The technician who came was very pleasant, courteous, and did a wonderful job of servicing our unit and informing us what he had done.

Jason arrived on time and once he had time to review the situation, he explained what was needed and the cost. I have been a loyal customer of this company for 15 years and recommend them highly. They also installed my furnace.

It was the first week of the classic, unbearably humid Minnesota summer. I haven't had working A/C for since last spring, however my job now requires me to work from home. I contemplated toughing it out again, but after the first really hot day... that wasn't going to happen. Going through the bid process last summer, I expected everyone to be at minimum 2 weeks out. I called Standard Heating & A/C at 9:30am on a Friday morning, Denise (the saleswoman) was able to move her calendar around, and was at my house by 11:30am, and held a set up appointment for me at 7am the very next day. Mike the technician (& Denise) you can tell they have deep knowledge of A/C systems, and how they interact with your house. Denise got me every discount possible (they offer an Angie's List, and pay in full credits), as well as completely took care of the Xcel Energy rebate that I qualified for. It absolutely sucks paying $3,440 for anything more less something that is essential vital this day in age, and the worst is not being an expert in a subject matter, not knowing if "whoever" is doing a good job, knows what they're doing, or if you're getting screwed somehow. I can honestly just look at all the work that Mike did, and know that his work was 110% solid. He cut new vents, and door sizes to make sure everything was up to code, and fit sealed air tight. He spent another half hour with me after (in sweltering heat) made sure I knew what he did, and what I need to do to maintain. I can't recommend this company enough, and I cannot thank Denise & Mike enough for getting a brand new A/C system installed within 40 hours! Stop looking, and give them a call!

All phases of this project were excellent. The salesman is very knowledgeable, professional and personable. Provided full explanations of options with no pressure. The installation was scheduled in a timely manner. The first (of four) installer(s) arrived right on time and got right to work. Through the course of the process, other installers arrive in a coordinated schedule, which means no one is standing around waiting on another, and they all worked very well together. I was surprised how fast they completed the work. They went above and beyond taking care of everything, considering the "mess" they walk into from the old system. All was completed and they hauled away the old leaving a cleaner space than I gave them to start with. There was never a hesitation to explain and/or ask about certain things. If I came to check their progress I was always greeted with great attitudes and explanations of what they were doing. If the installation required a change to my premises, they asked me about my preference and explained why one option was the best. I was comfortable in their hands. I have used this company over the past 10+ years for normal maintenance and repairs without a problem, but I received several estimates from other companies, some that can't hold a candle to this one, and the feeling of comfort and being taken care of shinned through from the very start, so it was really no surprise when they blew me away with their installation service. I am extremely pleased with the entire process and service they provided me, and am happy to know they will be on my side for future maintenance and service. A+

It was great that they offer service into the evening instead of just between 9 and 5. My service window was 4-7 pm and the service tech called to ask if he could arrive early since he was a little ahead of schedule.The tech was very nice and very professional. The maintenance was performed and I was told everything looks good and received a copy of the inspection/work report. I have been in my house for 16 years now and have always used Standard Heating & A/C. They do a great job!

I called in the morning and was told a technician could come out between 2 & 5 PM, which he did. He diagnosed and repaired the AC fairly quickly. The service provided was very prompt, friendly, courteous & professional. The price seemed fair but I really have no way to judge this.

Paul came out on time to my S. Minneapolis home. He was helpful and professional, and overall a fun guy to work with. I'm a very "involved" homeowner (read: standing over the contractor's shoulder, handing him/her wrenches, peppering with questions) and Paul was very happy to accommodate. The lower unit A/C (I own a duplex and live in the bottom) had stopped turning on, and I feared it was a compressor issue. Turns out there is a safety relay that will now allow the compressor to turn on if the condensate pump (water pump) was not plugged in and active. 2 problems were identified - my pump was clogged and not pumping, and it was UNPLUGGED. Grr. anyways, Paul gave me the option to fix the pump myself which was a great savings in cost to me, and then performed a tune-up and check on both units - all the while feeding me the information I needed to take better care of my two A/C systems. Standard Heating for the WIN. I'll definitely call them again.

Jordan, like all of Standard Heating's employees, is polite and professional. Our air conditioner is 24 years old, so obviously it is near the end of its life. We discussed what we could do to it now to keep it going vs. replacing it with a new unit. He went over all options really well and we feel we had the information needed to make a good decision. We are going to hold off for now and hope it holds out until we replace the unit. It is functioning just fine right now. He also gave us hints on how to run the unit more efficiently during super hot weather, which we appreciated. I have never been disappointed with Standard Heating's service.

The service did not go very well. The technician indicated that the other component in the furnace needed to be replaced and the cost would be around a thousand dollars. I said okay. Then, I had it set-up and I just decided to get a different quote or have another heating company take a look at it and another technician indicated that it really did not need to be replaced because sometimes, these components can go on and on without having to be replaced. It just was not a good experience. I called back Standard Heating and told them to cancel the ordering of the part that needed to be replaced. The other part of it that I was really disappointed was that the technician indicated that it would be around $1,000, but when it was all said and done, it was going to be close to $1,300 or $1,400. I did not like the fact that there was a jump in price and if the technician had been accurate with the actual cost of the component and with the labor, it was not a good experience, but I will have to say that their customer service could have been better. What is really interesting is that the sound that the furnace was making was like a whistling noise. It would kick on and so forth. I decided one day to just turn off the furnace and kept it off for a couple of hours. I turned it back on and the whistling noise was not as pronounced as it was before. I do not know what is going on with it and it is still running fine. It is still working. There was a little fluke with their responsiveness too. They came on time.

Great! The receptionist was very friendly and well-organized, and she gave me a couple of options for scheduling. David was right on time for our appointment, and he had our A/C working again in minutes. He gave me a bit of a cross-sell, but he wasn't pushy about it, which was much appreciated. We would definitely use them again.

It went fine. They preformed the maintenance, but said it was too cold to do some of the outside work. They said once it got warmer, they would call. All of that happened without a problem.

It worked out fine. After the work was done, they wanted to sign us up to a yearly plan but we didn't do it. That is what Standard does when they come out and do one off work. Like if you call and you are not a member of the yearly plan, they ask if you want to sign up for a yearly deal. They did the work they said they were going to do and it was all explained very well.

Jeff was punctual, cordial, and professional. He proceeded in a workman-like manner, and completed the job in about an hour. I had a concern which he was unable to address, but he was up-front about it and said he'd pass my questions on to someone with expertise in that specific area.

Our technician was very professional, prompt, efficient and a dog lover - what more could we want? Due to the cold temps today, they will have to check the AC another day - and they will contact us when the weather is more consistent.

Jeff and Jordan from Standard HVAC were out today to perform my annual maintenance and safety checks on our furnace and air conditioning units. They completed the checks in a professional manner. They used shoe covers the whole time they were in the house and did a cleanup before they left. They also were a pleasure to talk with and addressed one concern we had with the furnace to our satisfaction. Jeff also said that he would include notes in my file as to what they found so in the future if I have this problem again the next technician would be able to read what they found. I have used Standard HVAC in the past and will continue to use them in the future for my heating/air conditioning maintenance. I have never had a bad experience with anyone associated with this company. I bought my present furnace and air conditioning units from Standard HVAC and before that I used Standard HVAC for the maintenance on my old furnace and air conditioning units. Finally, everyone from Standard HVAC who has ever been here has been great with our dogs. Our dogs over the years have always been very social and enjoy greeting the workers who have performed work at our house. Jeff and Jordan are no exception.

We signed up for a tune-up package for the A/C and furnace. Received a spring reminder call for the A/C, was able to schedule 1 week out. Technicians were prompt, provided a call ahead when they were on the way. They provided helpful advice and suggested changing the furnace drain hose to make future cleanings easier ($100), which we decided to do. (Estimated cost above includes the portion of the tune-up package cost and the add'l service we added at time of the visit.) They were considerate and used shoe booties in the house (even on hardwood and concrete surfaces), suggested other ways we can take care of the units between scheduled tune-up visits, explained clearly the answers to questions we had. Chris and Nathan were great! We have used Standard Heating and A/C since the units were installed 8 years ago and will continue to rely on them.

Very professional, reliable, respectful, knowledgeable, thorough and positive, and provided quality service. Employees arrived on time, removed old boiler and carefully carted it out of my house., even lifting the cart a bit on which the heavy old boiler was being moved to make certain that nothing touched or damaged the rubber gasket on the entry doorway threshold which provides a tight air seal. The pipe fittings were done in a way that kept the arrangement of pipes accessible for any necessary access while keeping that assembly in as compact an area as possible. All heat generating pipes were neatly wrapped with a layer of foam insulation and secured with zip ties so that there was no risk to bump or get burned. The work was done over a 6 hour period and, as promised, even though the heat source was out of commission for several hours, the indoor temperature never dropped more than 2-3 degrees. There were 3 types of professionals needed to complete this installation, the technicians who did the removal and installation, the electricians, and the men who did the gas hookups. The project was set up so that each of these professionals was onsite at approximately the time their services were needed. Very efficient. All were here not just to install, but also to check and double check that their installation resulted in correct operation of the system. I was given owner friendly explanations and all my questions were thoroughly answered. The company submitted to the gas company my application for available rebates and I received that check 6-8 weeks following installation, as promised. They cleaned up the work area in my laundry room beautifully and the only way I knew anyone had been working there was the sight of the new boiler and piping. Even though the water and air in the system was thoroughly bled by draining and refilling the boiler, they explained that when water was put back in the system there was always some air in the water, and that the gurgling I heard was air going through, but that should gradually subside. They explained that when blending a new boiler with an older distribution system there may be some subsequent adjustments that need to be made. After 2 weeks, the gurgling was still occurring, so they promptly returned and bled the system again. The air was still in the system 2 weeks after that and, with the outside temperatures in mid-January now very cold, the air in the system was affecting the efficiency of water heating in some of the zones. When I called with this information, again they responded promptly and it was decided to install some additional equipment which resolved the air in the system and the gurgling noises. The same technician who did the original installation came to do the follow-up work and didn't leave until he was certain that everything was working properly. He was very knowledgeable, thorough, neat and respectful, and always gave consumer friendly explanations for what was being done and how it should work. I was very impressed.

We selected Standard Heating & Air to install our new HVAC system. They did an extensive, thorough walk-thru on their initial visit to determine the proper products/system for our home. And they provided 2 (detailed) quotes/options for us before they left. Joe was available to answer my questions, and he came back for a 2nd visit to talk to my husband about the quotes and installation process because my husband was not home for the initial visit. The scheduling and installation process was very smooth. There was 1 pre-install meeting with the installers a few days before the installation, and things went very well during the day of the install. The guys were very professional and personable. They made it very clear that if I had any additional questions about the system or how to program the new thermostats, to just give them a call and they'd either help me over the phone or send someone out. We didn't buy the least expensive system, and we are happy with our new furnaces. Of course, we haven't had an opportunity to try the AC yet!

Joe called before his arrival, which was well within the time boundaries set up. Like all Standard service people, he was friendly and business-like. He readily answered the questions I had about the furnace and what he was doing. I really do feel that they care about my furnace (or AC, when it's time to check that). In the process of checking/cleaning, he broke a small part, which I had been told last fall might need replacing soon. He went right to his truck, got a new part, and put it in--free of charge! I told him I would split the cost with him, as I had been told that it was "weak". "Nope!" he said. "I broke it!" I have used Standard for 10+ years and have found them great to work with.

Standard Heating and Air Conditioning did a great job. We definitely will call them back next year for another tuneup.
