Jeff's Auto Service Inc

After comparing bids from 3 different auto shops. The three bids were all similar, about 400-420.00 dollars for hitch parts, wiring and installation. I decided to go with Jeff's since they are highly regarded on Angie's list and also it was convenient to get to Mainstreet Hopkins. I was quoted for .5 to 1 hour of labor for installation of the hitch plus they would order the wiring and the hitch parts. upon arriving at Jeff's, they were professional, punctual, and courteous. Since I expected this to take .5 hour or 1 hour at the most, I went for a walk and came back after about 45 minutes. When I got back, I was informed by the man at the counter that they had run into some problems with the wiring harness they had ordered and they needed to wire it directly into the battery and it was taking a longer time than expected to wire this. After another hour to 90 minutes, I heard from the very congenial staff that they were almost done and they reiterated they didn't know it was going to take so long to wire it. When I got the bill, it was for an extra hour of labor, because the total price was $569.00. A 5 minute google search and watching a video from etrailers.com revealed that its about a 15 minute job to install the wiring harness which is located in the rear of the vehicle on the passenger side about halfway between the window and the floor. The video showed my make and model and how to install the wiring harness (comparable in price to the one they had ordered). I expected that if they were going to order a part that took an extra hour to install they would have done the research and included that in their bid or done research and ordered a part that wouldn't require running wiring throughout the entire length of the vehicle and wouldn't cost me an extra $150.00

We just bought a used car with 96000 miles on it and wanted to get it in shape for our kids to drive. That is about the time the timing belt needs replacing so we decided to do it plus have other needed preventative/maintenance done. We found Jeff's on Angie's List and called them. They were very courteous in setting up the appt and kept in regular contact throughout the repair process to let us know the progress and any issues they identified, giving us the opportunity to decide whether we wanted the work done or not. I was pleasantly surprised at the total cost of repairs and our experience with Jeff's was great.

Excellent! I trust my car to the mechanics at Jeff's. I wil not go back to the mall-type car repair shops. I have always felt taken advantage of at these other places, and always spend much more than I expected. They always seem to find some other little thing wrong. Jeff's gives it to you straight and upfront, and they don't treat women like they don't know anything!

I called Jeff's Auto about the cracked radiator, which was no longer holding fluid at a few minutes before their closing time for the day. They immediately searched the cost for a new radiator, ordeedr it to be onsite first thing in the morning. They asked if I needed a tow, but I was able to drive it to their location. Jeff's Auto replaced my radiator and fixed the issue with my heating system that day. They also dropped me off at work when I arrived that morning. Their estimate to repair was actually a little below the estimate. I am always very pleased with the service I receive at Jeff's Auto.

Before deciding on Jeff's, I was told that I would need a new radiator which would cost about $500 installed on my 18-year old Volvo. Hesitating to spend this on a car on now use very little and expect to give away soon, I waited until things got bad and I then went to Jeff's which had the best ratings of near by service places and expected to spend a lot. He told me that the radiator was okay but I needed a new coupling. Cost was just over $200 and I thought a good deal considering the labor involved and the cost of the parts. While there I had the routine lube, oil and filter change done and that is the onlly reason for giving them a B on price instead of an A. But they deserve a solid A overall. Their honesty and courtesy and other information about minor road noise concerns make me sure to go back there for service, even if routine stuff is slightly cheaper elsewhere.

Jeff's Auto Service Inc are very good. They test the car and check if there is anything else going on. I haven't had a breakdown since I started going to them because they are very thorough in checking the car. It is a family operation, they are very professional, very ethical and very good at advising you.

I brought my car in for a radiator leak and throughout the entire process Paul gave first class service. I did call a few other places beforehand to get pricing and Jeff's came back the most reasonable. After I dropped off my car, Paul called me to say there were a few additional items and wanted to bring them to my attention since they were safety related. Along with that he provide estimated costs and told me I could decline the service if I wish. I ended up agreeing to the additional service and still got my car back that day. At no time did I feel pressured. I would definately go back for needed service. This is truly a family owned company and I like to support small business.

We found Jeff's Auto Service, Inc. very professional, cordial, and offering a fair price for repairs and service. Amazing customer service Paul! We will definitely return.

They were able to get our truck in immediately and kept in touch with us as they diagnosed the problem. They needed to perform several tests and found more than one issue that needed fixing along the way. They kept in touch with us so we were aware of the amount we were spending. They kept the truck overnight to perform one last pressure test to make sure the heater core was ok. The truck is now running well and we will definitely return to Jeff's Auto for our future service needs.

Honest service, trustworthy.

My car died in the parking lot of the gym and after looking on Angie's List for good mechanics (we are new to the area and had nowhere to go - a mechanic is not something you want to mess up!), I found 2 that I wanted to contact. Jeff's was my first choice because of the reviews but time was of the essence - I had to be back on the road by 1 for meetings the next day. They were booked through that Friday but took my number and promised to call me back if there was something they could do. Not only did they call me back to let me know that they could take me, they had me squared away by 10am the next day, with plenty of time to make my appointment, AND they came to pick me up so I would not have to take a cab over to the shop (I was within the 5mile shuttle service area). When they called to let me know what was wrong (started had gone bad), they offered options of a 3 yr or lifetime warrantee starter (without pressure to choose one over the other). They were professional and honest and extremely helpful throughout the entire process, especially Paul! An amazing customer service experience and would definitely recommend them to others. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Jeff's has a great system. I booked the appointment on a Sunday online, someone called me on Monday to talk about our situation. The testing was completed on time and gave us detailed information. We did not decide the to have the entire transmission replaced because of the value of the auto otherwise. However, we received really good information for a relatively small amount of money. We would go back again.

I thought it was a good fit; the customer service was great. The gentleman who answered the phone and who ultimately was behind the front desk seemed to be very helpful and listened to what we needed done. We ultimately did not have any of the work done they did check out our vehicle but he offered suggestions after I mentioned that the repairs were so major that we needed a new vehicle. He also told us that if we were looking for a used vehicle we could bring it in and they would check it out for us; they were very helpful in that way. I compared them with another vendor that I checked pricing on and they came out higher but I went to them based on their knowledge.

The service was performed as expected.On time, on target for price. No surprises. They will check over your car when it is in for service to make sure that when it leaves, you have a well maintained vehicle.

You need two things in this world: a good lawyer and an honest mechanic. Jeff, Leeann, Curt and Paul are honest and great at what they do. They'll tell you what you need to do, what you don't need to do and what you'll need to do X number of months from now. They've been our mechanics from approximately 2006 and will continue to be. The $1.00 amount represents their fair pricing.

Jeff's Auto is easy to deal with, and will be honest with suggestions concerning your vehicle's future prospects. After $10,000 of repairs, the front office rewards you a 10% discount for being a repeat customer. The reason I gave Jeff''s a "B" in price, is because I personally associate "A" prices with getting something for free. As an American, I bristle at the prospects of both not getting what I pay for and not paying for what I get.

Every interaction with everyone at Jeff's is great. Cordial, competent and precise. From information and estimates to repairs and service, I trust Jeff's to have my interests in mind. Example: I took my Miata in for it's seasonal tire swap - prepared to hear that I would need a new set of summer tires, but instead, both Paul and Kurt said, "you've got at least another season on these - we'll do it next year". Nearly any other shop would have been more than happy to sell and install tires whether I needed them or not. Trust is huge!

They provided good and timely service. I did not have any cooling, so they checked it out and recharged it, and it worked fine. I felt their price was very reasonable. One of the things that made me go to them was their location. I always had the feeling that that area was good for auto mechanical service. I would rate them highly and would certainly use them again in the future.

I have been there several years. They are very good and that's why we keep going back. They are totally honest and totally fair. It was very reasonably priced compared to everybody else. Everything we ever had done there is top notch work.

Paul, the owners' son was a great help during the process of determining the cause of damage. They allowed my vehicle to remain on their hoist while the other driver's insurance company's field agent was able to arrive to view the damage. I am a regular customer, and i rely upon "Jeff's" to keep my work vehicles in working order. If you spend a total of $10,000 in work at their shop, they'll give you a 10% discount toward any additional work they ever do for you!

We had it towed to Jeff's where they determined the problem among a few possibilities and fixed it ? all within 24 hours. Everyone is pleasant, accommodating, skilled and honest, and the shop is spotless. LeeAnn deserves special mention. We also leave with a couple of tips and valuable information - from tire wear and fuel pump life spans, to when NOT to refuel. I also trust Jeff's with my Miata.

Jeff's has performed several services on our cars and we've always been very happy. They can get us in quickly, they give us a thorough explanation of what service is needed now and what can wait until later. I think their prices are very good. I trust them and have never felt that they were trying to do service that was unnecessary. We will continue to use Jeff's for our cars.

It went extremely well. I was hearing/feeling pulsing in my brakes. I went to Tires Plus in Hopkins, and they said that I needed a complete brake job, including pads, rotors, & calipers, at a cost of $350.00. I took my car to Jeff's for a second opinion. They inspected the brakes and determined that NOTHING was wrong with them. The rotors, calipers and pads were fine. What they noticed during their road test was that there was a worn part in the rear suspension of the car which needed to be replaced. This cost $120. They were friendly, responsive, and professional. They also saved me over $300 in unnecessary auto repairs. I'm very appreciative of that.

I helped my daughter buy a used car for my granddaughter, a new driver. We took the car we selected, which we knew had major mechanical problems, to Jeff's for a used car inspection and got a report on the work that needed to be done. Armed with the report, my daughter negotiated a price for the car that took into account the work that needed to be performed. Jeff's did all the work in a timely manner, keeping us informed of the progress at each stage. Our granddaughter is very pleased with the car, and the total of the price we paid and the cost of repairs is still less than the "blue book" value of the car. We have the added confidence that the car is mechanically sound. This is the second time we've used Jeff's and we continue to be very impressed with their first-rate work and excellent communications.
