It went fine. No drama, which makes for a boring review, but a good service interaction. I always want to pay less, but as far as I know they are in line with market prices.

On time and fixed only what was broken. Professional.

I was very pleased with them and happy with the product. They were very efficient, prompt, and hardworking.

I didn’t use them because I couldn’t get them at the time I wanted and they were too far. However, their customer service was good.

When calling for service, the dispatch person asked how I heard about Standard Heating & Cooling. I mentioned Angie's List and she automatically applied the $25 off for a service call. Great gesture. The plumber (Nathan) showed up on time with a call 15-20 minutes prior to let me know he was on his way. In less than 5 minutes, he had the problem diagnosed (a bad control board). He didn't have the part but gave me a couple of options. One of which was for him to go and retrieve the part from a location in Blaine. I asked him to go ahead and within the hour, he had returned with the part and had already replaced the control board. Quick service. Very professional. Nathan was careful to be clear about what he was doing and why through the whole service call. Would definitely recommend them.

On time and friendly tech explained what went wrong. He proceeded to disconnect the 2nd thermostat and leave the whole house on just 1 thermostat instead of zones. A separate company quoted me $800 just to disconnect the thermostat and $4000 for new system. A rough quote from the tech would be around $1700 to have a whole new system. Great price, great service, will work with again.

I chose to have Standard Heating and Air Conditioning repair my hot water heating system because of the high marks they received by others on Angie's List. I suspect my unpleasant experience is quite out of the ordinary, but it did, nonetheless, happen. Here were the customer service problems I encountered: 1. Phone representative informed me that the Angie's List coupon didn't apply to gas boilers. There was no such restriction indicated on the Angie's List coupon. Upon my pressing the issue, the representative checked with management and called me back to honor it. 2. The first service technician quickly identified and remedied a full expansion tank that he very competently drained. Unfortunately, my house heat was still not working properly (e.g. the boiler was running and running but the house was not warming up to reach the thermostat set point.) 3. The first service technician returned a day later to recheck the system and was unable to find the problem. He arranged for a more senior/hot water boiler specialist to return the next day. 4. The very experienced senior/water boiler specialist technician performed diagnostic tests and concluded that the boiler (10 years old with a life expectancy of 30 years) was shot. He was not comfortable concluding this because he knew that this type of boiler usually lasts 30 years. He arranged to have someone contact me about installing a new boiler. Before considering a new boiler installation, I phoned my usual plumber, Barnes Plumbing, and arranged to have the proprietor, Mike, take a look at my heating system. After doing basic boiler checks that all were fine, he suggested swapping out the thermostat to just see if it made a difference. It did. With a new thermostat in place my heating has worked fine all through our bitter cold winter. Needless to say, I'm glad I didn't pay Standard Heating and Air Conditioning to install a new boiler that I didn't need. As a consumer, I'm slightly frustrated that Standard Heating and Air Conditioning couldn't readily determine that my thermostat was bad. To find that out I had to pay for a service call from another company. Under the circumstances, I do think it would be appropriate for Standard Heating and Air Conditioning to apologize and refund the cost of the service call.

They gave us a bid and installed it so it came about $4000. They gave me a better financial deal. They gave a fair price and a better product.

They asked me if I realized how much it would cost for a new air conditioner. They use mini split air conditioning. I explained I had received a lower estimate. They were basically having me convince them whether or not they should come out and do the job. I have no trouble with someone calling me about an estiment it's just that their tone was so negative.

All of the people on their team were quick to respond, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Their pricing was very competitive and did not change during the process. Installation went smoothly and the new furnace is working very well.

Everyone from the sales rep to the scheduler to the installer were professional, attentive, responsive, and patient. Scheduler was courteous and professional. The installer called me more than an hour ahead of appointment to let me know what time he would be at my home, which I appreciated very much because I was at work and didn't have to miss more work than necessary by waiting out the appointment "window" at home. The installer was respectful of my home and re-explained the work he was going to do when he arrived. The quality of the work is excellent too!

They fixed my air to air exchange system which had broken down. They were punctual and and perfomed their work as promised. Great customer service.

These guys are great. There were three different techs that supported me and each was extremely professional. They were on time (and this was the snowiest and coldest day of the winter--Minneapolis schools were closed!) and took great care to not track snow in my house. They had to order the part; it arrive the same day and they returned that afternoon to replace it. A week later the furnace stopped working again. The came out and fixed it for free. Each tech took the effort to explain exactly what they were doing and what my cost would be. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Serviceperson arrived on time, was courteous, and answered the few questions that I had. Although it's difficult to know how well the furnace was inspected, it all appeared to be done appropriately. There were no surprises, which is how I'd hoped it would go. An Angies deal made the price appropriate, which otherwise seemed a bit high.

These guys are great. We just moved into a new house and had problems with the furnace shutting off. They were able to have someone over by the next morning. There was some confusion over pricing - the technician sold us an annual HVAC contract without letting us know we had the option to pay a lesser fee for the one-time tune-up, but I called afterward and they cleared everything up. Very courteous and professional!

When I got up in the AM my furnace wasn't working. I called the company that I usually use and they weren't able to send anyone out until later in the day. I went to Angie's list to find a different heating Company and after reading reviews on Standard Heating, I called them. Melissa took my call and she was very professional and helpful. She told me that a serviceman would be out within the hour. In less than an hour, he arrived and diagnosed the problem, made a call to find the motor that he needed and returned in about 2 hrs to complete the job. The service from this company was excellent and I would highly recommend them.

The service was really good. They solved the problem at a reasonable cost. The service was excellent.

The noise was there before, and after. There is a vibration or something. The service man was a little cold, and seemed in a hurry to get out of there, but then sat in the cul de sac for a while, presumably setting up the next appt. when i called back (next day or day after), they were very quick to remind me that I had reported only one problem...the lack of heat, and that there would be another charge, now that I reported the noise. Maybe, I thought this was ok, but both the serviceman and the person handling the the phone calls were a little too cool. Turns out, I had a different problem with my main furnace a week later, and I called someone else (Ditter). They helped me take care of it over the phone. Not sure I have something to complain about or not, but it left me with a bad taste. I probably wouldn't call them again.

I called Standard Heating for the first time last year when another highly rated Angies List provider failed to call us back in a timely fashion. Std Htg came out the same day, fixed the immediate problem, made suggestions for better maintenance and warned of an impending problem. I have used them for about 4 different problems since then and although they are probably not always the cheapest, they have been the most cost effective overall and exceptional to work with. I recommend them highly.

Went great. My furnace stopped working on a Sunday evening. There is a small extra cost for an emergency, but it was a Sunday night, and the forecast was for -3 degrees. So yea, this was emergency. The tech called me within 15 minutes of my initial call, had me walk through some things to make sure the call was necessary, and arrived my house about an hour later. Quick diagnosis, and went right work. Left my house one hour later with my furnace in working order. Very professional.

Our old furnace stopped working in -25 degree temperatures and Standard Heating came to service it - it couldn't be saved. After we interviewed several HVAC contractors, we chose Standard for their price, service, and responsiveness and we are very pleased with our decision. We would choose them again and recommend them to others.

i thought there was a problem with the fan but it was because we have anewer furnace where the fan operates differently. Exactly one week later we experience a problem where the furnace would not stay on. They came out again and fixed the problem free of charge.

It was good and they did fine. They were very helpful. The scheduling was really quick and easy, and I had no problems. They got the tune up done in about 30 minutes. The technician was good and he was professional.

I have been IMPRESSED with Standard Heating and Air Conditioning. Excellent customer service on the phone, exceptional response time, and wonderful service by the technician. Likely the best experience we have had with a company we found through Angie's List.
