticker with their number and his name on it so I have their number ready the next time I need someone to come out. The receipt said their work is guaranteed for 30 days. He was nice to our 5 year old son as well who was asking him a lot of questions. All in all, it was a great experience. Considering it costs $45 to rent my own auger, and he pulled up a large plastic bag, I was glad I had him come out because I would have never guessed that that would have came out of my drain. Next time, I'll try my hand auger like I did this time and get a longer auger from home depot if I can't reach it, but if I have a difficult situation like this again, hands down, I would call this place rather than take a chance on some other place.

The experience was overall pretty good. The $30 same-day fee was completely reasonable. Brad was knowledgeable and professional. He even cleaned up the mess I started.

The technician was late, but with this industry it's difficult to anticipate needing to deal with a bunch of tough drains which in turn throws the schedule off. The service itself was great though - fast, efficient, and very well done (a total of four passes including trying to get through a really tough root) so no complaints!

Bath tub was draining very slowly. Cory was very friendly and professional. He represented his company very well. The draining issue is fixed and I will definitely use this company in the future.

I discovered that my floor drain in the basement was starting to backup on very late on a Saturday night. Luckily, the backup was not that much, so I cleaned it easily. However, I knew I had a problem that needed attention quickly. Whenever the water was used, the drain would backup slightly. I called SOS Sewer & Drain immediately on Sunday morning. The technician, Marty, called me back immediately and stated would be able to make it out to my home that afternoon. Marty gave me a courtesy call at about noon to let me know he was running late and would arrive in a couple hours. I appreciated the update. Marty arrived and got to work. He worked to diagnose what line was having the issue, and came to the conclusion that it was the main sewer. He lugged his heavy snake down to the basement and began clearing it out. It became a difficult process as he began moving large amounts of tree roots. This process took about 4 hours because of the amount of roots and his snake getting stuck a couple times. Marty provided me with several updates on how it was going and what the rate was. I had him stick with it, regardless of the time (he was already out -- might as well take care of the issue). Eventually, he was convinced he made it to the street and was satisfied with the length he was able to snake. Marty was extremely professional and I appreciate that he was able to help me out on a Sunday. I will call SOS Sewer & Drain again in the future for my sewer maintenance issues. Marty rocks! Thanks.

After trying to unclog a shower drain ourselves without luck, we contacted SOS Drain & Sewer Cleaning. We called about 1:30 in the afternoon and talked with Brad. He estimated he would arrive around 4:00 and said he would call before he arrived. A little after 4:00, I contacted SOS to see where we were on the job list. Immediately afterwards, Brad contacted me. An earlier job took much longer than expected and he was now behind. He estimated he would arrive after 6:30. At 6:30, he called and was on his way. He very quickly figured out the problem (we had sewage/waste block and it was coming up through the shower - - yuck!!!) and happily answered all of our questions as he worked. It took about 1/2 hour total from start to finish. We wouldn't hesitate to use SOS again in the future.

After having water back up into our house a second time & seeing good reviews on Angie's List for this company, I called them on a Thursday night. The earliest they could schedule an appointment that worked for me was the next day between 3 & 5pm, but the worker did not show up until around 6:30pm. He verified that the problem was likely the line from the house to the street, as I had expected, but said that I needed to have the city come out to mark the access points outside the house before he could fix the problem. This was the first time I have had this problem, or I would have already known to do that, but I wish it had been mentioned over the phone, so that I could have had this done before he arrived. I was glad that he did not charge me for this trip, but since it was so late I had to arrange for them to come back over the weekend, which was an extra $50 fee. A worker for the city came out almost immediately that same evening to mark the access points & was extremely helpful & polite. Since all he had to do to locate the access points was to use a metal detector, I'm not sure why SOS couldn't have been prepared to do the same. A different worker, #2, came that weekend and was very helpful, clearing the line from the first access point outside the house to the city line. Since the first worker had only said I should have the city locate them, #2 had assumed I would dig them out myself, but he was very helpful in assisting me with that. Again, this was the first time I've had this problem, but expecting me to dig out access to the outside access points is something that the first worker should have mentioned, instead of just saying the city should mark them. Since this work was done over the weekend by #2, who was on call, we agreed that the "emergency" was taken care of, so that he could leave to handle other urgent cases before returning to clear lines in the house that I had wanted cleared. We arranged for him to come back the next Thursday morning, but he called Wednesday afternoon to say he wouldn't be able to, because of truck problems. He said he would definitely be able to come out that weekend, offering to waive the $50 extra weekend fee, as long as I could be flexible with when he could show up. Although I was a bit disappointed with yet another delay, I agreed to this & made sure I was available all weekend. #2 called late afternoon on Sunday, saying he still had several things to do that evening, & could either come when he finished or later in the week. I decided to give the company one last chance to see if they would come through in the scheduled time frame, but he called later that night saying he would not be able to make it. #2 was very helpful the time he did show up, but I was not about to schedule another appointment with this company after two appointments had been cancelled by them & one that was a waste of time (the first, where I at least wasn't charged). At this point it had already been ten days since the initial drainage problem, so I told him I would find another company to finish the work.

I called to schedule and they were able to come the same day. The serviceman Randy arrived right on time and performed the work quickly. He was very careful to protect the carpet around the access hole. He explained there was an extra charge for weekend work but at $35 it was very reasonable. I would certainly use this company again.

We called yesterday (Labor Day) and were told we could have the cleaning performed for a nominal extra fee ($15?). We opted to wait until today due to our own schedules. They called today (early!) to let us know they would be arriving in 15 minutes, which they did. The technician explained what was going on and was very professional. They had the drain cleaned within 20 minutes!

This particular instance they cleared a floor drain. Great job as expected. Not much else to say - It is good to know there are honest people out there. We will definitely use them again.

Brad located the spot and persuaded me to take a chance to see if he could improve the situation. We decided to have him give it a try. I was with him the entire time. He didn't mind in the least. He explained what we were looking at with the camera. He would then try the snake and then go back to the camera to see what if anything changed. In the end, the situation had not improved and we will have to jack the floor to get to the problem. No regrets. While we couldn't exactly determine what was causing the blockage, we learned the exact location and that the pipe looks pretty good on the other side of the problem. Brad was straight forward, knowledgeable and made clear recommendations.
