Wayne and his crew were very professional. They care about doing the job right the first time. They are very fussy about the details and cleaned up the site after each visit, right down to hand sweeping the street. Highly recommended.

From the initial meeting for an estimate until the completion of the project, Mr. Jellison did what he said he would do in the time frame we had agreed upon. The workmen were punctual and courteous, and did their work in a timely and professional manner. I was very pleased with the result, and would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to my family and friends.

A very important end result desired from this project was to redirect rainwater away from my garage door. Due to the terrain this was not entirely possible but Jellisons did their best to accomplish that end and volunteered to dig a trench for me to install a drain pipe to get rid of water running down the driveway. There has been no rain since by which to judge the results.

Wayne, the owner, was responsive, answered my questions, provided many references in the area, showed up as promised, and today gave us a driveway that meets our expectations. Of the three options we considered, Jellison was the only one that warned us about a potential footing problem before they started work on our driveway. This was indeed the case...nice not to be surprised by an additional cost.

Besides dating to 1992 and therefore due for replacement, the blocks underneath where the asphalt joins the concrete garage floor were deteriorating. Wayne explained the needed repairs and provided a detailed written estimate. His crew arrived as scheduled and worked quickly and efficiently. Since new concrete had to be poured and cured to correct the block problem, the work had to happen in stages. We always got a phone call from Wayne to arrange the work day and his crew was always there as scheduled. His crew got down to business and performed the work as unobtrusively and quietly as was possible given that they were tearing up old asphalt and running cement mixers. We greatly appreciate that there was no unnecessary noise - no loud radios or yelling during the process. We also appreciate that cleanup after each day's work was exemplary - no construction debris and no property damage of any kind. All told he and his crew did a great job and we are looking forward to using our new driveway!

The job was delayed due weather, once that was resolved, they did the job as outlined in a professional manor. You want a job done right with a fare price, call them!

I picked Jellison because Wayne did a great job of explaining the process and cost. I wanted to understand what they'd be doing and why and the timing of everything. He did a great job of setting expectations . . . explaining how the rain in May/June put them behind schedule and everything would be dependent on future weather. Wayne called to give me a heads up before each step and when I should expect the guys at my house. The crew was very professional and answered any questions I had. The driveway was ripped out one week and new footings in at the end of the week. A few days later they put in the new driveway which looks beautiful. I would recommend Wayne to anyone who needed to replace their driveway.

Jellison's did a terrific job of providing an estimate, answering any questions I had about the timing of the project, costs, and long term care of the finished product. They were here to remove the old driveway on time, and did a good job of removing the existing driveway without damaging any of the lawn or sprinkler system that they had to work near. The installation of the new driveway went well, and looks great. The only delay was weather related, as heavy rains delayed the installation for several days for drying. I especially appreciated the installation crew. They answered all the questions I had, and, addressed any issues/concerns that I had at the time of installation. They did a nice job and were extremely polite and efficient.

The Jellisons workers were all very professional. They were on time when they said they were going to do the work and knew what work they had to get done. I was impressed with how fast and efficient they did the job. The finished driveway looks great and I will be recommended them to other friends.

It went great from time of call to service date it took approx. 3 weeks to come out. They filled in cement near garage as it was cracking and layed asphalt over it. After completion they cleaned up their mess and now our driveway looks great.

Very professional and thorough. Wayne explained every step of the process (which takes a couple weeks to complete). To date we have only had the old driveway removed and the base gravel installed. On Saturday the crew came and installed concrete under the old concrete apron where 30+ years of salt had eroded the concrete blocks underneath which supported the apron. Wayne was very clear about how they inspect those blocks and if they were gone he would insist on pouring concrete there to insure the new driveway would not sink or dip right up by the garage. The crew has been very punctual, professional and helpful. Knowing what to expect on a project we had no previous experience is very helpful. Awaiting the final install of the new asphalt in the coming days. Can't wait.

From the day I met with Wayne I felt I could easily work with this man. He listened carefully to what I had in mind for the driveway project and helped me "fine tune" idea into a working plan that would meet my needs. We agreed on a start date and, weather permitting everything was a go. When he and his crew arrived for the removal of the old driveway, they went right to work.... 1. noting the buried power and utility lines that Wayne had service companies mark prior to construction, 2. marking the new outline of the driveway to insure it would fit in the area I wanted, 3. cutting in the new driveway border...making sure to protect the marked power, phone and cable buried lines, 4. removed the old blacktop surface quickly and neatly and hauled the refuse away, 5. laid down a crusher-rock and stone bed and thoroughly packed it. Wayne and his crew took plenty of time to make sure the base material was fully packed and at a proper height and angle of drainage away from the house and garage (to insure rain and runoff would not drain back to the building and/or basement of the building. they also watered the new base material down and then roller packed it again. Wayne then told me we could (and should) drive on the base material for five or six days prior to his team returning to lay the final blacktop surface. We did!....four cars were on and off the gravel surface several times every day, even during the three days of rain we experienced prior to blacktopping. When the base surface had dried following a few rainy days, Wayne and his crew returned with trucks, blacktop material, surfacing machinery and roller-packers. After repacking the base material ( I had installed a small retaining wall on the outside of the new driveway lane I had Wayne add.) Wayne and the crew began laying the new blacktop. they were efficient and all five men knew their jobs and performed as a "well oiled machine" in completing the job in a professional and orderly manner. In fact, several neighbors brought out lawn chairs and sat in the shade of their front yard trees to witness the entire operation. One lady even had her two young daughters sitting on their lawn in amazement of the big machines and how precise they moved in this limited area. The job was definitely done to my satisfaction. Upon completion Wayne took time to detail to me and my wife the curing process of the blacktop....i.e. how long before we could drive on it, how long before we could "park" on it and when we could safely park our boat and trailer on the new stall we had added. He also left us a list of "enemies of blacktop". Most of them we suspected, but there were a few we were happy to find out about. Angie, Wayne Jellison blacktopping is a class act in my book. He started and finished as he said he would...(remember, this was an outside job so weather can have an effect on timing). His crew was professional, courteous and neat in their work and dealings with me and my wife. We would hire them again in a heart-beat. I recommend them highly!. The workmanship and service was great despite the weather not cooperating. Wayne Jellison and his staff were very attentive and answered any/all questions that we had. I would recommend Jellison Best Blacktop because Wayne understood what needed to be done to fix our foundation problems before the new driveway was installed.

My wife and i talked about the price and wanting to get this done before June 13, 2013, we decided to go with Jellison's with the aspirations of getting everything done by June 13th, 2013, because my wife's brother would be in town for a week. We called Wayne the very next day and he told us to mail him a check for 10% of the total bill and make a note on the proposal of having our driveway done on or before June 13, 2013. Several days went by, yes, we had a lot of rain, but no communication between Wayne and I. I finally called Wayne fo find out what was going on and he claimed that all the rain was setting him back but he made no effort to contact us and tell us what was going on.Wayne finally called and asked if they could come in and tear up the old driveway, Monday, June 13th, between the hours of 3pm-4pm, as they were in another county doing some work. I expected a phone call to say they were on the way but received nothing. I happen to stop by about 2:45pm and they were half way done tearing out the old driveway! Thank goodnes my wife was home at that time. The crew was just awesome, they cared about not damaging my wife's plants/flowers, and were utmost professional. At this time, I have to build ramps into our garage as the difference between what they took out and what we needed to pull in, was tremendous, The footings had to be poured and that took about a week to get that done, Wayne's communication was at 8:00pm that night and wanted to know if they could come in and pour the footings, which was a few days later. Wayne called me at 900pm, Monday evening, June 16, 2013. and wanted to know if it was okay to come out and pour the asphalt on Tuesday morn. I said yes, as my wife and her brother were in the house and could be there for any issues that came up. This whole process took way too long, no communication from the owner or Wayne, but the crew were some of the nicest people you would ever meet. i understand if rain makes you fall behind but one needs to communicate what is going on and stick to tha plan. As of Wednesday June 19th, 2013, we are now happy new driveway ownersbut Wayne needs to spell it out for future customer, going over every detail and what is going to happen, how long it takes, how long it takes to cure and drive on versus park on, I found a liking to Wayne but at the same time found a lot of weaknessess. thank you, John Ferrell

Jellison's came out to replace our blacktop driveway. The entire project went smoothly and was professionally done. No complaints.

It is a non-traditional style of driveway and they made it work. I did give them a 'B' on punctuality, but part of them not getting started right away was due to expected weather and them wanting a longer Labor Day holiday. The whole crew was friendly and very professional. We had three estimates and they were right in the middle. I had never had asphalt installed before and I was a little uneasy about using it in the timeframe they said we could, so I waited a little longer than they recommended. I have not seen any problems and so far I am happy with the results.

Our driveway along with the base underneath was in terrible condition. Due to positive customer comments on Angie?s List I called Jellison?s Best Blacktop for an estimate on removing our old driveway, adding a new gravel base and installing a new asphalt driveway. Jellison?s Best Blacktop foreman, Dave, came out that same afternoon. We accepted the estimate and put 10% down to finalize the project. The next week the crew came and removed and hauled away the old blacktop, put down the base and graded it. After the base had time to settle, Wayne and the crew came out to apply the asphalt. Scheduling was done with Wayne Jellison the owner, and he was open to working with our timeline. Because our driveway is 18? x 42? it only took a couple hours to complete the asphalt. They straightened out the sides of the driveway as was decided prior to the work. I was very satisfied with their time and attention to detail and the final outcome. The crew was polite, knowledgeable and explained what they were doing. They took great care in their cleanup, including the street in front of the driveway. Our driveway has now cured for two weeks and it is not only functional, but beautiful. I would definitely recommend Jellison?s Best Blacktop to anyone.

I had three estimates - and while Jellison's was not the cheapest estimate - I chose them because Wayne and his knowledge of what needed to be done that the other contractors did not mention. We had a large tree removed that was originally in the middle of a rock driveway that the stump had to be removed as well as numerous roots that went through the previous and current driveway. The completed job was great and I highly recommend Jellison's. They were clean, thorough and complete.

I had four companies out to estimate removing and replacing my driveway. Wayne had a reasonable rate and gave good detail as to what would be involved. He explained the whole process of removing the old driveway and installing the new one. He also informed me about a likely repair that we ended up needing, so there were no surprises. There were some delays due to miscommunication, but as soon as Wayne was informed about them, he immediately resolved them and the work was completed quickly. Now that the work is done, the driveway looks great and it?s a smooth transition from the driveway to the garage, where there used to be a bump. Jellison?s has a great team of workers and I have no complaints about the job itself, so I still highly recommend Wayne and his crew.

Very well, it was an old driveway, two layers of blacktop, on top of clay. When the old driveway was removed, and then the clay, they put in a class 5 base, and waited until it was ready before paving the driveway. I feel like we got a high quality driveway that will last longer than we will in that house! Wayne was always available, and explained our options every step of the way, and it is a shared driveway, so he worked with four of us to help us understand the best way to do the job.

Everything went like clock-work from beginning to end. Wayne came out and gave us an estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable and the estimate was reasonable. When it came time for the job, they showed up exactly when they said they would with Wayne giving us a call the night before to remind us. The crew was polite, hard-working and even pointed out a slab of sinking cement near our garage that needed to be lifted so that the asphalt would match up nicely. There was minimal disruption to the yard and the asphalt went in smoothly without any seams (even though they had to match up two different sections) and the edges were finished off nicely. We are very happy with our new driveway and would defnitely recommend Jellison's Best Blacktop.

I had three companies out to estimate removing and replacing my driveway. The estimates from all three were within $300. Wayne gave the best explanation of what was involved. He also always answered his phone when I called with additional questions. He kept me updated on what the timing was and they arrived on time. I had to have a tree removed that was in the way of the new driveway. I paid a tree service to have it taken down and the stump ground. When Wayne's crew arrived after the tree was removed, they found that the tree company had left a huge stump under ground. They worked to remove the rest of the stump. When I called the tree service to take the stump away, they were going to charge me another $200. The stump was still sitting by the driveway when Wayne and his crew arrived. He had his crew remove the stump and haul it away, with no extra charge to me. I was so impressed with the customer service. They are a great company to work with and will go the extra mile for their customers. I would highly recommend them.

The project went great and Jellison was wonderful. Their estimator came on time and as scheduled and was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tear and out installation were also done on time, and our new driveway looks great! We are very pleased with the service and final product we received.
