I called and made the appointment and was told it would be $98 per air conditioner. That was fine, I made the appointment and they were able to come out in the next few days. The service person called and they were running late and asked if it would still be ok to come at 3:30. They got here at 3:30 and looked at the air conditioners and right away said that the ductless a/c would not be $98 but $175 to tune up. I wish the receptionist would have told me that on the phone. But it needed to be done so I went with it. The serviceman pushed hard to try and get me to buy their service plan and when I told them I have HSP with CenterPoint he mentioned a few times how that was a waste of money and CP was no good. Around 5:00 they were still working and they couldn't get the a/c to start up. He said everything looks good, he didn't see any immediate issues and he thinks that the Xcel Energy saver switch is preventing the a/c from starting up. I had to be somewhere at 5:30 so I paid them and let them go. The a/c didn't turn on again so the next morning I called to have them come back out. They were going to come out that same day but it started working again around 10am so I called and cancelled the appt. I called Xcel who mentioned they hadn't turned on the saver switch for a few weeks so that was not the problem. A few days later it stopped working again so I called them to come back out and take a look. I was told that if it wasn't related to the tune up it would be a $99 service charge to have them take a look, plus any costs for repairs. I told them it was working fine before the tune up and it didn't work right since then so I didn't think I should have to pay but they disagreed. They were able to come out the same day which was nice. The tech at first thought it was the timer and fixed it. Then he said he had bad news, it was not the timer, it might be the thermostat. So he looked at that and that was not the problem. He eventually said it was our furnace that was not working and it would have to be replaced. Not only that but he said we couldn't use it at all even for the a/c because it's leaking carbon monoxide. So in the course of 2 weeks we went to an a/c that was working fine, to not being able to use it at all because we need a new furnace. He charged me the $99 service fee because he didn't actually fix anything. I told him how I didn't think I should have to pay since it was working fine before the tune up - he said he'd give me a 20% discount so it was $75. I reluctantly paid it because I didn't want to argue with him. The next day I called CenterPoint for a second opinion. They came out and said there was no reason we couldn't use the central air conditioner just because the furnace was bad. He agreed we needed a new furnace but replaced the control board so we could still have a/c and then we'd have a few months before we need to buy a new furnace. He assured us it would only leak CO if the heat was turned on but he disabled that. I went out and bought new CO monitors just in case and haven't had any issues. Needless to say we'll be contacting CenterPoint to get our new furnace. The Standard Heating & AC service guys were very nice and friendly and they wore boot covers in the house which was nice. That's pretty much the only good thing I can say about our experience.

I have been using Standard Heating for 30 years. This my second home so when I needed an air conditioner. I immediately called them. They came out on a Friday and on the following Monday the new air conditioner was installed. They are prompt, competent, and leave the place spotless when done. I would highly recommend them.

He found the problem right away. The AC unit was running, but the fan was not spinning. Replaced a small part to make the fan spin again on my AC unit. $165.00 for a piece about the size of a pop can.

We are on a monthly plan to have our furnace and A/C checked quarterly. This system works out great for our busy household. Standard Heating sends a postcard when it's time to schedule the tune-up and if I'm too busy to call them, they call me. They don't even give up when I repeatedly have to cancel due to unexpected work conflicts. They are also available Saturdays, which really helps. All the technicians are friendly and professional and do a great job maintaining our system. It gives us peace of mind to know our equipment is in good working order. Special shout out to Joe who spent extra time making sure our system was working well and explaining some simple things we could do to help our system be more efficient and work better. He is very conscientious and we appreciate it!

I had a very positive experience with Standard Heating & Air Conditioning. The representative that came out to do the initial consult did a great job of explaining all my options in a respectful and helpful manner. (As a woman with little knowledge of HVAC, I appreciated feeling like I was making my own choice based on the information provided.) Since I was getting everything (new furnace, air cleaner and air conditioner) at the same time, along with a new water heater, there was a lot of activity and negotiating the small space I have. The installers were on time, respectful, and cleaned up really well after they left.

Standard Heating was great to work with from start to finish. They answered the phone when I called and sent out the requested sales rep out the next day. Kelly was professional, knowledgeable, and without any sales pitch asked me what I needed. She inspected the job, made some suggestions about equipment and shortly after leaving sent a competitive proposal. The work was scheduled for the following day and Darak, the primary installer arrived on time. He was courteous and immediately went to work. I have some experience in HVAC and I feel he did an outstanding job with a somewhat unusual installation. When they were finished, I was left with a neat and professional looking job...my highest praise. On the hottest day of the year, I had cold air again!! I have a service contract with them. They are pleasant. They are professional. They explain everything. The electronic filter was 500 and some dollars. He said that I needed a new part for my air conditioner. They had to order it and then, they came back and put that on. I am continuing to use them. They have been just everything you would want in a provider.

Prompt, knowledgeable, professional work, friendly and courteous. Saleswomen was knowledgeable about products, made good recommendations and was not pushy at all. Highly recommend if you want the job done right the first time.

We are now under warranty with them. It required six different visits from different people because every time they found something, they would say that they cannot work on it and they need to send somebody else out to look at it. I had to meet with several different employees.

Joe Slater was very friendly and provided helpful information about our air conditioner. He confirmed that is operating fine, cleaned it, and changed the filter in the furnace.

Our technician, Chris, showed up on time and worked until the job was done. We had cold air within hours and he did a great job. Asked questions about placement of items, showing he cared about what we thought.

Smooth and quick from start to finish. Our blower fan had died, making our AC inoperative with a heat wave due in a few days. Noting the 17-year age of the furnace, the technician who came to service the fan recommended we replace the whole furnace instead of just the fan. Kyle came out two days later (the soonest we could meet with him), took the needed measurements, walked us through the issues involved in sizing the furnace and selecting features, and wrote everything up as we wanted, without any pressure to buy add-ons. Since we were without AC, they gave us a priority time slot for installation, which turned out to be the very next day! Their installers, a crew of four professionals who worked efficiently together, came promptly as scheduled in the morning and had everything done but the electrical hookup by noon. They explained the various elements of the system and said an electrician would call shortly to complete the wiring, which he did. The whole process when much more quickly and smoothly than we could have hoped, and at a price we think is reasonable.

It was a lengthy job, made more difficult because installer of original system had not followed normal practice. Standard Heating completed job as promised at price originally quoted. They remained professional and friendly throughout even though the job ran late into the evening.

Technician came out to do a pressure check on the AC system, inspect the coils and control unit, clean the unit, inspect all lines/ducts, and review the furnace to thermostat connections. Very professional and knowledgeable, and most of all honest.

The service tech, Jordan, showed me the capacitor leaking and asked me if I wanted to replace it. Jordan was excellent at communicating to me what he was going to do, and what needed to be done and why. As always with service techs from Standard, Jordan put on foot covers before entering my home. We have used Standard for the almost 40 years we have been in our home to purchase, install, and maintain our HVAC equipment. They have always been on time, including the time we needed furnace service in the middle of a below zero night. We purchased an annual maintenance plan this year for $232, as our furnace is getting older and needs regular maintenance.
