I use Dale Feste Automotive for my auto service.  They're the only automotive company I'll use.  They're wonderful, they're reliable, they know your car, they keep accurate records, they never do anything with your car unless you have discussed it ahead of time, they tell you what the price is going to be and all of that sort of thing.  They'll show you all the used parts if you are so inclined to be distrustful.  If you have a little bump in your car you can stop in and they will make time in their schedule to handle it.  The original Thrifty was the top mechanic at auto mechanics at the high school in the town of Hopkins,  he opened a shop in downtown Hopkins so that has to say something about how good he is.  He's good.   They said they could change my air conditioning but it would cost a bundle, and Tom didn't think it was worth it.  So I agreed with him and we didn't do it.  They have probably changed every part in my engine over time, but that thing runs like a top.  I was there in December of 2016.  It cost $33 or something like that.  I recommend them to friends.  The antenna had gotten salt and sand down in it and they had to take it apart and replace it because it quit going up and down.  It took them three days to find a replacement in America and I don't think that was their fault.

Dale has a outstanding shop! I think their prices are very fair.

They are extremely honest and capable. I thought I needed new brakes so I took my car in, turns out the noise I was hearing was actually due to not using my brakes enough. They are very accommodating, took me home when needed.

They try to hard to take good care of their customers.

Rear brakes making terrible noise.  Easy to make appt to get car in and nice people to deal with.  Price is fair but would always like it lower.  Believe there quality is very good. Had exhaust done 10 months ago and everything is very solid and quiet.

It was very positive.  They call as soon as they can to give you a quote and get to it.  If there is something that is possibly that needs to be done they will let you know but if it does not need to be done immediately they tell you that you can wait a month or how long it might be.  They work on time and very efficiently.

Honest and friendly service! My parents started using Dale Feste's back in the late 80's, and I have been taking my car in for the last several years. They are up front about what repairs and servicing are needed rather than pressuring recommendations. As someone who has been taken advantage of in the past, this is greatly appreciated. I know that I can always rely on Feste's to take good care of both me and my car.

The people at Dale Feste informed me of the problem and the approximate price, since the vehicle manufacturer had used more than one variety of alternator in my Jetta. I was promptly notified when the correct part had been located and it was installed for less than the original estimate. I'm one happy customer!

I had always taken my car to the dealer to be serviced, and decided to try Dale Feste to save some money. I read all the outstanding reviews on the list and decided that this was the place to try. I spoke with Tom several times on the phone and was so optimistic about dealing with him. He was so straightforward and easy to talk to. He gave me a quote and we scheduled some time to replace my timing belt a few weeks later. We discussed it being a one-day job. When I arrived at the appointment time, I met Tom. I was concerned from the beginning as he seemed a little scattered, not remembering our conversation or having the appointment. When he finally located the estimate, we reconfirmed the price, but he told me that he didn't think he could get the work done that day as promised but would need overnight. We also discussed the possibility of replacing the spark plugs. He said that he would research if it was needed and give me a call. At 3:30 that day, I had not heard from him, so I called and he had forgotten to do that. We discussed the price again to include the spark plugs. The next day, we picked up the car after hours, and the receipt was in the car. The bill was $1600, which was $300 more than was quoted. I called to discuss this the next day with Tom and had a 45-minute conversation during which he really couldn't identify the variance. He also mentioned that his work was guaranteed for 18 months. During our previous conversations, he had said 24 months (which he denied, and on the website it says a totally different number: - 12). I expressed my frustration and, as consolation, he offered me a free oil change. For me, a $30 oil change does not come close to making up for that level of error. I expected more, much more from a shop with this many A+ reviews. I guess it depends on the day.
Response from Dale Feste Automotive
"I apologize to the customer for the misunderstanding on his bill or getting the vehicle done the same day. We went over the price including the added on tuneup charge before the work was started. He agreed to the cost of repairs. I explained with the added tuneup we could not complete in one day since this was a time consuming service to begin with. He authorized the repairs including the extra cost for tuneup. I extend Angie's List customers a 18 month and/or 18,000 mile warranty. My commercial accounts and extended after market warranties are 12 months and/or 12,000 miles and that maybe where the confusion was. My warranties are found on this site as well as my company website and printed materials. The discussion happened when he picked the vehicle up after services were completed. I assumed all questions were answered to his satisfaction before services began. Again I apologize for the misunderstanding and will always work to be fair and ethical with my customers."

Done as promised. They gave a professional first impression with a neat, clean place of business. They explained the procedure with drawings and gave very quick service.

They fixed a hole in my oil pan. If I need a ride home, they drop me off and pick me up, too. They are cordial and knowledgeable. They always show me the parts, and they always ask before they do any work. They are honest and tell me when I can hold off on work.
