STORM DOORS ONLY

Dave was very responsive and professional from initial contact through completion of the job. We first called him to ask if he could take a look at the handle on our storm door to see if he could fix it. He came out the same day, looked at it, and determined he couldn't fix it. During that visit, he explained how we could order a new handle for the door (the number to call, what information we needed to give, etc.) and told us to give him a call when the handle came in. The handle arrived a few days later, we called him on Friday afternoon and he was at our house Saturday morning. He not only fixed the handle, but also adjusted the door and the plates to ensure it closed properly (and gently). Will definitely be passing his name along to friends and family, and will keep him at the top of our list for who to call when it's time to get a new door.

Dave arrived on time and did a great job of installing the new door. He was very professional and polite.

I needed a storm door installed. Or rather, my wife wanted one installed, and her desire became my need. And so I asked myself the first and most important question any ?do-it-yourselfer? should ask before attempting a project: ?Can I do this? Really?? In my wisdom, I called Dave Nelson at Storm Doors Only. He was at my home the same day for a free estimate. We discussed my situation, he made some suggestions, and I shopped the big box stores. Having selected and bought a door, I called Dave again and arranged to have the door installed a few days later. He picked it up, arrived on time and installed the door in less time than it would have taken me to read the installation instructions. If I had attempted it, I would probably still have ended up calling Dave to clean up my mess. He saved me a ton of frustration and the all too familiar embarrassment of the dreaded spousal ?I told you so!? There are loads of people out there who claim to be able to install a storm door properly. Some can, some can?t. Dave is a specialist. This is literally all he does, and he does it well. Do yourself a favor. Give him a call.

I called Dave on a Saturday morning and he was able to squeeze in an appointment for an estimate later that same day. He did his measuring and I selected a door from the line he carries (I had the option to buy my own door but chose not to). We scheduled the install for the following Friday. Dave was on time, installed the door in the expected amount of time and did a beautiful job. He made everything so easy and the new door looks great!

Dave arrived right on time for the estimate and to complete the work. The doors we chose were more complicated than average, and he installed them terrifically. A few weeks later, we realized we needed one of the locks to be adjusted so it would work more easily. He was immediately responsive, came out right away, and worked another hour until it locked and unlocked to our satisfaction. We were so pleased with Dave's excellent work and responsiveness and would highly and enthusiastically recommend him to anyone who wants the job done right.

This was a great experience. Dave responded to my initial phone message within a few hours. We scheduled the install for a few days later. He picked up my storm door at Home Depot for me and arrived on time. Dave got right to work and had everything finished up quickly. Perfect install. The only thing that slowed him down was a quick chat about Anderson vs. Larson storm doors over a quick cup of coffee. Professional from start to finish and an nice guy to boot. Emailed Dave after discovering my storm door had taken a beating after being left open during high winds and no longer closed. He called back the same day and we set up a tme for him to come out and take a look. Dave showed up on time, told me exactly what I needed to do to have Larson send out a replacement part, and then took the door off for me ithe mean time. After the replacement part arrived, I called Dave up again and we set up a time for him to come back and finish the repair. Once again Dave arrived on time and spent 90 minutes in the single digit temperatures reinstalling my door so it was even better than before - what a trooper! His price for the work was also super-reasonable.

Storm Doors Only was recommneded to us where we bought the door. I received several estimates and Davids ran a bit higher but went with him because all he does is storm doors and we wanted someone with experience to be sure the job was done correctly. He did a great job on the new door and fitting the old door downstairs. He answered questions patiently and took the time to look at possible future projects involving other doors. He offered a discount with multiple doors and repairs. We were very happy with his work and will use him for future projects.

Dave got back to my initial call within 48 hours and was able to come out that evening with an estimate for our replaced storm door. He made a few recommendations for us (switching door to open from the opposite direction as to allow for easier entrance into our house) as well as the Larson door that we picked out. Within a few days, he came out on a Saturday and replaced our door in less than a couple hours. The installation was perfect and the new storm doors seals super tight as to not allow any cold air in. Although the price is a little more than going to Home Depot and having them install the door, I think it was worth going through Dave because of his specialization and confidence in getting the job done right. We would certainly use him again.

He responded within a day to our email query that I sent via Angie's List. He came over, assessed the situation, helped us select suitable replacement doors, provided an estimate, and recommended we wait a week until the doors would likely to be on sale. When the doors went on sale, he called to propose a date for the replacements, purchased and picked up the doors, and arrived at our home as scheduled. He worked a good two hours per door and when he was done, cleaned up and gathered all the containers together. He was pleasant and professional at every step. We were billed the original estimated amount. We're very pleased with the doors he recommended and the installation appears to have been very well done.

We had a problem installing a storm door after we had a new exterior door installed by a different company. Although the new exterior door was a standard size, the storm door wouldn't fit because when the exterior door was installed, the installers wrapped the trim with aluminum wrap, which made the opening just enough smaller so that the storm door wouldn't fit. We called David from Storm Doors Only and explained our problem and asked if he could help. We fully intended to purchase a new door through him if he could recommend one that would fit--and if he would install it for us. He asked if we still had the original storm door--which we did--and after looking at the door and sidelite window, he said that he thought he could make some adjustments and get the door--and matching sidelite storm window--to fit. He scheduled an installation date for a few days later, arrived promptly, and completed the job on time in a very professional manner. He said that he likes doing one thing and doing it well. We were very impressed and delighted with his helpful attitude and problem-solving, which saved us from having to purchase a new door. We will definitely recommend him to our family and friends. The day after I called him, he was there with his tools to fix the door. It took him about an hour, very friendly and good to work with. The door is now professionally installed and it looks great. He also adjusted the front storm door so it no longer smashes fingers when it closes.

The installation went very well and took less than 2 hours. Dave knows all about storm doors and particularly likes Larson storm doors for their quality. $150 is the standard price that he charges for installation and removal of old door. Dave was very professional and efficient. He even broke down the cardboard box so I could put it into my recycling bin.

Three of the four hinges on our storm were broken. I called Dave at Storm Doors Only and he told me what part to order from the manufacturer and to call him when it was delivered. He was scheduled to come out after 5:00 on a Friday but called to say he was delayed on a job and that it would take him an hour or so to get to our place; or, he could come out Saturday morning instead which worked out better for us. He had to remove the storm door and cut the metal part with the hinges to fit the opening in the doorway. He then installed the storm door which fit perfectly. In addition, he adjusted the frame so the door would close better. He also came back to install another part to the bottom of the door at no extra charge. I asked him to look at our front storm door as it did not close properly. He adjusted the door so it would latch at no extra charge. He was very professional and friendly and did an excellent job. I would definitely hire him again.

Gave me an estimate lower than a handy man. Received a quick response and estimate. When it came time for the install, he worked around my work schedule. During the install, he encountered some issues that come with an old house and did a lot of tweeking to make sure the door shut securely despite the uneven door frame. Very pleased with his work and his pleasant demeanor.

Dave was very helpful regarding the type of door I was looking at, was prompt, didn't waste time, made sure the door fit properly and insulation/weather stripping was on properly, calking the hole from the old doors. He gave a discount on installation of two vs one. These doors were special order due to color so price may seem higher as the amount spent reflects doors and labor. Dave was courteous, professional, did not waste time and clean in his work. He finished the project earlier than was expected.
