More than anything, you need a company you can trust. We at Bloomington Heating & Air Conditioning could tell you how trustworthy we are. We could tell you that we've been serving Bloomington and its surrounding communities for over 25 years and we have a great reputation and do great work. We can say and believe whatever we want, but every heating and cooling dealer pretty much says the same thing. That's why we felt we should let our customers do the talking. Description of Work: They replaced and installed our central air conditioning a few weeks ago. We did our due diligence and took quotes from several other companies, and Bloomington was very close to the least expensive. There was one company cheaper, but various other aspects of the deal made me wary of them. Bloomington was affordable, and everyone with the company was easy talk to, honest, focused on our benefit and ability to afford the replacement, and didn't talk don to us or try to upsell. The salesman worked with me to get the best deal - best in price, quality, and fitting in with our long term plans to eventually replace our heating system as well. (Both the cranky heater and the dead air conditioner were 30+ years old.) The person I talked to at the office was very flexible and rolls well with the inevitable little complications we ran into arranging payment, which took and extra couple of days and involved a last minute delay dealing with our bank. The installers were friendly, smart, strong, and hard working (several hours non-stop!) and left the house clean, without a trace of the major movement of heavy mechanical components. Except for a new, functioning air conditioner, of course. I heartily recommend Bloomington Heating and Air Conditioning. When we do replace our aging heater, I will call them first.

Description of Work: My furnace had turned off (because I had put a new filter in and did not put the door back on correctly. The heating guy showed me what was wrong and fixed it at no cost. I was finally warm again!

It went very well. We would recommend them to anybody. They were very thorough, efficient, did what they said they would do when they said they would for and the price they said they would.They weren't the cheapest, but one of the more reasonable we received.

I went out and got five bids that ranged from $6800 to $15,000 based on systems from Carrier, Trane, and Lennox. I like the features of the Carrier system the most, and it turned out that the lowest bid was from Bloomington Heating and Air for the Carrier system I liked. This was a price savings of $5,000 for the exact same system from another Carrier provider in the area. A week later they had the system installed. The space was very tight but they made it fit and they let me know of every issue prior to going and doing something, so that the end result was something we both agreed on and no surprises. Three months later when I wanted a humidifier attached to the furnace they came out and installed it at the same rate as they would have if they installed it during the first installation, saving me a couple hundred dollars. Everyone was very knowledgeable and overall nice people. I recommended them to a friend a week later that selected them and they called personally to thank me for the referral (I don't remember if they gave me a referral gift). Overall they were probably the best contractors I have worked with, and I have worked with a lot.

CHUCK SHOWED UP AND EVALUATED OUR AIR CONDITIONER (WE THOUGHT WE WOULD NEED TO BUY A NEW ONE), BECAUSE THE UNIT KEPT BLOWING FUSES. WE HAD A DIFFERENT COMPANY OUT A YEAR PREVIOUS WHEN A FUSE BLEW AS WELL. CHUCK KNEW THE PROBLEM WITHIN SECONDS. THE PREVIOUS A/C PERSON HAD TOLD US THE WRONG FUSE SIZE FOR THE UNIT, SO WITH THE HOT TEMPERATURES WE WOULD KEEP BLOWING FUSES UNTIL WE PUT THE PROPER TYPE IN. HE WAS ALSO VERY HELPFUL IN EXPLAINING THE NEW TAX CREDITS WITH DIFFERENT UNITS AND WHEN WE SHOULD REPLACE THE UNIT.

I OBTAINED ESTIMATES FROM 4 DIFFERENT COMPANIES WHO EITHER INSTALL BRYANT OR CARRIER FURNACES AND A/C (BRYANT AND CARRIER ARE THE SAME PRODUCTS WITH 2 DIFFERENT NAMES). BLMGTN HEATING & AC'S ESTIMATE WAS THE LOWEST OF THE FOUR, BUT I DIDN'T HIRE THEM BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN THEM 2 DAYS TO DO THE JOB, AND I COULDN'T TAKE THAT MUCH TIME OFF. IT TAKES THEM LONGER BECAUSE THEY ARE A SMALL 2-MAN COMPANY.
