Wilson's Floor Sanding Service

I cannot say enough complimentary things about Wilson's Floor Sanding Service. I have had a coupon from this company for months, but was hesitant to have the work done because everyone I know who had floors sanded and refinished complained about the mess and dust. I can say without hesitation that THIS IS NOT THE CASE with Wilson's Floor Sanding! We did seal all closets and cupboard doors in the treated area with blue painter's tape, but there was a negligible amount of dust ANYWHERE. The company does everything they say they do and more, are kind, polite, and respectful.. When we locked in a work date Jeff advised me that his wife Lisa would call a week in advance to confirm, and she did. They arrived 10 minutes early...right on time in my book, and were done with the first days work in less than 3 hours...AMAZING! Ryan came the second day, buffed the floors, and applied a second coat...again no time involved, very professional, and the floors looked better than new. The next day we decided we wanted a third coat, although Jeff assured us two coats was plenty. The following Tuesday (amazingly soon for a last minute request) Ryan reappeared (on time, as always), and applied a third coat, which turned out beautifully. (We have very heavy traffic patterns in our small house, and were concerned about the wear.) Oh yes, and the price for this extra work and scheduling? I can only describe it as nominal...less than I would charge, considering the fact that they had to change their schedule to accommodate us. Jeff also supplied us with an exhaustive list of information about the product used (low VOC, 40% solids, which was 10% higher than anyone else we interviewed for the work), the best products to use for floor care, and tons of info about caring for the floors. Seriously, what more can you ask? We are in our sixties, and dealing with these things gets harder as you age. While I can't say there were no inconveniences, NONE were caused by Jeff Wilson and his fine crew. And the price? So low, we couldn't believe it. In 43 years of marriage, we have dealt with many, many contractors, and I can say that Wilson's WAS THE BEST EVER. My wife is a perfectionist... very, very difficult to please, and she couldn't be happier. Would I hire them again? ABSOLUTELY.

Called about the end of June for an estimate and received a quote of 1.75sq ft, scheduled an appt. for 07/19/2012 someone called on 07/13/2012 to confirm my appt. I had all furniture removed from two bedrooms, carpet and tacks removed. my home was a mess and guess what, I did all of that for nothing no one from this company showed up nor did they even call and cancel I had to miss a day of work for this just for them not to show up .( DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS NON PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS} AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!

They gave me phone quote and scheduled the job. It was a small job, so there was a little problem with on time arrival, but nothing major. I was a work in. They did the sanding and one coat one day and came back to do the 2nd coat the next day. did a great job

I was shocked when i called for them to come out and give me an estiment. He told me it would be a flat rate of $1.50/sqft for sanding and 2 coats of poly. The price was good and better than all of the other quotes I hade gotten however i was a little put off by the fact that he was not going to come out and look at the job. I am the type of person that I like to meet people before they work for me to get an idea of how they are going to be. A few days later i was talking to a co worker and they said they had Wilson do some work for them and loved them. So I decided to give them a shot and glad I did. Top notch work, great price and friendly service. I will use and recommond Wilsons for all of my future flooring needs.

He called to reschedule to push my appointment back a week. I explained how it was a big inconvenience. He hung up. He told me we were disconnected. He also told me that I could find somebody else to do my floors. Nobody showed up a week later on August 1st. They didn't answer or return my calls. He had one price listed and when you would call him he would say a different price. He should be more truthful and courteous to his clients and potential clients.

I called Wilson's (after finding them on Angie's List) after not having any success with Mohawk floors. They were able to schedule me within 2 weeks of my call. They told me to call Sonny's Hardwood Floors for carpet removal and floor prep. I called Sonny and was able to schedule him the day before Wilson's was set to sand/finish my hardwood floors. On the day promised, Sonny and his assistant showed up and removed the carpet from 3 rooms and prepped the floor for Wilson's team scheduled to arrive the next day. The next afternoon, Wilson's 2 man crew arrived and sanded the floor and put the first coat of finish on the 3 floors. The next day, they took less than an hour to apply the second coat and complete the job. Any issues either contractor had, they kept in contact with me. They showed up when scheduled and performed the work to my satisfaction all the while being polite and professional. I would recommend them highly and use them in the future.

We wanted to get this done as soon as we moved into our house. I called on a Saturday night to make an appointment (not expecting to get a call back until Monday), but he called me back on Sunday morning and we set up an appointment right then and there. Jeff quoted me $1.50/sq ft, and everyone else quoted me $3.25 or $3.50/sq ft, so it was a no brainer. We are really happy with the results, our floors look great! Jeff and his team were punctual, focused, efficient, and professional. I would definitely use them again!

All things considered, Wilson exceeded all my expectations. This is a first rate, no-nonsense operation.

Called and was given a quote of $400. Scheduled an appointment for approximately two weeks away. Someone called to confirm the appointment about a week before. The crew showed upon the scheduled date and on time. A phone call was recieved prior to arrival. All gaps in the floor were filled, the floor was sanded and a finish applied. The crew returned the following day to apply the final coat. Instructions were given on how to care for my refinished floors. The floor looks better than I expected. The whole process was convineient and affordable. I would highly recommend and will be using this company again in the coming months. Thank you!!

Great work making 60 year old floors look new again. I will be using them again on the rest of my hardwood floors in the near future.

I could not be more pleased with this company. They were extremely prompt, very clean and professional. Jeff (the owner) provided me with detailed instructions on how to care for the floor and recommended products to do so. The process took three days and they made it very easy for me. A great company!

I was very satisfied with the whole job. The crew took approximately 1 1/2 hours the first day for sanding and the first coat. The vacuuming was good but keep in mind that the vacuum is not a true HEPA system and a fine dust film is left behind. Most of the cleanup was eliminated by the plastic I put up to cover the jobsite, including the cabinets. The second days sanding did not generate any dust to speak of. The second days sanding and 2nd coat took approximately 45 minutes. Keep in mind that if the floor butts up to another wood floor, the floor with grain running parallel will finish very well at the meeting point and the floor butting up perpendicular will leave a chipped edge after sanding and can have the finish improved by using the Bona floor cleaning product. A perpendicular edge will not finish perfectly clean. I felt the price was more than fair and the professionalism as I expected. i would definitely use Wilson Flooring again.

I spoke with the owner by phone and he told me I should estimate the amount of flooring I had to be refinished and that the price, his current "coupon special" rate, would be $1.50/sq. ft. I moved all of my furniture out of my kitchen, 1/2 bath, pantry, and hall closet in anticipation of the work. He arrived late on the date he said he would do the work, looked at my job (which consisted of two fairly small rooms, two closets, a hallway and a foyer), claimed he "didn't have his small sander with him" and thus would need to reschedule. He couldn't get into his truck fast enough and mdash; he appeared to have decided my job wasn't worth doing at the $1.50/ sq. foot price reflected on his coupon. He had said he would call to reschedule that evening, but he didn't. I called the following day, got his voicemail and left him a detailed message - telling him I had gotten the sense he didn't want to do my job but would appreciate either confirmation of that or a call to reschedule. No reply and mdash; ever.

We called and left a message asking for a quote. Within 24 hours he returned our call he gave us a quote according to our measurements. We set up the appointment two weeks out. A day before the appointment we received a reminder phone call. The day of our appointment they arrived on-time and completed the work as promised. He answered all of our concerns and was very professional and punctual. There were some areas that did not look just right due to it being old hardwood floors. He came back and resanded no questions asked. I would definately use them again.

They explained how the process would work and what they would do each day before starting. The floors came out really well. My only issues were that they are so in demand that it took a couple of weeks to get an appointment. Also, at the end of day 1 Jeff left some very helpful tips about things I shouldn't do while the floors were drying, including run my gas dryer. Great information, but would have been even better a couple days before so I could have planned ahead and done a couple of loads before they started.

They were great. They guys were pleasant and professional. They did a great job.

Jeff showed up on time, completed the job on time, and was right on budget. He was also the least expensive of all the quotes we received.

Everything went very well -- start to finish.

He did an excellent job. The price was exactly what he quoted. He came the day he said he would. We did have some follow up questions and it took him a while to get back to us.

Very efficient and excellent work. Company had 4 workers complete the job in 2 hours the 1st day and 1 hour the 2nd day and I was able to go on to work. Was also able to walk on the floors when I arrived home. On the 1st day, the 85 year old floors were sanded to the bare wood and sealed and the 2nd day floors were sealed again. Before the work the floors were a mess with glue residue from old carpeting, uneven stain and gaps between the boards. These were all filled in and you wouldn't know they were the same floors. The final price was lower than the quote on the phone after square footage was measured. All the floors in the house were covered with painter's tarp so as not to track residue throughout the rest of the house. I couldn't be happier with the work.

I needed to have some Red Oak flooring refinished. It was in pretty poor condition. I called Jeff Wilson explained what I needed done and got an estimate over the phone for the square footage I was interested in having him refinish. It was a reasonable price at $2.00 per sq. foot., so I gave him the job. He said the estimate might have to be adjusted when he saw the job. He gave me an appointment time approximately a week later. He called about an hour before he arrived with an updated arrival time. He was within 15 minutes of his original expected appointment time. He took about 2 hours to prep and sand and put the first coat of clear finish on approximately 225 sq. ft. of Red Oak flooring. When he left, there was almost no dust residue and his team cleaned up everything. The next morning he arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected and he called ahead again. In an hour he was finished applying the finish coat to the flooring and he was gone. It looks great. I would highly recommend Wilson's Floor Sanding Service if you are looking to have natural wood flooring refinished.

Wilson's was extremely flexible in the start date due to a change in closing the sale of the house at the last minute. The workers were very professional, prompt and left the area very clean. He left a wood cleaner and instructions for use. Also said that I could call anytime with questions. And the most importnant part... the floors look beautiful.

They were easy to reach. They showed up on time and got right to work. They completed the job very quickly. The came back to seal it the next day. We are very impressed by the wonderful job. We will hire them again.

He was responsive and price was resonable but I will not hire anyone without a written agreement.

I had our wood floors refinished as part of a multi-part mini remodelling. So I called to reschedule my appointment a few times to accommodate other workmen. Jeff Wilson never flinched, and changed my appointment twice for me. They arrived when promised, performed the work quickly and efficiently and the floors look great. A couple of comments that are not fully the fault of Wilson Flooring... As part of our stairway remodelling, the existing railing, ballusters and newel post were removed by another work man. When I asked Wilson wood flooring if they could fill the holes left behind (3/4" to 2" in diameter) with wood dowels, Jeff really pressed me to go with their standard "wood-like" filler. I agreed, against my better judgement, and think I would have been happier with the repair if I had insisted on the real wood. Also, because the stairs had to be sanded by hand, instead of with their machine that has the vacuum attached, there was a bit more dust in the house than I expected. If you don't have doors you can close to keep the dust out of the house, you might want to consider hanging some plastic and taping off the doorways.
