Excellent. Dan and his crew did an exceptional job on all of the work we had done. They were professional, timely, pleasant to work with and did quality work. Dan was very responsive to our questions and changes and did a great job keeping us informed as to the status of the project. They did such an exceptional job on the first master bath project that we hired them again when we purchased a new home and need work completed on the laundry room and bathroom. We would highly recommend Country Creek Builders.

Country Creek did a complete kitchen remodel for me in 2014, and I loved the detailed estimate, the professionalism and the beautiful results. That project was completed in the timeline I was originally given. So it was only natural that I contacted Dan to remodel two bathrooms in my town home. After several revisions and discussions, we came up with plans for both of them. The guest bath was completed in April, and once again, the invoice was almost exactly the same as the estimate. There was a short delay because the custom vanity was not ready when promised, but the end result was worth waiting for. I am very happy with the quality of the workmanship, and Dan's crew and the subcontractors are all very professional and trustworthy. I have no problem having them in my home working even when I am not here. They have already started the master bathroom, and I'm sure it will also be everything I expected! I highly recommend Country Creek Builders for kitchen and bathroom remodels. Every detail is addressed, and Dan makes sure his homeowners are happy with the results.

We engaged Dan and his team to remodel our master bathroom. The first thing we noticed was the detail provided in Dan's estimate. It was extremely well done and gave us confidence about what to expect. The team was professional, respectful and showed great dedication to their craft. I could tell they were putting as much into MY bathroom remodel and they would put into their own. We had one unfortunate situation that came up and Dan was on top of it immediately. We didn't have to say a word. He really showed integrity and commitment to quality. The end product is stunning. We could not be happier! Now we are going to have them remodel the basement and then.... the kitchen! We plan to keep Country Creek busy!!

We contracted with Country Creek Builders in 2013 for a full basement finish-out that turned out top notch. So, when preparing our home to list for sale in April 2106, we knew there was no other contractor we could entrust to help us with work that needed to be handled in a short timeframe. Dan and his crew fit us into their already busy schedule and turned our project in 3.5 weeks time - allowing us to meet the listing date contracted with our realtor. Dan made suggestions along the way about what other homeowners in the area were putting in their homes, which helped lighten the decision process on interior finishes tremendously during an already stressful time. The kitchen has never looked better (new granite/back splash), the bathrooms are updated and refreshed (new granite and glass shower doors), topped off with new carpet when you walk in the front door. Oh, and that 2013 basement finish-out? The realtor used the words "walkout basement is a home run with bar, game and media rooms" on our listing description! Thanks, AGAIN, Dan, Dave and all the CCB staff for a job well done!!

We looked to Country Creek after firing our previous contractor, who was not upfront with cost and hit us with an estimate almost twice our budget. Our estimate from Country Creek was within our budget and we were impressed by the quality of their work as shown on their website. I am a very detail-oriented person, and Dan was patient with our changes and requests as we made sure we were making choices that we would love. We weren't looking forward to having a dumpster in our driveway for two months so we were happy when Dan said they would haul away the trash every day. The online calendar was very helpful so we knew what was coming up and the status of project progress. It was very important that we felt comfortable with who was in our house every day. The Country Creek team was very friendly, unobtrusive, and professional, as were the subcontractors (plumber, electrician) involved in the project. Dan (painter) is simply amazing. He takes incredible pride in his work and did everything to perfection and taught us a few things about proper painting technique. Dan (owner) made sure we were happy with the final product. They talked us through options and considerations when we ran into a few design challenges and the final product is beautiful. We would hire them again without hesitation!

In the spring of 2015, I began the search for a builder that could design and build a handicap accessible addition to my home that would create a first floor leaving space for my mother. I joined Angie’s List specifically to help me in the search process. I interviewed several builders all with Super Service Awards and began reading the comments of previous customers looking for someone that had a successful experience with a project similar to the one I had in mind. Daniel Drenckhahn’s approach to the project from the very first was different from the previous builders I had interviewed. He listened to everything on my ‘wish list’ for the project and had ideas of on ways we could consider to reach each one. Within a week I had a copy of the initial bid and we moved forward to design planning. We spent 2-3 weeks working on design and were ready to submit the plans for city approval in late October. We received approval the beginning of Thanksgiving week and therefore started the following Monday. This is the third time I have worked with a contractor on new construction and this was the least stressful experience I have ever had. Let me give some specifics that made that a reality. Accurate detailed estimate – The detail and the specifics of the bid let me know exactly what I was paying for and options for changes. When compared to the prices quoted by other builders Country Creek Builders was competitive and included details that other contractors did not know to consider. Subcontractors – A list of businesses and contact people was provided for each subcontractor I needed to visit to choose things like plumbing, cabinets, paint, counter tops and carpet etc. I would introduce myself as working with Country Creek Builders and each subcontractor volunteered as we worked that they worked with a number of builders and if they needed work on their home they would call Country Creek. Standard of excellence – Every member of the building team worked tirelessly to maintain a level of excellence that shows in the finished product. We consistently get comments of the quality of the work completed. Routinely they would explain there were standards of the field, standards of the building codes. Country Creek standards routinely exceeded those required by both. Attention to detail – every subcontractor reviewed their work with Daniel Drenckhahn before ending their step in the process. A member of the building team was present to review the work with each city inspection. Building permit – understood the process for Eagan and arranged everything from the initial building approval, periodic inspections and final inspection so that the approvals occurred within in a day or two of when needed and construction was not delayed. Maintained a clean job site- before leaving each day all debris for construction was removed. No dumpster sat out in from of my house. Each subcontractor was responsible for his own debris. Skill in workmanship- Every worker on the project was an expert at what they did. From digging the foundation, framing, installing tile, insolation, painting and staining, heating, counter tops or cabinets there is not a flaw. When options were considered the advantages and disadvantages of each was explained. On time or early from day one – We started construction the Monday after Thanksgiving. The crew arrived at sunup and worked to sundown until the project was completed. They kept me informed daily of the building schedule, inspections and deliveries. Communication - I never had to ask for an update because by phone, in person or email they kept me informed. We made continuous progress and the family conversation about the project went from ‘What are they going to do tomorrow?’ to ‘What did they do today?’ The teams list of completed worked was always longer than I thought they would accomplish in a day. Every question about the project was answered or addressed promptly. Honesty, professionalism and determination to make the finished product the best it can be makes the decision to hire Country Creek Builders one of the best decisions you could make.

We chose Country Creek Builders because of the high rating on Angie's List, the fact that they were local and of the three contractors that gave us bids, Country Creek had the best price. Dan gave us a level of confidence that he would do a quality job. Dan provided referrals that we followed up with and all gave us even more confidence that Country Creek was the right company for us. The project began by removing my previous attempts to finish the basement and get a clean slate to work with. Each evening when they left, the basement was cleaned and all tools were neatly set aside. Overall, the project took about 6 weeks. Dan used a web site that showed the build schedule which told us what was happening each day. Despite all of the additions to the original project that we made, they only extended the project duration by 1 day and that was due to the new windows that had to be ordered and installed and painted. Country Creek used contractors for the HVAC, electrical and plumbing. They were all excellent, friendly and professional. Dan provided a list of suppliers for elements of the design for us to pick out, like bathroom fixtures, fireplace, fireplace stone, paint and flooring. We had a custom maple cabinet built and installed in the bathroom. All of these suppliers were excellent and once we made our choices, communicated them to Dan. The quality of the work is amazing. Dan and his team pay attention to details and those details make the finished product look great. Two elements of the job stand out as you walk through the finished basement. One is the painting, particularly the trim. All seams, nail holes, joints are filled and all of the trim and doors were spray painted. The trim looks like one solid piece that wraps around all doors, windows and the baseboard. Dan's painter does outstanding work. The other item that stands out is the fireplace stone. We chose a ledgestone with a dry stack installation (you don't see any mortar) to wrap around the fireplace enclosure from floor to ceiling and a stone mantel. The final product takes your breath away. It is the most beautiful fireplace I have ever seen. I could sit there and stare at it for hours. It is a work of artistry to piece all of these different size and shaped stones together. Dan's son did the stone work and it is nothing short of amazing. Overall, we love our new basement! Country Creek Builders did a great job, stayed on schedule and were all very friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to call Dan for our next project.
Description of Work: Country Creek Builders finished our basement. They removed all of my attempts to finish my basement including walls and sheetrock, including work done by the original home builder (27 years ago) that was not up to current code. They built one bedroom, a bathroom, a utility room and a very large family room with a gas fireplace. The work included plumbing for the bathroom, HVAC, running gas lines to the furnace and up to the kitchen so we could get a gas range, and all trim and painting. The fireplace was finished in stone. All of the floor is carpeted except the bathroom which has ceramic tile. We chose spray insulation for the exterior walls. Country Creek builders also repaired water damage that was caused by years of our patio door leaking. We had them replace the patio door and all damage to exterior walls and the flooring near the door. During the project we added some items, including installing a new water heater and a new sump pump. Also, all electrical work was done to install recessed lighting and receptacles in the basement. Near the end of the project, just before painting, we realized that the 3 windows in the basement were in bad condition and needed to be replaced.

We wanted to do a dramatic renovation of our master bath and more of a refresh on a hall bathroom. Dan met with me to go over what we wanted done, and a few days later provided a detailed initial estimate for us. Although his estimate was in the same ballpark as a couple other estimates we got, I felt more comfortable with the discussions he and I had versus some of the other contractors I talked to, and chose to work with Country Creek Builders. Dan had warned me that he had several other jobs lined up ahead of us, but we were not in a hurry and were fine with waiting until he could start on our project. In the meantime we made our material choices and received an updated estimate with the cost of those items factored in. The estimate was more than we had budgeted for the projects, so I made some changes in our choices. Dan was great about answering questions about the cost of one selection versus another, and we were able to get the costs down to our budget. Once work began, he had subcontractors carefully scheduled so that there was very little wasted time. I was kept up to date on the schedule by use of the Builders Trend app, and wDan and I communicated regularly via email. I work part-time, so I was home some of the time when work was going on. I felt comfortable with every worker that came into our home, which was important to me. They were all very pleasant and behaved professionally. The quality of the work was excellent, and the few hiccups we had were small and dealt with immediately (a wall got gouged when carrying up a heavy bathtub, tire tracks left in our grass as we have a very narrow driveway, etc). I would not hesitate to hire County Creek Builders again.

We had extensive work done on our main floor, including a full gutting and remodel of our kitchen, dining room, living room/entertainment area and guest bathroom. We are in love with all of it! My husband and I are not handy nor do we have connections in the contractor/remodel industry. We originally joined Angie's List a year ago with the specific intent to research and gather honest reviews for this project. We ultimately decided to go with Country Creek Builders as they had completed many other projects in our area (Lakeville) and they had A+ reviews across the board. From initial meeting to final completion of the project, all interactions were personal, professional and timely. From start to finish, we worked directly with Dan (owner) and Dave on the design, planning and execution of the project. The level of attention we received and the purposeful path that guided every aspect of the work drove a high-quality finished product that not only met, but exceeded our expectations. As a mom of two little ones, I was particularly impressed with the clean-up performed after each day of work, the on-schedule program from start to finish, and the punctuality and responsiveness of the Country Creek team. From a quality, service and project management perspective...my family gives Country Creek Builders an A++!! We are thrilled with our new home...and the process was actually pleasant:)
Description of Work: Country Creek managed a full remodel of our main floor -- kitchen, guest bathroom, dining room, living room, entertainment area, etc. Wall demo, ceiling refinish, all new paint, new and refinished flooring, etc. Kitchen was completely gutted and remodeled - new floors, cabinets, backsplash, granite countertops, lighting, sink/faucets, fixtures, etc.

This is the second of 2 bathrooms we had Dan and his team from Country Creek Builders remodel for us. We we're so pleased with the work on our first bathroom that we decided to go forward with having Country Creek remodel our Master Bathroom. Just like our first bathroom, Dan and his team were awesome to work with. The only unfortunate experience we had during this remodel was a lot more "design on the fly" due to what was encountered once the bathroom was gutted. Dan and his team worked with us to help modify our original design and still accomplish what we wanted with the bathroom. Needless-to-say, the completion date was pushed out some but we expected this; our completion date was 2 weeks later than planned. One of the "design on the fly" issues we encountered caused us not being able to install a large, recessed niche in the shower. Dave, Dan's "master" tiler (and son), was great to work with and was a tremendous help by making recommendations on what we could do instead as well as listening and hashing out some of our ideas. In fact, one of Dave's suggestions, installing a marble tile "crown" molding at the top of the shower was something we had never seen before and it really put an elegant finishing touch to our shower. Dave also knew that I really didn't want to have to deal with a lot of grout to clean and maintain. My husband and I selected the largest tile sizes we could and Dave went that little extra by suggesting that we go even smaller with the tile spacing (we did 1/4" in our first bathroom) and do 1/8". While this meant more work and precision in laying the tile on Dave's part, he was able to do it and the results are spectacular. (Thanks, Dave!) We also want to give specific shout outs to Dan (not the owner), who did all the painting for both bathrooms (and his help in finalizing paint colors) as well as Bill, for all his carpentry work. Lastly, we want express our appreciation on how responsive Dan was during both remodeling projects to all issues, big and small, that arose before, during and after remodeling (e.g, getting a faulty dimmer switch fixed in the 1st bathroom 2 weeks after its completion; having Dave fix some cracked tiles discovered in the 1st bathroom a week after its completion; working with the plumbers to fix a squeaky shower base; taking care of some uncovered mold and wood rot issues in Master bath after demolition). All these issues were addressed and taken care of with no questions asked. Bottom line, we will definitely be contacting Dan and Country Creek Builders for future remodeling projects and will definitely be recommending them to all our friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Remodeled Master Bathroom (5'x8'). Completely gutted a 1976 Master bathroom - replaced sink, vanity, tub/shower (replaced with walk-in shower), toilet, flooring, lighting and bathroom exhaust fan. Rerouted heat vent from behind bathroom door to underneath new vanity. Re-textured ceiling and installed sound-proof insulation along shared wall with adjacent bathroom.

Attention to detail, commitment to customer service and quality of work all excellent. All employees were friendly, professional and took extra care to protect areas not involved in the project.. They were extremely helpful with design from the reconfiguration to the unique placement of the floor and shower tiles . The bathrooms turned out beautiful and I admit I wasn't really sure what I wanted when we started and required a little more guidance . When the inevitable little glitches that happen with every project occured Dan was responsive to our concerns and worked hard to resolve the problems promptly. Great guys to work with.

We have had a very interesting relationship with Country Creek Builders. They were highly recommended to us by neighbors who had remodeling work done. Our first impression of Dan Drenckhahn, the president of Country Creek Builders (CCB) was that he was very professional and had an engaging personality. His bid was competitive and we soon signed a contract. CCB started on time and the work progressed quickly and smoothly. The workers were very courteous and professional and after long days at the job cleaned up their work. With the shower being tiled, a new window and wall installed, the walls and ceiling painted, and the lights installed, our master bath was transforming into a beautiful room. About half way through the work the project got interesting. After I returned from a business trip my wife informed me that a small miscalculation had occurred. The opening for the tub had been measured incorrectly. CCB said that they could still fit the tub into the opening but it might be a little tight and the faucet would be placed to the side, not where we originally wanted it; or if wished they could start all over. My wife and I discussed it that night and thought that it best, even though the project would last weeks longer, CCB should start over. The next morning when CCB arrived they informed us they knew they made a big mistake and they decided, without our prompting, the work had to start over. It had to be done right. The tile was removed, the walls taken down, the new window and lights moved. The project started again almost from the beginning. Dan was very apologetic and said that the wrong measurement had never occurred before and he never would have had the work completed if it wasn?t correct. And Dan assured us that there would be no additional cost for us. The project is now completed and it is spectacular. Even with the delay we can?t say enough about how happy we are with CCB. All of CCB?s integrity and honesty continue to impress us. We are planning on having more remodeling work done and CCB is at the top of our list.

What a great company! From the moment we met Dan we knew this was a company we wanted to work with. His estimate is detailed so you know exactly what you are getting. Because we wanted to work with Country Creek we waited four months before starting our project and are so glad we did. All of his team and subcontractors had the same message "we want you to be happy". Music to my ears. They were all friendly, respectful of our home, cleaned each day and completed the work as expected. Country Creek also has great project management. They use an on-line tool that allowed us to know exactly what work we could expect would be done each day. We could view all documents and drawings on-line. When changes were made to the schedule, we were promptly notified. The work was finished on time and is exactly what we hoped it to be. Needless to say, they met their "we want you to be happy" goal. We highly recommend the Country Creek team.

If this contractor is so busy with "bigger" jobs, perhaps he should available not be on Angie's list for other smaller jobs. He seemed utterly disinterested the whole time he was evaluating our basement. Very unprofessional attitude. Terrible. I would never refer this company ever. Cathy Larson
Description of Work: Nothing. Contractor begrudgingly gave us only a verbal bid on refinishing our basement of over $20,000 & said he would send us written by email soon. Several weeks later we received a call back after again requesting a written bid. He stated that he had just taken on other "bigger" projects & would be busy the remainder of the summer/fall & was not interested in helping us.

[Member name removed], I am sorry that you have taken offense that I was not able to help you with your project. As I told you when we first meet, that your budget of $20,000.00 was not sufficient for your project. I also informed you that the normal minimum basement project starts around $45,000.00, and that I would not be able to help you at your price point. I Emailed you with-in a couple of days of our meeting to inform you that I would not be able to provide you with an estimate for your company.

After 20 years with our house’s original master bathroom, we decided it was time for an upgrade. This was not a simple “throw-a-piece-of-granite-down-to-make-it-look-more-modern” project, but rather, we wanted to gut it and start over. So, we went to Angie’s List and got the names of 5 contractors, and made appointments with all of them. After all, we were only going to do this project once, and wanted it done right. We immediately hit it off with Dan from Country Creek. His personality was easygoing and his knowledge was impressive. However, perhaps more importantly, he demonstrated just the right amount of productivity for us. For example, when he first walked into our bathroom, he said, “Well, I think for your new shower, you should expand it out further. It will give you more room. You’ll love it.” What a great idea! We wouldn’t have thought of something like that. In fact, this type of forward thinking was the norm – he made great suggestions involving everything from lighting to a storage tower on the vanity to a timed fan to (get this) putting an outlet and holder in the drawer where my wife keeps her hair dryer. Brilliant! He also showed flexibility when, a few times, our vision changed during the project. We were especially appreciative that he put the drain and faucet on the opposite end of the tub than that which was originally discussed. We were so pleased with how he mapped out his vision for the bathroom, we asked him to add more lighting to the closet and our master bedroom. Productivity from Dan again: “Hey, how about sconces on both sides of the wall above your bed?” Our response: "Why not?!" So, our bathroom remodel turned into a master suite upgrade, and we were able to stay within our budget. And while the visual appeal approved exponentially, it is also now more functional and enjoyable to use. OK, now the basics. His crew was friendly, respectful, kept to their deadlines and minimized any mess. And while Dan’s estimate was among the lowest of the five we received, as you can see, there was no sacrifice when it came to quality or workmanship. Oh, and about the pricing. Talk about transparency! The estimate was 11 pages, and went through everything. Several times, when things changed, he promptly got us a new estimate reflecting the changes. Down to the penny. In short, we were extremely pleased with Country Creek. Thanks, Dan!

The work that Dan and team did was amazing. They were always on time, on budget and very professional. The painting that was done was at the highest quality. They treated our home like it was theirs! The wood floors look great! This is the second time we have had Dan and team do work in our home. Prior to this work, they did a full basement finish with wet bar, bath room, game area and tv area. As I mentioned above, they were always on budget, never going over the estimate that was provided. Any other work we need done, Country Creek Builders will be our contractor. Thanks Dan!
Description of Work: We had home repairs that need to be done on our first floor living area. We needed to have drywall patched, 5 rooms painted and hardwood floors refinished and all new lighting installed.

Since we had recently moved from out of state, we needed to find a contractor to finish off our lower level. We met with Dan of Country Creek Builders and other builders to discuss our project. We found that Dan's approach was different than all the others we contacted. Dan took notes and pictures of our unfinished basement, and then he began the design phase. Dan stated that the only way to accurately estimate our project was to design the project to our specification and then work on the costs. After several design changes, we had the design that we wanted. Dan then started working on the estimate for our project. Dan presented us with a 12 page estimate that gave us the detail that we were looking for. Dan provided allowance for the items that we would have to selects, such as tile, granite, Plumbing fixtures and other items. The allowances were broken out by the individual item; Allowance for one bar sink, Allowance for one bar faucet, etc. This was extremely helpful when we went to make our selections, and we found that the allowance given were accurate. During the beginning phase of the project, they had to remove a load bearing wall and replace it with a wood beam. (This was planned) After the wall was removed, it became obvious to Dan that the wood beam would not support the ceiling above due to the required length of the beam. Dan called a structural engineer to confirm what would be required to support our house. Due to the length of the removed wall ? the engineer determined that a 20 foot steel beam would be required. Dan stated that this was an oversight on his part ? and that he would not pass on the additional cost of the engineering and the beam to us. This showed us that Dan has integrity and values his relationship with the homeowners that hire him. The final cost of the project came in around $ 2,000.00 higher than Dan?s final estimate. This was due to three items that we added during the project. (Zoned Heating for the basement, running water lines for our water filtering system, and adding Knotty alder bead board above the bar). Dan?s cost did not deviate from the final estimate with the exception of the changes we added. The employees of Country Creek Builders do an amazing job, and handle all of the framing, tile work, carpentry work and painting. Their work is top notch. Our basement project turned out better than we had envisioned, and we are very happy and impressed with Country Creek Builders. All in all Dan and his team took a normally stressful situation and turned it into and exciting and fun process for us to watch unfold.

After 11 years, my husband and I decided to pull the plug and finally remodel at least one, probably both, of our upstairs bathrooms (main hallway bathroom and Master bedroom bathroom). After meeting and getting general estimates from a contractor-only "friend-of-a-friend" and another local remodeler who heavily advertises, we called Country Creek Builders based on reviews on Angie's List as well as visiting the company's website and reviewing the work pictured there and further reviews. Dan, the owner, came out within about a week of contacting the company. Since my husband and I had already been through 2 prior "interviews", we had our requirements and questions at the ready when Dan showed up. Dan was great! We went through what we did/did not like about our current bathrooms, what we would like to see done and that we weren't looking to "put a Minnetonka bathroom in an Apple Valley house" but we also weren't looking to put in cheap materials and cut corners either. Dan completely "got it". We really appreciated, both at the start of the estimate process, as well as throughout the whole remodeling process, Dan's honesty and upfront input, based on his 20+ years of experience in remodeling, if our ideas were not going to work or were unrealistic given our budget. Besides feeling very comfortable with Dan from our first meeting, one of other the biggest reasons we ultimately went with Country Creek Builders was how the initial cost estimate was presented: it was broken down into 2 sections -- labor and materials. As Dan first presented to us, his labor estimate was on point and typically didn't deviate (unless it was due to us making a major change - which he was also upfront about - verbally and in the labor estimate). The materials part of the estimate was based on our initial discussions and its final cost was completely in our court - if we picked out a material that was above what Dan estimated, the cost was on us. If we picked out a material that was below what Dan estimated, the savings went back to us. My husband and I really appreciated these guidelines when we started picking out materials - it helped keep us in check. Working with Country Creek also included ~ 4 hours of design time. I met with Dan after my husband and I had made our material selections and final design decisions to review everything with Dan and make sure we weren't choosing materials that would not work well with each other and our lifestyle or add undue costs during installation as well as verifying that any of our final design requests weren't unreasonable or too out there. I really appreciated, again, Dan's honesty and many years of remodeling experience to help finalize our choices. Once everything was finalized and we reviewed and approved the final invoice, Dan provided us with a detailed calendar of when Country Creek would start the work, what would be happening when during the whole remodeling project (i.e., demo day, painting day, tiling day, electrical day, etc.) and when the project would be finished. All of the people who came to work on our house from Country Creek Builders were professional and respectful of our house and family during construction. Our project was a complete gut-job and everything was removed down to the studs. The total project timeline given was 6 weeks. I am very happy to say that Dan and his staff delivered our completed main, hallway bathroom only 2 days past the initial projected finish date. We are absolutely thrilled with our new bathroom! Many of our friends and neighbors in the area have been extremely interested in our experiences with Country Creek Builders due to their past bad remodeling jobs and/or wanting to do future remodeling on their own homes. They, too, have been impressed with what they have seen and heard from my husband and myself and especially so after seeing the finished project. We are so thrilled with how this hallway bathroom turned out and our entire experience with Dan and the whole Country Creek team that we are moving forward with having Country Creek remodel our Master bathroom as soon as possible. Will report back with how that project turns out at a later time. Pluses working with Country Creek Builders: 1) Upfront and honest project estimate(s) 2) Design help included with project 3) Great team of workers - respectful and professional (both those who work directly for Country Creek Builders as well as subcontractors - electrical and plumbing) 4) Detailed project timeline and on-time project completion 5) Immediate to within 1 day response(s) to any questions/concerns with the project Minuses working with Country Creek Builders: 1) NONE -- highly, highly recommend and am recommending to friends and neighbors!
Description of Work: Remodeled a 1976-era main, hallway bathroom. Gutted entire bathroom down to the studs - nothing stayed. Knocked down a half wall, put in a 2-sink vanity and punched into the back of a hallway linen closet to put in a bathroom linen closet as well replaced ceiling, flooring, tub, tub surround, toilet, vanity, all fixtures and all lights.

We were on a time crunch to complete the job and they were very aware of this. They completed it on time, as promised. The crew was friendly and professional. They put coverings down to keep carpets clean and to keep new wood floor from getting scratched. The installation went off without a hitch. The attention to detail to complete the backsplash, with addition of pencils and just the right color grout was impeccable. We were very pleased with the quality of work, the timeliness of completing the job and the suggestions made for materials and suppliers. We certainly would hire Country Creek Builders again without hesitation
Description of Work: Dan, Dave and crew installed all new kitchen and 3 bathroom granite countertops, new sinks, new faucets, new backsplash and new wood kitchen flooring! It turned out gorgeous! We went with their suggestions for granite, flooring and sink suppliers and were thrilled with the outcome!

Country Creek was highly recommended to us by friends that had work doneby them at their home. We were in the process of getting designs and estimates done on our bathroom for a remodel when their name came up. Dan came in with his designer and they put together the design we wanted, and a very detailed estimate and work calendar. Their proposal was the best by far, and the quote was very competitive. We made the decision to work with them and get our bathroom remodeled. Dave (Dan's son) did a lot of the work, very talented. He arrived as scheduled without fail, kept us in the loop on what he was working on and provided progress updates at the end of everyday. When hurdles came up, they had a solution every time that we were very pleased with. Dan and Dave answered all of our questions, there were a lot, and addressed every concern. They responded to all calls, and emails. At the end of the project, they had completed everything they said they would before the job started. On time and on budget. We have recommended them to a number of our friends and family and will call them again for future projects.

There was an astronomical amount of work that needed to be done to this house in a short period of time. Dan and his crew (which included his son Dave) were able to finish the work in just over 5 weeks. Dan was upfront and organized from the start. His estimate was extremely detailed leaving no doubt as to what work was to be performed and what it would cost. His final invoice included line-by-line description of work performed and any additions or subtractions that occurred along the way. The crew kept the area as tidy as possible. Dave (who was the point man on the project) always took the time to speak with me about what they were doing and what had been done if I stopped by while they were working, always open to any changes I felt the need to make. I was very impressed with the final outcome. It truly was a transformation, and I am grateful for their hard work and attention. I would most definitely use Country Creek Builders again in the future, and I would highly recommend them for both small and large projects.

My wife and I moved back to the Twin Cities in 2012 and found a wonderful split-level home in Eagan, MN. However, we wanted to remodel the kitchen to the give the upper level of the house a more open design. We spoke with three different contractors after researching online and talking with friends. Of the three contractors we met with, Dan Drenckhahn of Country Creek Builders was the most impressive. For the total kitchen remodel we wanted to take out a wall and install new flooring, tile, granite, cabinets, and a bar to connect the living room with the kitchen. Each contractor we met with agreed our plans for the kitchen remodel were possible; Mr. Drenckhahn was the only one to give us advice on how to maximize various aspects of the project. We were impressed with the time, energy, and enthusiasm he had for drafting a proposal; quite frankly, the man has a pleasant force-of-nature zeal for his work that is infectious. And he also had an interior designer meet with us to discuss our plans and thoughts on colors and materials. My wife and I know our tastes, but we are far from experts on these topics, so it was incredibly helpful to have a competent and caring team work with us to explain the benefits and consequences of different design choices. Of the three contractors we spoke to, the quote from Country Creek Builders landed in the middle, and Mr. Drenckhahn went through the proposal line by line with us so we understood the choices that were being made. His crew started the kitchen remodel and quickly got to work. The project lasted approximately three weeks and his crew was professional ? and exacting. It is the final piece that was most satisfying for my wife and I. Country Creek Builders made it clear that they were not interested in cutting corners. If a piece of the project did not line up perfectly, then they worked to ensure the final product was just right. For example, there was a tiny gap between the newly installed bar and the existing hardwood floor. Without prompting, Country Creek Builders had a special piece built for the foot of the bar to conceal the space and line up seamlessly with our existing baseboard. This is not something my wife and I would have even known to ask for, and Mr. Drenckhahn made it happen without increasing the cost of the project. The results of the remodel are spectacular! It completely changed the dynamic in the upper level of our house and the bar and kitchen area is now a thriving place of activity when we have social gatherings. Two years after the remodel, we still have people who come to our house for the first time and remark, ?Wow, I love your kitchen.? We have some before-and-after photos of the space and people cannot believe the difference. We are so pleased with the high-quality work Country Creek Builders executed, and the friendly mentoring of Dan Drenckhahn. During the next summer in 2013, a severe hailstorm blasted through our neighborhood and resulted in significant damage to our roof and garage door. Given our confidence in Country Creek Builders, we avoided the many storm chasers who knocked on our door in the following weeks to offer us a great deal on a new roof. Instead, we once again contacted Mr. Drenckhahn and he helped us set up a plan to replace our roof and garage door. His crew once again worked in a timely and professional manner, communicating with us along the way. It was incredibly helpful to have a trusted contractor during this time of crisis, as we knew the work be of good quality and it reduced our stress level. This winter, we hired Country Creek Builders again to replace three windows and a sliding glass door in the bottom floor of our split-level home. The windows downstairs are approximately 30 years old and hemorrhage cold air in the winter months. Mr. Drenckhahn met with us, gave us options, and discussed how choices would affect the final price point. We agreed on the windows to be installed and his crew prepared to install the windows in December 2014. Mr. Drenckhahn informed us the first day of the project that he would not complete the work as scheduled because the windows ordered were not the right size. He voiced his sincere regret and apology and informed us his window provider made a mistake and the windows were too small. Mr. Drenckhahn explained that his crew could have made the windows work, but he said clearly, ?I would not allow that type of work in my house. I?m not going to do that in your house.? The project was delayed approximately one month as the proper-size windows were ordered. Country Creek Builders installed the new windows and sliding glass door in February 2015 and they have already made a huge difference to the temperature downstairs; it?s no longer an icebox! Although the window project had complications, we were happy that Country Creek Builders did not take advantage of us and install an inferior product in our house. I believe this speaks to Mr. Drenckhahn?s commitment to high-quality work. My wife and I are professionals in the healthcare field, so whenever we have to deal with a mechanic or another service provider outside of our area of expertise there is the worry about ?getting screwed.? In my mind, one of the highest compliments I can give to Mr. Drenckhahn and his team with Country Creek Builders is that we have NO worry that we are going to get screwed. That piece of mind is priceless! Country Creek has completed three projects for us since 2012, and we are already working with Mr. Drenckhahn on a possible fourth for later in the year. We also have a fifth in mind! If you are searching for an honest contractor who has the personality and competence to assist you with making the best choices for a home improvement project ? or respond to a crisis ? then I believe you will not be disappointed with Country Creek Builders. They have our highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Country Creek Builders has performed three jobs for my wife and I including a full kitchen remodel, replacing our roof after a hailstorm, and most recently installing new windows in the downstairs of our split-level house. The cost of the three projects was approximately $40,000.

Positive experience from beginning to end. The owner, Dan, was extremely responsive and knowledgeable, and Dave and the crew were very skilled and friendly. Here are some other notes: The plans for the proposed work was a three dimensional picture that made it much easier to see what the end product would look like. The software was very high-end. The invoice for the work was extremely thorough and easy to read. Everything was accounted for so we knew exactly where we stood if we wanted to change or eliminate something. Any changes were reflected in a new invoice and sent to us immediately. We have not had this experience before, but it certainly led to trust and a sense that everything was transparent. Cost was very fair for the work we wanted to have done. Quality of the work was outstanding! We had a heated floor installed, a new ceiling, an expansion of the closet, a larger and tiled shower put in, new cabinetry, and a gorgeous granite counter top. Dan came with me to select shower tile, floor tile, and granite that would complement each other and the places we went to did quality work. The crew placed the tile and really had a sense of what would look great and it sure did! When I had thoughts or suggestions, they quickly accommodated and were so easy to work with, even when it meant replacing a piece of tile. The crew was courteous and hard-working. They did a nice job putting up a tarp to keep the dust at a minimum (although there was still dust that needed to be cleaned up). They cleaned up after themselves each day and communicated well about what they were doing and what would be coming up in the next day or two. The work took a bit longer to complete than we were hoping for, but it was usually due to outside circumstances. Dan was on top of the situation and made it right. He takes great pride in the work Country Creek does and it was greatly appreciated. This is a company that I highly recommend with no reservations. We're already thinking about what might be our next project with them :-)
