He put on protective shoe coverings when entering the home each time. He was punctual and since he was already working in our vicinity, service was very quick. His personality was very "cocky." He quoted me $146 for the contactor, then charged me $196 for it. When I complained to the company about it, they refunded me the $50. Besides the $99 service call, we were also charged $107 for a simple non-programmable thermostat which I could have picked up at a hardware store for under $30. Try another company.

They were punctual, the work was good.

The sales process where they inspected my home and determined the best furnace options for me went exceedingly well. The service employees who completed the work arrived promptly, notified me as soon as they were about to enter my home, and notified me when they had completed the work and were going to leave my home. I returned home to find things for the most part in good order, but I noticed that my linoleum floor (which led from the laundry room to the furnace room) had been damaged during the installation process. I contacted Standard about this damage and they sent the Installation Manager out to inspect. He asked for an estimate to replace the linoleum in the 6X6 laundry room and indicated that Standard would work with me to repair/replace the damaged flooring.

Very responsive to calls. They educated me on what they were doing and installing. Prompt service and the technicians were really friendly. They work was well done. No complaints. Excellent installation.

The service tech arrived about halfway through the estimated arrival window, answered all questions, and provided a good recommendation on the filter system.

Our heater - 22 years old - and no longer under warranty was taking too long to heat the house. The service person came and told us we had a crack in our heat exchanger and needed a new furnace and were in danger of leaking carbon monoxide. We decided to get a second opinion and someone from another company came out and looked at the back of the heat exchanger as well and showed us that there was no crack and did further testing to ensure there were no leaks. The furnace was serviced and solved the problem. Standard did call back and requested to have both companies meet to examine our furnace at the same time. We did not follow up on this and felt the money on a second opinion saved us money for the time being.

There was another heating and a/c company offering coupons for winter inspections in my neighborhood. I was concerned to find out that the majority of the people who contacted this company were being told they would need to replace their entire systems. When I explained this to the lady in the office with my concern that so many elderly were getting the same service from that company. She contacted their top service expert to inspect my unit and I was told that there was nothing wrong with it. They provided this inspection for no cost to me. This company is so wonderful. I felt they went above and beyond the quality of their service and inspection. I will definitely be calling them in the future for all of my heating and a/c needs.

No additional comments. They did a good job.

I think their installation people were very friendly and explained everything well and absolutely knew what they were doing. They only used a sub-contractor for the electrical portion of the work, but the rest of the work they did themselves.

The salesperson was very nice and personable and measured windows, etc., answering my questions and doing what seemed a thorough job. However, she didn't give me a written estimate and I wasn't sure what efficiency rating the AC would have. Ultimately I went with a company that offered the make I wanted at a lower cost and a better warranty. To cut my energy costs, she suggested using a heat pump. The idea appealed to me, but I spoke with two energy specialists who cautioned against going that route.

We are on their maintenance plan and when they came out for the fall check up, the technician found that there was a major problem with the furnace. We opted for a new furnace and they were able to be out within 1 1/2 weeks to install. It all went well and technicians were professional and cleaned up nicely.

I called Standard because of all the excellent reports I read on Angie's list. From the first person answering the phone, to the estimator, to the repair technician, I received courteous, prompt, competent help. I was amazed at the professional quality of every person with whom I dealt. I can't imagine that there could be better service provided, and to top it all off, the cost was most reasonable.

We got a quote from Dave Tyree and he was really interested in getting to know what we needed from a system. After talking to him, I came to realize that some of our other quotes were over sized and others were not as efficient as we would like. Dave figured out all the rebates we qualified for and even found out that our previous furnace was recalled, that saved us an additional $400. They were very accommodating in scheduling into our uncertain schedule. Installation was prompt, clean, and pretty much anything you could ask for. Misha went over the whole system with me and even left us with a little chart so we'd know when to change filters and whatnot.

Arrived on time and did a standard cleaning and check. Found everything in working order.

Great! From the first meeting with Mike to the end of installation, the guys from Standard were terrific. Mike did a great job explaining the options available and the pros and cons of each. He helped us make the best decision for our situation and were happy with the results. Jeff was our installer and he was excellent as well. Jeff arrived right on time and the install was completed when we got home. Our only challenge was communication in scheduling, but that caused very little problem. In the end, we got the new furnace installed and at a great price. Thanks!

They started first thing in the morning and worked for over six hours. It rained heavily on and off during the day but they were pretty consciencious about keeping my floors reasonably clean (they weren't that clean to begin with!). They dealt with the dog nicely and were surprisingly quiet on the job. They left a little bit of debris behind but all in all it was a smooth operation.

Service call was $99 they then set an appointment to come back and fix the cracked caulk and install a new exhaust cover the following week. They told us exactly what they needed to do to repair the issue and set a fixed cost to repair it. They arrived on time and repaired the leak, no surprises.

They were professional and tried to do a good job.

Excellent. The workmen were professional and courteous. At first we were going to have to go 3 days without heat because of Standards busy schedule, then they called and came out the next day instead. The work was done in 3.5 hours. We love our new furnace. It is so much quieter.

From Start to finish they were outstanding. We called sales representative Arla, she came to our home. She was so knowledgeable, up to date, thorough with all of our questions! Standard called to set up a time to install. They called 20 minutes before arriving. They were courteous,professional. They explained everything and cleaned the work area. Two days later, Arla called to follow up on the new furnace to see if we were satisfied. That would be an understatement! Arla and the folks at Standard Heating and Air give customer service new meaning! I would highly recommend them!!

We set up an appointment to have someone come out and give us an estimate. Al arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and discussed the goals and issues of the project. He took some notes and told us we should be receiving an estimate within 5-7 days. We ended up not getting the numbers back for closer to 10 days, which was difficult, as we were trying to compare companies and make a decision within a short time frame. However, we really liked the company, the solutions they proposed, and the ultimate cost, and decided to go with them. We were able to schedule the work very quickly after this point, and they came out and completed it in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. We will definitely call them again for future work.

I had a representative out twice in six months. The first time I was not ready to move, but had the estimate done. The second time, they remembered me and my information. The salesman did a very good job. The installer was here most of the day as the old furnace was large and hard to remove. After he did his work, the man came to hook up the gas. They did a temporary hook up. I got a call before they even left to schedule the person to do the final hook up. Everything was tested, air conditioner and heat with no problems. They had someone come out the next day, the Friday before Labor Day, to do the final install. I had problems that weekend with the air conditioning which did not work and it was really hot! By the time I realized it, it was Saturday afternoon. No one could come out until the next week which made me very unhappy. They were quick to get someone out there the first business day after the holiday and got it resolved. Now it works great.

Their initial quote was the 2nd quote for this job and $1000 less than first companies quote. He said price was high because it would be a 2 day job. I said I needed to get other estimates. He showed me their Angies List for the past 5 or 6 years. They also have the best warranty. I did not go with them because the final company had a 15.5 SEER unit and I was a little disappointed that I didnt get their best price on their initial visit. The initial higher price could have been due to not knowing what their competitors were doing it for or because of the extreme heat that they would be facing in the attic. I would do future business with them if I know their quotes are in the ball park.

The entire experience was EXCELLENT. We were new home owners who, 5 months after moving in, discovered that our old furnace was leaking CO. It was disconnected immediately and we bean talking to HVAC reps. Standard Heating and Cooling was on time, no pressure and the sales rep, Mike McCombs, explained everything in great detail to me and helped me decide what efficiency furnace to go with. Installation was on time, done quicker than we were quoted, even though they had to call in an electrician, that day, to run some new wiring to bring us up to code. The job involved removing and replacing both the furnace and central A/C. Adding a humidifier and an air filter to the HVAC unit, and installing a chimney liner and cap. A few months later we had them come back to run the new ducts to the bedroom and kitchen. The installers were friendly, knowledgeable and went over our new system when it was complete.

I called to ask for an estimate on chimney repair. They said that they don't do masonry work nor would they repair the roof around the chimney. What part of chimney repair is left? They told me it would be $99 to come out and look to see what they could do. They should be removed from the "Chimney Repair" category.
