The sale of my rental house in Saint Paul, a charming 1924 home, depended on fixing 7 old vinyl replacement windows in the upstairs bedrooms that were falling apart. I had several contractors look at them with no clear solution that was reasonably priced. One contractor said he didn't even want the job. Finally I found A Pane in the Glass Construction. They had a great attitude, understood my dilemma and quickly found the right solution: an inexpensive, Energy Star rated vinyl replacement window that they could install for $2,000 for all seven windows. Problem solved. They got the windows installed in time for the closing. New owners were happy. I'm happy, and it sounds hokey but I really appreciated the can-do attitude.

We have a home that was built in 1886. It seems like the windows were never redone since than. With the cold winter last year (2013/14) We decided it was time to have the windows replaced. I called several contractors. Had 6 different bids. For-granted I could have financed my windows through any other company..but why have a monthly bill for the next 5 years. With A Pane In The Glass I found it to be affordable. I did not have to take out a loan or a mortgage to have new windows installed. We started with the upstairs and had 7 windows installed in April 2014. For the first install I was very impressed with there professionalism. They where on time. Giving a courtesy call before they came out. They also picked up the mess and made sure it was cleaner than when they came in. A few weeks after I had my upstairs windows installed... One of my basement windows glass shattered. (mind you this is an original window not a new one) I called Alan and he came out immediately to see what he could do to help. We decided that it would be worth the investment and had a few of our basement windows redone. We are slowly redoing all the windows in our home. But since they are so affordable we are able to save for the remodel instead of taking a loan out for it. I am very happy with the windows we have had redone. They not only look nice, but I feel like they kept the cold air in this summer time. I also live on a busy road and I feel that the windows have helped reduce the noise of the road. I have a few windows left to install and I would defiantly have A Pane In The Glass come out and finish the windows.

They did a great job, were very precise on their measurements, and cleaned up the work site extraordinarily well. They were also good enough to tip us off to a stucco problem in a place that's not very visible from outside.

They were able to come out quickly, and because the frame of our windows were fine, they were able to just replace the panes of glass that had bad seals. Since only the panes of glass were being replaced they were able to get the new windows in in just two weeks instead of a month, like a whole new window would have taken.

Everything went great, I would highly recommend them! Kevin and Mickey were very knowledgeable and really knew their stuff. They were very clean and courteous. Allen the owner was excellent when he came out he explained all the differences in replacing the windows, which prompted me to trust and hire the company out of the 8 different bids I had received.

Went well. Seller stayed within the date of promised installation. Installers removed old windows and after installation of new ones, cleaned up area. I was happy that there were no surprise price increases or installation dates. I'm very happy with the way the windows look and would hire them again.

Everything went well, and it was easy working with the company. They showed up on time, did a good job with the window, and didn't leave any messes. Furthermore, the worker was friendly and professional when dealing with us.

Great Allen came out for estament within 48 Hrs and wash computed in one week crew was friend ally and it only too 45 min to install.

In January a window in our kitchen cracked in two places (me trying to melt the ice with a hair dryer on a setting that was clearly too hot). The inside pane of our insulated window cracked in two places. I was able to put tape over it to prevent too much condensation from forming, then found this company on Angie's List. I was contacted quickly. I was told that depending on how the glass was in there they may not be able to just replace the glass because when they go to take it out the wood frame splits. I took pictures to send him and he promptly replied that it looked like it would be fine and he could just replace the glass. Someone then came out to get measurements. During this visit he told me that the vinyl frame outside was falling apart when he tried to take it off. We would need to replace this but he had to find one first. He contacted me a few weeks later saying he had found a company that had one. We scheduled a time for someone to come out- the day they did it was too cold and the window wasn't going to move easily. They came back a week later and completed the work quickly and it looks great! I would definitely call this company again for any window needs we had. They did whatever they could too help us fix our window including searching for a piece that was not readily available.

The product used has a faux wood finish that very nearly matched the wood trim in our 1950's home, price was extremely reasonable, product is beautiful, job was done in 5 hours on the day scheduled. I think the floors were actually cleaner after the job than before, they were very good about cleaning up afterward. So pleased! We still have a picture window to replace one day, we will definitely use Pane in the Glass for that when the time comes.

Very responsive and professional. We had a slight scheduling issue where they accidentally scheduled for the wrong day but they were very responsive and apologetic. They were able to reschedule quickly for the next day which worked for us. When they arrived to do the work, they were professional and quick. The prices were very reasonable as well.

Allen came out on time, and was extremely professional, courteous and friendly. He explained what would have to happen to fix the three windows that were foggy with condensation, and gave me an estimate. He also explained that I do have other options, and that just replacing those windows would actually cost me less. I appreciated his honesty. Because of my situation I'm choosing to wait to have the services performed, but if I do move forward I will no doubt use Allen.

I called for a quote, they returned the call right away and came out the next day. I did get some other bids but decided to go with Pane in the Glass. We scheduled the project, they came on time, finished on time, and cleaned up the mess. I do run an in home business, they were respectful of my time and my business. I am doing more windows this spring, and will call them again. The work was good, pricing was good, workers were on time and courteous. I would recommend them and will use them again.

Allen gave us an estimate and was very responsive in communication via email. Him and his installers were very friendly and courteous. They did a great job at installing the windows and were excellent in the clean up process. Very happy with the price and the quality of the window seems very good. The installers were also good at explaining what they were doing, and they replaced a broken window frame ledge that was not included in the original bid and this was very much appreciated. We will use them for additional window related projects.

I needed to have seven windows installed in a townhouse. Allen's quote was significantly less expensive than all of the others that I received, and for windows that were of the same or better quality than his competitors. He was friendly, professional, and no nonsense. When we hammered out a date, his folks came out, and got everything done quickly, and things looked good. However, they found that the wood sills were all rotting out on all of the windows. The townhouse association decided to use Allen's services to apply a wrap around all of the windows to stop any further rotting. Everything went smoothly, and the association was also impressed with their work. I would happily use these guys again. They do good work for a decent price. That's all that I ask for.
