They were supposed to suck up the water, and put down a antibacterial agent to kill and get rid of future problems with any mold or sewer bacteria and micro organisms. After they did the work, I hired a company to inspect the basement. They came to find that my basement was dangerously covered in bacteria in spots. There were clearly spots that were not done, which should have been done. They were very difficult to work with. They gave me 2 options to resolve the situation, and only insisted that one would work, after they did the work. They then refused to come back to fix everything because I apparently chose the wrong option. They told me that I refused to tear out the carpet and walls, so they refused to come back. I have had to call the city to try and get them to come back out and help. Overall, this has been a nightmare.
Description of Work: They were to help me with a sewer backup problem. The water came into my finished basement, and they were to remove the water.

I had to supervise them constantly. They would never give me an itemized bill. They are now putting a lien on my building because I will not pay, but they would never give me an itemized bill. I would not recommend them.

My experience started okay, but went downhill. STOP contractors said they would arrive within 24 hours but did not arrive until about 72 hours later. Once there the contractors were friendly, the management office became the problem. The expected estimate for actual repairs never came, but a bill for approx $469.00 did. On the bill was a note to call Matt Davis with questions. I asked Matt for two things, 1)an estimate for actual repairs and 2)pricing policies on service times. Matt said he would contact me on my cell once he reviewed the case...never called and never sent the estimate. No one at STOP would answer the question, instead of trying to help me understand my bill they sent letters threatening legal action if I did not pay. I told them to clarify my bill and I would be happy to pay. No clarification has been forthcoming. I don't like to pay bills that are not clear to me, but may need to this time rather than deal with further hassle. I do not recommend this company.
