DO NOT HIRE!!!!! This company will do the WORST work, use the lowest quality materials ( after charging for a higher quality) demand early payment, take your money, and never finish the job! I have to take these guys to court to try to get my money back. DO NOT HIRE!!! I have never seen such unprofessional work in my life and have only heard rumors of contractors taking off after getting paid - these guys are CROOKS!

So Rick did my parents floors a while back and did a very nice job at a really attractive price. My parents liked his work so much that they used him again for their master bedroom. They referred Rick to a friend who did not have as good of an experience, but I will leave that part alone since I wasnt involved at all. So to my story- I needed someone to come and install some flooring and clean some carpet that a renter trashed in my rental property. Rick came and had very attractive prices. He also did a bunch of handyman work around the house, and overall I think I spent about 1500 when the project was over. If that was the end of it, I would be singing Rick's praises... because the floors looked great and he did everything he said he would do in the time allotted. He even saved us a boat load on supplies because I went to home depot with him and he found some beautiful flooring at rock bottom clearance prices. But sadly for us all it did not end there. Rick realized that we also likely needed a new roof and he saw dollar signs. I trusted him because he did really good work on the rest of the house and he said he could save us a bunch of money by using his roofer friend to get the job done. This is where the shenanigans began. Rick started in with this song and dance about how he needed all this money up front (DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN MONEY UP FRONT EVER). Then he overquotes me by nearly 75% on the square footage for the materials, but luckily we caught that. I should have fired him right then. So he brings this person over and the end result was horrible. Crooked cut edges in several places and no matter how many times this dude came over, he could not get it right. He eventually just gave up and walked away from the job. So we went to Rick and demanded he make it right and find someone to fix the crap job that this guy did and Rick just shrugged his shoulders and asked for the rest of his money (WHAT A JOKE!) So then I had to bring in another company to fix the mistakes and they informed me that the entire roof was shingled incorrectly. So we had to redo the whole thing. And do you think Rick is willing to give me back my money? Please! Its a shame really because I would have used Rick for all the work I am going to need in my new house I just purchased, but there is a fatter chance of pigs flying than that happening.
Description of Work: Laminate flooring installation (one large room) Carpet cleaning (two rooms) Minor handyman repairs Power wash house and garage Replace and paint rotten trim Roof re-shingle

Rick and his son arrived on a Sunday to move the furniture, we slept on the box spring and mattress in the living room during this process. He arrived early the next day, sanded one floor and left for the rest of the day. The next day he spent time sanding one more floor, and left again. Since he had assured us both that he was not doing another job at the time and would be finished in one week, I contacted him and fired him! He pleaded and said no more wasted time. Again, he left early stating that the floors needed time to leach out the old finish!!! Really, the floors are dry and over 45 years old! Finally, he got the hint we were not happy and brought in two guys he found somewhere. One did not speak english. The other was the translator and spent the week sanding six steps, never getting near a corner, cutting a sharp seam into the wall and not going anywhere close to the bannister. Rick then slopped finish on the steps, with runs down the backs of the steps and down the wall. It was necessary to have them redone and the stairway walls painted. He did not bend down to finish sand the floors under the baseboard heaters and not the shred the swifter pads. All baseboards were badly beaten by his sander and there are chips on the window sils and door jams from the machine and his carelessness as well. The moldings he needed extra money for were lose and we made him redo most of them, he then slapped some dark colored sealer over each nail hole and now we have speckled molding that still flapps in some areas. He ran two days later than predicted, worked as he wanted and when he felt like it and did not do even a poor job, my doors have brush marks on them, the walls are painted by him and there is nothing to be proud of. We were tired of the mess and his unprofessional manner, we just wanted him OUT. We hired this company because our neighbor was using him. He asked how we liked our floors, we said "hate 'em" His reply...ME TOO!
Description of Work: We had two sets of stairs, 6 each; to be refinished, floors of a foyer and 4 bedrooms to be refinished and squeaks removed or improved. Rick agreed to move the furniture to the master bedroom and do three bedrooms first, the relocate the furniture and complete the job. All this was to be completed in one week. He requested 75% down for this job and came back in less that three days asking for $400 more so he could change the moldings and have them stained before installation.
