I am the type of guy who wants to do everthing myself as long as I can get the proper equipment. I cleaned the basement after the flood I had. about 6 in of sewage water in my basement. Yuck!!. I started to take up the tiles in my basement after one of the cleanigs but my time was cut short because my mother became very il . after 6 weeks the basement had a strong mildew smell creeping up the stairs. I knew I had alot of work todo. I myself working seven days had little time to do this and the proper equipment.. I knew I probably coulld get the smell gone but I am ready to finish my basement and dont want any problems after the walls are up, or in the future so I decided after much convincing from my wife that I would have it professionally cleaned . Jason at TCR CAT answered all my questions about 10xs because I hate spending that much money. I also can be a jerk and short temperd with a salesmen who thinks he is smarter than you and trys intimidate s you with his knowledge and big words.People like that I show the door or just simplifie there answers like no big deal. He was respectful even though i exactly wasn't. I am all ways skeptical. After he left I did my research on the company , the salesmen and their methods, all legit for a very good price. The workers were very kind ,consideret and knowledgeable. The basement is done and mold and mildew free. They did a great job.
Description of Work: Took up old tile where flood/ sewer water was causing a mildew smell in my basement . Worked around and moved my stuff to treat areas. Acid washed the basement floor and bottom half of wall where flood went to. Ran floor fans(5 of them) ,an air scrubber and a uv air sanitizer and smell control system for 5 days. And then fogged the basement.

Description of Work: I used Total construction for a kitchen demolition. My old kitchen was built in 1950 with heavy soffits, gypsum lath walls and a particularly difficult mosaic tile floor. The team worked extremely fast, hauled all the debris away and left the space ready for reconstruction and remodelling. I was extremely happy with this job well done.

My grandparents' house was affected by Hurricane Sandy down at the Jersey Shore. We had 3 feet of flooding in the ground floor of the house, which meant the water levels were about 15 feet above normal and 5 feet above the 500 year flood plain. With almost every house on the block having some sort of flood damage, it was nearly an impossible task to get a company on the phone in the days after the hurricane who had time in the next 3 weeks to come help. The lack of power hindered some of the smaller companies who required it before coming to render their services. We had managed to get all the debris and majority of the demolition work done in the days immediately after the hurricane to prevent further water damage or mold growth. The company we had originally contracted to do the demolition and drying and mold remediation flaked out after the demolition, never to be seen again. In the aftermath of the cleanup, with so many contractors running around (and some not being very reliable) we got really lucky with Jason and TCR. Our neighbors 3 houses down had this big bright blue van in its driveway that said and quot;TCR CATand quot; (TCR Catastrophe Team). I walked over to see an army of people helping clean out my neighbors' finished basement. I was able to track down Jason (the owner) and asked him since he was in the neighborhood if he could work on our house as well. It definitely helped that I had most of the demolition done and that I had secured a generator (thanks to a generous neighbor) so his team could get started right away. We had done what was called a and quot;modified remediationand quot; because we only needed his company to clean, dry and spray the mold inhibitor (plus dehumidify, and scrub the air both downstairs and upstairs) -- we hired separate contractors to put the drywall, etc. back. We didn't have flood insurance, so Jason took this into account when recommending his services -- basically we did the minimum required for a safe, dry and mold-free environment. It was well worth the cost. Jason and his crew finished doing the demo of the ground floor, removing the water heater and boiler, and gutting the bathroom. They then went to work on power washing, then heating/drying/dehumidifying the area (which took about a week) before they were done and on to the next job. I can't say enough about the professionalism and attention to detail which is required with mold remediation specialists. He was able to clearly describe what he needed to do so even my grandmother could understand what was happening. He was easily reachable and accessible for any questions or concerns we had and was very helpful through the entire process which was extremely stressful for a lot of people at the time. This review is many months overdue, but can't say enough good things about Jason and his company. Next time disaster strikes, if you see a big blue van in your neighbor's driveway, know that good help is near.
