They checked over everything thoroughly and walked me through some of the routine maintenance pieces - how to determine if the filter needs changing, how to keep the condenser pump clean, etc. They offered a few different maintenance plans moving forward and clearly explained the pro's and con's without being pushy in the least. It was a very low pressure/non-pressure sell. They were extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. They even went above and beyond the call of duty by killing a spider on the wall for me. (Very very appreciated!)

I had an appointment window of 2PM to 5 PM. Joe, the technician called about 1:30 and said he would be at the house at 2. I told him he could come sooner so he arrived about 1:50, put his shoe coverings on, and got right to work. I pay Standard Heating $15.70/month and that covers 2 check-ups a year and also gives priority customer service. I like that they send me a postcard reminding me to schedule an appointment. I always get the same technician. Joe is friendly and very professional. He always explains to me what he has done. I have used Standard Heating for 28 years and wouldn't consider using any other company for my heating and cooling needs.

The technicians (2) gave a thorough check to our furnace and tested to make sure the heat level was accurate and that the blower was working as it should. Then, they checked our air conditioner by flushing it out and cleaning it as needed. The service was prompt and friendly.

This company is simply amazing. Everything from start to finish was OUTSTANDING. They covered my floors with heavy duty runner mats, wore shoe coverings, and cleaned up when they were done. There were 4 people here from Installers to the Gas Expert and an Electrician. They came right on time and were all very nice guys, such a pleasure to have put in my new systems. Wow...is all I can say! Do not hesitate, this company is the best. There's a reason why they have the high ratings here that they do. Thank you Standard Heating and AC. It went good and they did a really good job. They added a free whole house air filter with that job. It was really professional. They were in and out in a day and it's worked perfectly. They weren't the lowest bid.

They were both very kind, knowledgeable and friendly. They answered questions I had, they explained what they did. They spent time in discussing options I had.

Standard completed all items on their regular checklist and provided a copy of their review. Everything was in order. We are on their program where we pay a fixed monthly amount and they come out 3 times a year. The price is fixed forever. This program also allows Saturday visits which is very convenient. I like that they call ahead to let you know they are coming and usually come towards the beginning of the appointment window.

Perfect. Dan called ahead and arrived on time. Did a thorough check of furnace, thermostat and zone controls. Tested for carbon monoxide emissions and answered all questions. Furnace checked out fine. Thermostat cover was loose possibly causing loose connection.

Person arrived on time and was very professional, my bad I cannot remember his name. He worked on furnace, offered some advice. There is not too much to say really - it was smooth, it was professional - would I use them again? Yes, was it value for money? Yes.

Nathan did a quick, good job and I was extremely happy. He remembered being out here previously and it was nice to be asked if things were still going well with my new heater (it was, it was in good shape and really helped out the house). It went very well. Easy to schedule with office. Called ahead to let me know arrival time. Polite, good-natured, and efficient. Answered my questions completely. Good service, in my opinion.

I came across Standard Heating's coupon in the Star Tribune for 1/2 off or $79 each and I had them come out and tune up and service my three units. The technician was unusually pleasant and sharp and it did an outstanding job of diagnosing and running a series of tests on three units. Luckily, they were all in pretty good shape, but he made some minor adjustments and made certain the battery of 10 tests or so all checked out, which they did. Having a well tuned furnace in MN is not a luxury, but rather a necessity and was pleased with the service and the pricing was very affordable. I was so pleased that I gave a Standard Heating tune-one for a friend his unit was also tuned up. Surprisingly, the technician noticed a "cracked housing" and recommended that it be repaired as it could potentially be dangerous, so this is something that my friend and his extremely handy father were so glad to be aware of the problem. Overall we were exceptionally pleased and I would absolutely hire Standard Heating again for a furnace tune up, because it is so critical, especially for the newer more sophisticated units to be tested each year. The last thing we need is to have furnace go out in Mid-january, so even though it may be running well, my newer unit did break down and because I neglected to service the unit as recommended by Carrie. This will never happen again, because I learned my lesson, however the breakdown was last year not this year. I would highly recommend Standard and hire the firm with confidence.

They are fine.They were available. They communicated everything on phone before they came, which was good.

HVAC specialist checked over furnace and parts, since I have an older Bryant. He found one part that showed excessive wear and explained to me that usually this part only needed to be replaced once in the life of the furnace, but it was up to me to decide if I wanted to replace it now or later. The part cost $150.00. I chose to replace it and he suggested that I save the old part on top of the furnace in case I needed it toward the end of my furnace's life. He took out the electrostatic filters, which I washed, while he was cleaning inside the furnace. He even took some paper towels and picked up a dead mouse that had crawled under the hoses outside the furnace and put it in the trash for me. That's service! Thank you, Standard Heating. I was also offered a membership in their Smart Club: fall furnace tune-up and an additional safety check in mid-Feb to March; then a central air conditioner tune-up in the Spring. It usually costs $150.00 per tune-up, but this way the customer gets 2 furnace inspections (important with an old furnace) and the A/C tune-up as a bundle for $250.00. In addition, any emergency visit is performed at regular cost and doesn't cost you an arm or a leg. Last, but not least, Standard Heating started maintaining and repairing my parents' HVAC systems in 1956, when they bought their first house for $17,000. So, I can tell you that this company does things right, hires the best workers, and will go the extra mile whenever you need help.

the young fella who did the work was exceptional. i honestly cannot think of anything negative to say. Standard came in at about 700 less than another estimate we got, and that sold us on it.

Since I will be paying for the unit, I wanted to get an estimate to make sure it was worth transitioning from what I have now. Standard would not even come out to look at the unit until I provided them with the equivalent of a signed permission slip from the landlord. Why would I bother with all of that work before I decided whether or not I wanted to do it? Secondly, I explained the situation, was on hold for several minutes while the receptionist decided whether or not I needed to talk to a commercial installer and was asking questions about the size of the building. I'm not interested in cooling the building, only a space of about 400 sq. ft, which I explained twice. I'm very irritated by this interaction, as I've now called two other companies on Angie's List and did not get the same kind of run around that I got from Standard.

The technicians arrived on time as promised. They were considerate and very professional. The work was completed in a timely manner and they did a great job cleaning up.

Our Furnace went out in the middle of the night. The blower ran all night, but no heat and it was getting cold in the house. Called Standard in the morning after consulting Angie's List. They were very friendly and personable on the phone, and happily honored an Angie's List special offer. We set up an appointment for the afternoon. They later called to say that a service person had come free, and asked if we'd like to move up our appointment. We did, and they showed up exactly on time. The service person (Jason) was quick, professional and solved our issue in a few minutes. He replaced a failed switch, and now all is well. He gave us an estimate for a noisy induction motor that may need replacing at some point?a $425 estimate they will honor without paying a service fee?and went on his way. Very well done. And the house is warming. I will use them again.

Everything turned out well. They found out it was a faulty air filter and took care of it, they were very professional.

They did a great job at a reasonable cost

It went great. They said that it was a good furnace, in good shape and condition. He was nice enough to comment that the furnance filters had been put in backwards and fixed them for me. He even put an arrow on the duct work to help put them in the right way in the future. He was also nice enough to comment that the moister box needed to be cleaned periodically for the a/c unit.

I contacted Standard Heating via email to schedule a service call tune up and they called me back in less than 15 mins. The service person who came out was excellent and professional. They tested and tweeked and my furnace bill - I can actually say my heating bill was $79 dollars less per month than last year. I was very happy with the tune up and the service I received from Standard Heating and Air. I will call them back and have them out for the A/C this spring.

The technician showed up on time and was very friendly. He was thorough in his explanation and didn't force anything on us that we didn't want. Repairs were made quickly after explaining what was wrong.

All in all, I would recommend this company to my friends and family. Sales: Although their price was a little higher then some of their competitors that I got quotes from, I still choose to go with them because if their professionalism and good reputation (based on my research). I really liked how the quote they gave me was valid for a few days so I had time to think about it. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision on the spot. The sales rep I worked with was really professional and on time and I was able to call him a over the weekend to clarify some questions I had. By the time I signed the contract, they were able to get me setup for installation in less then 1 week. Installation: I was amazed on the installation team. The first guy arrive a little early, and I saw him sitting in his truck. I noticed him outside at about 7:45am, and he was scheduled to arrive 8-8:30. I let him know he could come in and start getting ready if he wanted. Soon after, 3 other van/trucks came by. At that time, I left the house. Around 1-2pm, they are all done and showed me everything they did along with normal maintenance I should be doing (changing the filter's, etc). Rebates and City Inspector: It was really easy to work with them for the rebates. They submitted in all the paper work to the utility companies, and I started to get checks in the mail. Finally, when I had the furnace inspected, I asked the city inspector how everything looked, he said it was put together very well.

Came home to find that the furnace wasn't turning on. After performing a few diagnostics, I determined that the igniter was bad. It had the part number printed right on it, so I thought I could just get a new one. Turns out you can't buy a furnace igniter too many places, so I needed to call a repair company to come out. Since it was 7:00 at night, it was going to be an emergency service call. Every company charges outrageous after-hours service call fees (standard's is $200), but I decided to go with standard heating because of their reviews. Even though I had the part number, and the tech had it in his truck, it was still $175 to unbolt the part and put a new $25 part on. They did honor the $25 angies list coupon, and the tech checked the rest of the furnace and gave me some tips on how to keep it running well. I just wish the price was a little less expensive if all you need is a part replaced with no diagnostic check.
