Chuck was very attentive and thorough. He was able to do same-day work, recommend options, and complete the work professionally. (He was also good with our dogs.) We've used him before and wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to others.

Chuck took extra time to walk me around my new house and point out opportunities to secure the home. He was very generous in sharing his knowledge and the art of securing a home. I was going to have separate keys for the garage and house, but he suggested a master/slave key so that I could use 1 key for both, but then another key that would just open the garage. It saved both money and made it easier for me.

Chuck the locksmith that came out was very professional and quick to make suggestions to save me money on the re-keying. Chuck was very helpful and explained everything he was doing. I feel like I got a great value for the service I received.

He came out and did the work quickly and professionally. He also asked if I would mind if he made some observations and suggestions to make my place more secure. It made me feel like he cared about my situation and the info was free based on thirty years of experience in the business. Was very happy with the job.

The service was great! We just purchased a new house and wanted to have the locks re-keyed. Chuck arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. We had a laundry list of items we wanted him to work on and he offered us advice on additional options for securing our home. We appreciated his advice and didn't think he was pushy with the up-sells. In the end, we decided to do some of the work he recommended, but passed on some of it. He worked diligently to complete all the work and communicated with us throughout the day. We would recommend him to family or friends.

I called because I had used graphite in my lock, which is keyed on both sides of the door, and the key would not operate from the outside. When I called I got an immediate call back and fortunately Chuck was between jobs so came right over. I was sure the lock needed to be replaced, but Chuck did a complete cleaning, explaining that the graphite had likely clogged. I had mentioned thinking I needed to replace the lock and he assured me the lock I have is fine. He also gave me some good advice about my door and security (and even a painting tip for the plastic windowpane!) The lock is working like new. I would call again if I need any lock service!

Chuck was prompt and got out to re-key the locks the same day. Unfortunately, Chuck is also one of those guys who tries to sell you 10 upgrades while he's there using emotional appeals. My dad was in town helping me move and Chuck kept telling him, "if my daughter lived here, I couldn't sleep at night with the locks that are on these doors...etc." I just bought a big, nice home in Eden Prairie--I don't need that! Also, the locks on my doors are new deadbolts--not to mention that the door in question is next to a 6x6 window; if somebody wanted in, they'd come through the window despite what kind of lock I had. He was trying to sell $200 super deadbolts. The nice thing was that he did back off when I told him I wasn't interested. He rekeyed the locks and they keys work fine. Nice enough guy just really "salesy". If you want someone to show up and perform the service you asked without dealing with 10 decisions and emotional appeals, this is not the place for you.

Called Chuck at 6PM on Friday July 5th and he was at my door in Savage in 30 minutes. Replaced the latch mechanism and was on his way in 30 minutes. Awesome service, especially considering it was a Friday evening on a 4 day weekend.

Chuck was our service man and was wonderful! Lockguard responded to our request for a quote the same day and they were able to work around our schedule. Chuck arrived exactly when he said he would (seriously, not a single minute late) and was wonderful! I felt completely comfortable with him and he was able to fix the lock without having to replace it or jeopardize the integrity of the door (my biggest fear). While here, he was able to also fix a jammed door latch. I had forgotten about this issue when requesting the service call, so just asked if he would be willing to look at it. He did and he fixed it on the spot. Would definitely use them again and recommend to anyone.

The service was provided the same day, My call was answered immediately, I rec'd a return call as promised with a time of service. The gentelman arrived on time, in a clearly marked vehicle. He re-keyed my locks, made additional keys in approx. 20 minutes. It is so refreshing to deal with a professional. On time, courteous, reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone, and use them agian in the future. Thank you!!

Gary was fantastic. We had a lock that was old and no longer worked. He took it apart and fixed it as much as he could, searched independently online for a similar replacement lock, and ultimately found a solution by installing a separate deadbolt above the old one and putting a faceplate where the old keyhole had been. The old lock had been creating problems for a year, and a previous locksmith said we just had to get a new door with a new lock. Gary was able to figure out a great solution and we were able to keep our door, which we like. I was super impressed, and he is also a very nice guy. They're reliable and good, and we didn't end up spending a ton of money. Yay!

We just moved into a new house, and Lockguard came out same day to re-key all of the locks for us. Much less expensive and time consuming than purchasing new locks and installing them ourselves. Very pleased with their service.

Told them what I thought I needed, they told me what they thought I needed, and didn't need. On time, explained the process, gave me price quotes before doing any work, and even called me after the work was done with a suggestion.

A new housemate was unable to enter the house using a key I knew worked in the lock. However, the knob and lock had caused numerous other visitors difficulty, so on New Year's Eve I sought a locksmith on Angie's List. Chuck arrived two hours later and solved the problem by unscrewing the knob, repositioning it, and tightening it. He cut a new key that we knew would work and lubricated the lock, which dates to the 1940s. He offered to take it apart to look for a broken part but his tone discouraged me from paying additional for that nonessential service. The lock is functioning well, and I will know how to repair it in the future. He also discussed the pros and cons of a keypad system when I said I was considering that. Chuck, the owner, charged me his regular service call and for cutting the key but not for labor. I feel it was money well spent. I felt it was more than fair and would certainly call LockGuard, Inc. again.

Our back door was made by a company no longer in business. It required a specific lockset. The lock was broken. We called Lockguard. While they were booked up, they made time for us and came out promptly. They were professional and very knowledgable. I especially appreciated the kindness shown toward my children (my son is mechanically inclined and really likes to watch).

Overall it was a great experience

My experience with LockGuard was positive from start to finish. I contacted the company via email on Angie's List after working hours and Ben responded to me the next morning (another company I contacted still hasn't responded). Ben discussed what I needed, made excellent suggestions, gave me pricing, and we set an appointment. He told me his father would be the one to come out for the appointment. Chuck, his father, arrived exactly on time with all tools and materials needed to perform the work. He made a couple of additional suggestions, one of which I took. Chuck also took the time to give me security tips and made a minor adjustment to increase the security of my sliding glass doors at no charge. Before starting the work he wrote down the prices we had discussed to double-check there were no misunderstandings; there weren't. At every step of the process Chuck made sure I understood what he was doing. He also had me check the keys so I could be satisfied the old ones no longer worked but the new ones did. He cleaned up so thoroughly after himself I think my front hall was cleaner after he left than when he arrived. Whenever I need a locksmith, I will definitely call LockGuard.

Ben was timely, professional, and pleasant. When he found that a part was missing (a spindle), he made one himself right on the spot.

Chuck is super nice, honest, and really knows the locksmith business. He fixed our stuck lock within minutes of getting here. I used him once before when we needed our locks rekeyed since my husband lost the keys during a huge snowstorm and we were afraid someone else would find the keys. He rekeyed our locks that time. (By the way, when the snow melted in the spring, I found my keys.)
