Precision Garage Door of Southeast Michigan

We've used Precision Door for years and always been pleased with the results. In 2010, they completely replaced our cheap 20-year-old builder-supplied garage door and a more recently manufactured garage door opener. This time, I called about noon and made an appointment for 5-7 pm. When someone became available before 2pm, however, the technician called and asked if I would like him to come out sooner. He performed a 22-point safety inspection and determined that the circuit board was not working, probably due to one of several recent power hits in our area. He offered to install a surge protector that would prevent most similar damage in the future, a feature we did choose to add. It took less than an hour to complete the work. The standard service fee was $75 which included labor. We paid $189 for the circuit board and $45 for the surge protector. There is a 90-day warranty. The cost for the parts may be a little higher than other service providers but we feel that it's worth it because Precision uses higher quality parts than many other companies.

No service preformed, but very responsive during inquiry.

Precision Door Service was the garage door repair open on a Sunday. There was an immediate answer to our phone call and we were warned about the emergency service fee. The technician called us back promptly and told us when he would be here and that there would be and emergency service fee. Jim fully explained what needed to be done and why. He worked quickly and carefully. He was done in about 90 minutes. I wish I had looked through Angie's list for a coupon, but I suspect it would have cost about the same, ultimately.

Initally I called Precison Door to repair my existing garage door. When the repairman arrived he showed me several rusted and broken springs. He told me that it would be a waste of money for him to repair them because with any luck they would only last for another year. He went over a couple of options with me, finally I decieded to replace the door.The repairman called his supervisor to explain the issue, and orderd a new door. Within a week my new door was installed, it works and looks great.

It turned out wonderful. Their service was good. The people in the office were very pleasant and kept me up to date on what was going on. There was an initial issue with one of the sensors. They came back and replaced that. They were able to apply the amount of the Big Deal to the replacement door.

Their service turned out very well. They were great to work with. They were punctual and got to the job quickly. They were able to come out the day after I called them and they took care of everything. I was very pleased.

They were quick to respond. They did a good job for us.

Jeff called prior to arrival and was right on time. Prior to telling me what was wrong, he listened to me and went right to work Jeff corrected my error and fixed the problem. As well as preformed a complete safety check.

First time came in and took care of the door maintenance, which was the Angie's deal. This went well. Unfortunately, the additional work did not go well, at first. The technician did not wire my opener back up correctly and the lights did not go on and off at the correct times. In addition, he replaced my $5 push buttons with $60 hi-tech buttons (2 of them). My fault was just writing a check without looking closer. He left me with a bitter taste in my mouth for Precision Door. But, Precision Door did everything they could to rectify the situation. They sent out another tech right away and fixed the opener lighting issue. In addition, they adjusted my price and gave me a credit for the unexpected high-priced buttons. Their goal was to please the customer and they did! Things go wrong sometimes, but it's good to work with a company that will stand behind their motto of customer satisfaction.

The service man, Russ, arrived ahead of scheduled time and was very professional. He explained the work he was doing and showed us how to do routine maintenance on the door. He was very polite and cleaned up after work was done.

Refurbished one garage door that isn't working now for unknown reasons.

Good. On time, very informative, neat. The total service took about 1 hour.

I was in a bit of a pickle and Precision Garage Door came through. They were responsive, got me taken care of the same day that I called, the service tech was professional and knowledgeable, and the overall service experience was great. The only reason for the B rating is the price. For what should've amounted to an hour of labor (~$75) with many of the other contractors I've worked with, ended up being $220!! And the only reason I paid $205 was because I had a coupon from Angie's list for $15 off. For what took the guy literally 10 minutes, cost me $205, which is absurd. I understand that they have a business to run, overhead, etc., however I don't think it justifies that cost. The $220 was calculated by saying: $75 just to show up PLUS an additional $145 for what the tech described as "Re-wind and re-tension" or something similar - basically a fixed price for a bundled set of labor tasks. So, they did not roll the "$75 to show-up" in to the cost of the repair (which had zero parts required, all labor) in to the final price of the service, which is what I would have expected. Even if it was just the $145 I would still think it was an insane cost for the amount of work/time involved for the repair. The only reason I paid it was because I needed a garage door that shuts and didn't have the time to figure it out on my own before dark/night that day. Despite everything else that was right about the service I received, I would only consider using Precision Garage Door again if I cannot do it myself or find another contractor whose prices are more reasonable.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was excellent. My garage door works great now so they did a good job.

It went well. The installer was very professional.

The Precision Garage Door reps were great. When I asked them how to get reimbursed as they were unable to perform what I paid for - they referred me back to Angie's List. My problems occurred when I tried to get a refund from Angie's list. I was informed that it would take several weeks for a refund to be issued. I was very upset that I woiuld have to wait for reimbursemnt as I pay for a service immediately, and when it is not performed, I have to wait for a refund. I truly am not certain I ever received a reimbursement. Possibly you could confirm that Ione was issued?

They were able to schedule a same day appointment to fix my garage.The repairman came in and accessed the situation and told me what was needed. He was very thorough and gave me the short range (quick fix) and long range (longer lasting) options according to my pocketbook. There was no pressure but enough info for me to make an educated decision, which I really appreciated. I had already done some previous research, so he was right on the mark. He also gave instructions on proper maintenance of my garage door. He was professional, kind, quick and efficient. .

Quickly responded to request for quote. Arrived later that week and performed the work all within a week. Very capable team. A little pricey for one garage door section, but their responsive was the best.

It went very well. Took the time to explain what I needed and what I did not need. Very happy with his service.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did a lovely job and I was satisfied. They did exactly what was in the deal. My door is actually covered by my condo association and I did it for a noise reduction. It was a great deal and they gave me some advice. They were prompt and on time. They cleaned up. I would recommend them to other Angie's List members. I have no complaints with anything they did.

Garage door was making a loud banging noise. The door opener track was worn and door out of alignment. Recommended replacing the opener and springs. All work was done quickly and professionally.

Not only did he provide excellent service, he also educated me on proper care of the garage door/opener. He was very knowledgable and efficient.

Precision Garage Door were fabulous. They were excellent, we were so impressed. We were there just for the weekend, so I called them on Saturday thinking I would leave a message, there was someone there, she said they could send someone out on Sunday, she followed up 10 minutes later with an email and a photo of the guy that was coming. I was very impressed with that. They guy came when they said he would and he did a great job. I would highly recommend them. I thought they would take a few weeks and I thought them sending the photo was really nice, I have never seen that before.

They did a really good job. I liked them. The only thing is that they try to upsell you. Other than that, they were really good. They were quick to respond.

The repairman from Precision was very professional, on time and thorough. He installed a new spring and lubricated/adjusted the rollers and I've had a trouble-free garage door ever since. I would highly recommend Precision Door.
