(I FOUND OUT LATER FROM THEIR COMPETITOR WHO IS INSTALLING A DUCT SYSTEM THAT STANDARD ONLY INSTALLS THE ALTERNATIVE WALL SYSTEM DURING SPRING AND SUMMER BECAUSE THEY ARE EASIER AND MORE PROFITABLE IN LABOR COSTS). HE PROMISED TO EMAIL ME AN ESTIMATE AND I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM. AS I SAID, A VERY POOR EXPERIENCE.

THE APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR THE NEXT DAY AFTER I CALLED. AT 11:30, THEY CALLED TO SEE IF THEY COULD COME EARLY - I WAS NOT LIVING IN THE HOUSE SO NO I COULD NOT BE THERE EARLIER THAN THE 4 HOUR WINDOW I WAS ORIGINALLY GIVEN. THE FIRST TECHNICIAN THAT CAME OUT WAS EXTREMELY LATE (APPOINTMENT BETWEEN 12 AND 4 AND ARRIVED AT 4:45), DIDN'T APPEAR TO LISTEN, REPEATEDLY TOLD ME THE COMPANY SENT THE WRONG PERSON BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS, SAID THAT THERE WAS NO GAS VALVE FOR THE GARAGE HEATER AND MADE DISPARAGING REMARKS ABOUT THE HOUSE (I.E. DOES ANYTHING WORK RIGHT HERE). THE SECOND TECHNICIAN THAT CAME OUT TO ACTUALLY FIX THE GARAGE HEATER WAS ON TIME, PROFESSIONAL AND QUICKLY FOUND THE VALVE FOR THE HEATER. I ONLY USED THE SECOND TECHNICIAN BECAUSE THEY WAIVED THE TRIP FEE SINCE THE FIRST TECHNICIAN DID NOT COMPLETE THE JOB. OTHERWISE, I WOULD HAVE USED A DIFFERENT COMPANY. QUICK RESPONSIVENESS IS ONLY GOOD IF THE TECHNICIAN IS NOT OVERBOOKED.

IRON, A VETERAN AT STD HEATING AND DAVE CAME TO INSTALL THE A/C. THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO DO AND THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PERFORM A CLEAN INSTALL. I WANTED TO TIP THEM, BUT THEY REFUSED, SAYING THAT THEY WERE PAID WELL ENOUGH BY THE COMPANY AND THAT I HAD PAID ENOUGH BY HIRING THEIR COMPANY. EVEN THE SUB CONTRACTOR THAT CAME TO DO ELECTRICAL WORK WAS PROFESSIONAL, POLITE AND KNEW HIS JOB WELL. THIS HAS BEEN AN EXTREMELY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FOR US.

I DECIDED AGAINST STANDARD EVEN BEFORE THEIR SALESMAN, DENNIS, ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE. IN OTHER WORDS, I FELT HE WAS PUTTING PRESSURE ON ME TO MAKE A QUICK DECISION WHILE USING ME TO SPY ON HIS COMPETITION. Our technician arrived within an hour of the customer's call. Upon arrival the furnace was not functioning. The technician diagnosed a faulty thermostat, quoted the repair price and installed the part after approval from the customer. This corrected the problem. During the service call the technician noticed a potential concern with the heat exchanger. To ensure the safety of the furnace we asked the customer if we could investigate further to conclude with certainty if the furnace was safe. He declined. In response to the customer's request to return the thermostat, I explained electrical parts cannot be returned once installed but did offer a complimentary year of maintenance to ensure the safety. This was declined. Our prices are competitive and we stand behind all of our work with a one year warranty on repairs. We responded quickly both to the customer's initial call and his complaint. HOUSE HAS OLD SYLE GRAVITY FURNACE. SHOULD HAVE KNOWN I SHOULDN'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE AS EVEN THE LADY WHO TOOK MY CALL ''WARNED'' ME THAT PARTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, AND OFFERED TO TRANSFER ME TO THEIR SALES DEPT. TO GET AN ESTIMATE ON NEW FURNACE. SERVICEMAN WAS SAME WAY, TWICE OFFERING ME THE NUMBER TO THEIR SALES DEPT. HE ''FAILED'' THE FURNACE CLAIMING IT WAS LEAKING CARBON MONOXIDE AND ALSO NEEDED PARTS THAT WEREN'T AVAILABLE. I CALLED A RETIRED MINNEGASCO SERVICEMAN, WHO STILL HAS HIS MASTERS LICENSE, HE CAME OUT AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FURNACE. SAID DON'T REPLACE THIS AS IT WILL PROBABLY OUTLAST THE HOUSE. HE WAS ABLE TO DO ALL THE ITEMS ON THE CITY'S CHECKLIST EXCEPT THE ''ORSAT TEST''. ON RECOMMENDATION, I HAD ERICKSON PLUMBING AND HEATING COME OUT AND DO THE ORSAT TEST, AND THEY AGREED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FURNACE.

THE CUSTOMER DID REQUEST A HOME SALE FURNACE INSPECTION AFTER NOTED CONCERNS FROM THE TRUTH-IN-HOUSING INSPECTOR. OUR INSPECTION REPORT CONSISTS OF MANY SAFETY CHECKS INCLUDING A SMOKE TEST. DURING THIS TEST IT WAS NOTED THAT THERE WAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF LEAKAGE AROUND THE DOOR. WE ALSO NOTED THAT THE LATCH TO THE DOOR HAD BEEN FILED OFF AND THE SPRING WAS MISSING. THESE PARTS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THE CARBON MONOXIDE WAS AT A SAFE LEVEL WHICH IS INCLUDED IN OUR REPORT. WITH ANY HOME SALE FURNACE INSPECTION IT IS OUR OBLIGATION TO NOTE ANY POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARDS NO MATTER WHAT THEIR SEVERITY. OUR NUMBER ONE CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF OUR CUSTOMERS.

DENNIS HINES WAS THE SALES REP AND HE DID A GREAT JOB OF EDUCATING ME ON FURNACES. HE DIDN'T PRESSURE ME INTO MAKING A DECISION AND I FELT WELL-INFORMED AS I DECIDED RIGHT THEN TO BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THE INSTALLERS WERE PROMPT AND LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING ALL THROUGH THE INSTALLATION. THEY PUT DOWN FLOOR MATS AND CLEANED UP WELL AFTER EVERYTHING WAS DONE.

I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS COMPANY, IT'S PRODUCT, PEOPLE AND PERFORMANCE. THEY ARE FAIRLY PRICED AND PROFESSIONAL. SALES PERSON AND INSTALLERS WERE VERY INNOVATIVE, LOW-KEY, RESPONSIVE TO CONCERNS AND ABLE TO MEET A TIGHT DEADLINE. OVERALL, I AM QUITE PLEASED AND WOULD CERTAINLY HIRE THEM AGAIN.
