Christopher's Masonry & Tile LLC

Our 40 yr old chimney leaked after the last harsh winter and the rain this spring. We called Chris to come out and look at the chimney as he did our glass block windows a couple of years ago. Chris examined the chimney and gave us an estimate and an approximate time he would be able to get to it. A week after we accepted the estimate, he brought by some brick samples for us to look at that resembled the brick facet on the house. A few days later he delivered the bricks. He started the job about a week before his estimated time and finished it on time. The new chimney looks great and a weekend of rain testified the quality work Chris did. Very happy with the results, the promptness and Chris' professionalism.

Chirs scheduled time to meet with me to review the project upfront providing some options to finish out corners as I had never thought of that aspect and was glad to physically see the actual options available that coordinated extremely well with the backsplash tile I selected. He was prompt arriving early so that I could provide access to my residence prior to my departure to the workplace. Chris is respectful, courteous, upfront and cleans up well. He even brought in my garbage and recycle containers whcih I definitely appreciated due to the early spring snow storm we experienced. This is the third project Chris has completed at my residence and he will be my first call whenever masonry and tile services are needed. Thanks Chris for another job well done!!!

The job went great. Chris is a real perfectionist. He arrived when he said he would, did a great job, offered some great ideas and left the site in a perfect condition. He did such a good job I hired him again to tuck point a fireplace in our basement. Review to follow.

While other contractors submitted bid lower than Christopher's, it was clear from talking with him and reviewing comments from others in Angie's List that he was one of the better contractors. I agree with this assessment. His efforts, coordination, and final product pleased us very much. We were and are impressed by him and others who worked with him. That said, I expected to have to make a down payment prior to work commencing. No such payment was required. Neither was a written contract. I find these omissions to be oversights. Written contracts and down payments protect both the contractor AND the customer. I would strongly suggest Christopher's have such contracts and down payments in the future. We are VERY pleased with the work and Christopher himself. We recommend him to any and all who are seeking contractors for similar projects. A class act in every respect.

Chris did an absolutely outstanding job. He offered may suggestions to improve on what we had designed. He was extremely diligent in getting back to me with answers to any question I had. He is very picky about the work he does and expects to do a perfect job. He is busy so we worked with his schedule allowing him to do some prep work ahead of time and as a result had the entire job finished 2 weeks ahead of expectations. I will use him again everytime.

Chris was great to work with! I would recommend him to anyone. He was extremely meticulous and communicated well with us during the entire process from the time of the estimate all the way until completion of the work. We had wall corners that were not square, walls that weren't straight, a tub that wasn't quite level, marble tiles that weren't the same depth and that didn't have square corners and glass tile, all of which made this a challenging installation. Chris worked through all of it with great care and flexibility. Because of these difficulties, the installation took more time than he originally estimated, but he stayed with the original cost estimate.

We had a wonderful remodel experience thanks to Chris. When he first provided the estimate, I knew I wanted him to do the work due to his level of detail and explanation. We acquired three bids, and Chris was right in the ballpark with the other two. Chris was very puctual, arriving each day at the time he said he would (normally 7:30 am). He protected the existing carpeting with drop clothes and cleaned up the work area each day. When rebuilding the shower, took extra care in the framing and planed existing framing which had warped and would have potentially caused problems later with the tile. He consulted with us on the layouts of the tile, providing his expertise when we weren't sure. In the end, the bathroom turned out beautiful! I would highly recommend Chris!

Chris is very easy to work with. He has great suggestions for complicated installations (sunroom). I would recommend him for any tile installation you might have. He is very meticulous and unlike other bidders he attempts to do the job the right way, not just the easiest way.

He was prompt. He did everything he said he would do. He also charged me exactly what he quoted.

This job was an A+ performance from the time Chris came to give us an estimate to finishing the job. He was on time for everything and is a diligent worker. For a small charge, Chris agreed to pick up our tile order from the store. Even though it had been confirmed that the order was in, part of the order was missing when Chris went to get it. He ended up having to make a few trips and to his credit he did not show any impatience when all of this happened. It turns out that the material we chose was one of the most difficult to cut. Glass can crack and slate can crumble or break. This is where it pays to have someone with Chris' level of experience. When Chris sets up the work area, he makes sure everything close to the site is protected and covered. All of the tiles were cut to perfection and the surround of the fireplace looked great. We had picked out a slate stone for the hearth but it was too thick. The builders hadn't put the proper type of flooring underneath the tiles that were originally in the house so there was no way to take the depth down. Chris took the slate back for us and picked out a ceramic tile that looked like slate. He called me from the store and I looked at the sample he picked out online. I trusted Chris' judgement call on the coloring. We have a large kitchen and the backsplash for the kitchen was around 25 square feet. He encountered one issue while putting up the backsplash in the kitchen. The area under the window by the kitchen sink was too narrow to fit the number of rows to match the continuation of tile after that point. Chris gave me a couple of options to think about and gave me his opinion on what he thought was best. He ended up putting the tiles under the window in a vertical pattern instead of horizontal. It actually looked like a custom focal point and I was exceptionally pleased. Chris finished both jobs in 4 days which is amazing. On top of this, he worked with a wet saw in extremely frigid weather. I don't know how he does it. At the end of the job he vacuumed the work area inside and swept the garage where he used the wet saw. Chris has a great personality and that just made everything all the better. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. We will definitely call Chris for any future tile jobs and I will be happy to refer him to my friends.

Chris provided a detailed estimate from the very beginning so I knew upfront the approximate required investment including the available discounts at his prefered tile stores. Chris followed up weeks before the appointment to see if I had located the tile for installation ensuring that there was enough lead time for delivery to maintain the mutually agreed upon schedule and also provided guidance for locating the shelves which I was experiencing difficulties in locating. Furthermore upon review of my selections, Chris provided a recommendation for a finishing piece for the one wall above the border. Extremely grateful for Chris' knowledge and recommendation as it gives the area a completed polished and custom look that is absolutely spectacular!. Could not wait for my Mother to see the difference and was elated to hear her comment 'absolutely beautiful, it looks like a different bathroom''. Chris was punctual which is a requirement with my busy schedule. Cannot wait to have the floor tiled. Thankful again for Chris' expertise and recommendation to choose the tile in a contrasting color instead of the same color tile as installed. This for sure will create the look I desire with the centerpiece being the Jacuzzi tub that I enjoy. Chris was always here at the time he told us. He was very conscientious with cleanup and protecting our floors throughout the rest of the house. We have never had anyone cleanup as thoroughly each day, while doing what could have been a messy job. He did an absolutely wonderful job! He created the pattern that we asked for on the walls. He had excellent suggestions for the tub deck and other walls. Chris spent time making sure that the walls were plumb so that we wouldn't have a rippled wall. He was always pleasant and polite and great to have him do the work. We will definitely use him again.

Had a preliminary visit to discuss the scope of the job. He then worked around our schedule. Chris showed promptly at 8 AM as scheduled. He charged by the hour to remove some defective slate tiles (approximately 3" x 3"). He hand chisled out each piece after cutting the grout surrounding each piece. Was very careful to not damage any adjacent tiles. He then individually cut 4 pieces from a single 12" x 12" piece of slate that we provided from the original construction. He also utilized the original grout we had left from the original construction to ensure a match. The finish work was excellent, and he ensured the bathroom was cleaned after he was done with the project.

Chris installed a ceramic tile in our kitchen (back splash) and bathroom (floor tile and shower enclosure). I give Chris my highest recommendation. Everything you look for in a contractor, Chris has: - Competitive price - Excellent workmanship. All the little things and the big things were done very, very well. I've tried to lay tile myself in the past. I come nowhere near the quality that Chris does. - Scheduling to match our needs. However, Chris is very busy, so book early. That said, it's worth a wait if you have to. - On time every day - Diligent work throughout the day (I worked out of the house for much of the project. Chris doesn't wast time). The project was complete very quickly. - Accommodated our mid-project design changes. And fair treatment in terms of pricing, etc. - Clean work area during and very clean after the project. - And, Chris seems like a good guy! I've used many contractors over the years for various projects around the house. I wish every contractor I use was like Chris. .

Very happy!! Chris restored my faith in contractors, he responded to my first call w/in 2 hours, was on time for the estimate, was on time for the work and was here when he said he would be here. The quality of the work was great, the price was reasonable. I would hire him again in a minute and would highly recommend him for the brick work he did at our house

Chris was a delight to work with. We just bought the house and the sunroom and attached bathroom had some awful carpeting. Chris came on a weekend to view the room and take measurements. He had an itemized price list to us by that evening. I removed the carpet and plumbing from the bathroom and purchased the tile. We were able to get his contractor discount on that. Chris showed up each day on time and explained what he would be doing that day. The craftsmanship was top notch. That was most evident in the tile cuts and grouting around the radiators. So well done with no imperfections and I know those are difficult cuts. The project was finished on schedule and on budget. In addition, for the portions of the job we did ourselves, he offered appropriate advice and corrected my mistakes. We would definitely hire him again.

The marble shower floor in our master bath was leaking, and we called Chris to check it out. When he came over he did a very thorough inspection and a detailed explanation of what he thought the problem was and the best way to resolve it. (Basically, the original install was poorly done and lacked the proper waterproofing.) Chris was able to complete the work sooner than expected, and he detailed the project to us as he went along. He was very neat and efficient with his work. The new floor turned out great, and it looks better than the original floor. We highly recommend Chris and would use him for any future tile/stone work that comes up for us.

We had used Chris last fall to re-do the tile in our lower level bathroom, so knew what to expect. Chris arrived every day at expected time and worked fast and professionally. He finished in a shorter time than we anticipated and are extremely pleased with the final work.

It was absolutely fabulous to work with Chris. He was very quick and responsive to provide us with the initial estimate. His scheduling was realistic and accurate. He does the work himself. He is a detailed craftsman. Chris was also very considerate to spread drop cloths from the work area to the front door and laid cardboard to protect the surrounding tile floor. He cleaned up at the end of each day. There were no surprises in scheduling or costs. It was truly a pleasure working with Chris. I am certain he will be doing more work in our home when the need arises.

Chris located matching bricks quickly and was able to finish the job in a timely, professional manner.
