Description of Work: Replaced the furnace and air conditioner and added some basement duct work. The entire job was completed in one day. The installers found a few things that were not quite right and just went ahead and fixed them. For example, they found that the company that did the duct work when the house was built did not connect the duct work that was supposed to carry heat to one of the bedrooms. They made the connection. We always wondered why that room was always cold in the winter. The salesman was also very good. He spent about three hours checking out the house, taking measurements, discussing the results with us and coming up with a good plan. He made sure that the price included all applicable discounts and rebates. We never felt as if we were getting the run around.

Description of Work: The previous homeowner did not connect the Aprilaire whole-house humidifier to a water supply line. I contacted Standard Heating to complete the installation by connecting the water supply to the unit. Greg inspected the water line and connection for the Aprilaire unit and informed me that to meet current code requirements a licensed plumber needs to install a T and valve for before Greg can connect the humidifier to the water supply line. Greg replaced the humidifier pad and instructed me about the Aprilaire unit's operation. Greg also discussed with me some options for replacing my current Honeywell thermostat with a wifi/password protected set-back thermostat. He agreed to have someone from Standard Htg get back to me.

Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal for furnace cleaning. When I called, they told me that it didn't apply to our boiler, so they would need to charge an additional amount. It would have been nice to see that in the Big Deal info. Aside from that, they were courteous, prompt, and did a fine job on the cleaning and furnace check-up.

Description of Work: Adjusted furnace fan and speed, retrofitted Aprilaire filter and performed annual maintenance. I have used Standard Heating & A/C for many years and their employees are always prompt and professional. They do a great job, so I keep asking them back.

Description of Work: This was a general tuneup for winter. | |The representative was very prompt - even calling ahead of time to pinpoint the time he would be there. |He did a thorough job in checking out all furnace components. He also suggested a combined furnace/AC package for a nominal extra fee (don't recall what it was). They will send a notice next spring and come out for the second visit. This is great for someone like me who forgets about followups. | |I intend to use them again - certainly for emergency service if I ever need it.

Description of Work: This is my second attempt to get a furnace cleaning on a big deal special. I requested a refund for the first one and received a phone call and email from your specialist asking if there was another vendor or service we would like instead. I did the research and found Standard. Their website shows they service the East Bethel area so when I received a follow up call I let your specialist know I wanted that service even though it was almost twice the cost. I made the purchase, received the emails with the confirmation of the purchase and the first refund. I called Standard as the email directed and was told that I was not in the service area. I am very disappointed and disillusioned about the big deal. Why would I receive emails with Big Deals especially for me if they are not in my service area? I would just like my $98 refunded. My experience with the Big Deal has been less than satisfactory and I won't be looking at any other services. Thank You
