Upon opening up the walls of my house, we discovered more than I had initially planned to rehab. Kevin and his team handled this problem with patience and ease. He talked me through every step of the process and laid everything out on the table. He was prepared to tackle the obstacles when I wasn't. The house turned out beautifully. Kevin was respectful to the age of the home, making design choices that complemented the original wood work and architecture, and updating where appropriate. Every person Kevin hired to work on the house was respectful and professional. I had to get lead abatement work done on the outside of the house, no easy feat. Kevin and his team handled the abatement professionally and the paint and plaster work on the house looks fabulous. Kevin brings a unique angle to his projects. His background as an artist and photographer makes him unique in his field. He brings artistic craftsmanship and an eye for detail I have not seen from other contractors. Kevin's team is thorough, polite, and respectful. When I felt I was in way over my head with too big of a project, the thing that comforted me was knowing I was working with a good contractor, someone who cared about the house as much as I do. Almost a year later, Kevin still calls to check on things, make sure I'm satisfied with the work and that I'm still happy. He cares very much about his work, maybe too much! But it is this passion that makes him invaluable as a contractor. I'd be happy to work with him again and recommend his work to anyone.

This past December, our 1968, 4-level split home was severely damaged by ice dams. After being dried out by a professional mitigation company, we hired Kevin Vereecke, of Parsonstern, to renovate and rebuild. Kevin was very prompt and responsive to our request to review the project and provide us with an estimate. He walked through the numbers and took the time to explain each area of the renovation in detail. Kevin went above and beyond the call of duty to work with all of the trades (we had independently hired our own HVAC, electrician, plumber, and wood flooring contractors) to make sure we received the best service. He also allowed us to do some demo work and painting ourselves to save money. Kevin and his crew always let me know in advance exactly when they would be at the house, which was very considerate considering I work from home. They put up plastic zipper walls to contain the mess and cleaned up well after themselves. I was pregnant at the time and Kevin took extra precautions to test for asbestos in the exterior siding that was being disrupted as well as lead in the interior wall and window paint. He was very sensitive to my pregnancy and always made sure to give me plenty of notice on the days that I needed to be out of the house due to staining or other potentially hazardous smells. Kevin physically marked out the placement of the windows, doors, cabinets, etc. per the plan to review with us before actually installing, which I found very helpful. Our kitchen island design required a knee wall to be built to support the floating marble countertop. There was some confusion between how Kevin, the steel fabricator, and the countertop installers needed the support wall to be built. Kevin built the wall as designed and when it needed to be reconfigured, he did not put up a fuss about having to redo the entire thing, nor did he charge me more. When it came time to install the cabinetry, Kevin took great care to ensure a fabulous installation. Thanks to Kevin, my family now has a beautiful new kitchen and dining room of which we are constantly being inundated with compliments from friends and family. I would highly recommend Kevin Vereecke.
