They did fine. They were professional and prompt.
Description of Work: We've used them more than once for our AC and heating. They also recommended and installed a new thermostat for the house. They showed us how to use it and they were very good about that.

The experience was excellent. They were very professional and good. The office girl reminded me I had a coupon that I had forgotten about. After they fixed one drain, two days later the other one clogged up; so they came out and had taken that out. I forgot about the coupon, so she reminded me and I used the coupon for that one.

I contacted Andy's Statewide on a Thursday because my air conditioner wasn't working after a thunderstorm and power outage. When I called Andy's Statewide, Tiffany answered the phone and was very polite and sympathetic when she scheduled an appointment for the first thing the next morning. Mike was the technician who called within the 8-11 window to let me know he was 5 minutes away. He checked all the basic problems and found that the fuse box switch needed to be reset. This hadn't worked for me! Anyway, the furnace and air conditioner started right up. Mike did my scheduled maintenance work while he was there. Because I invested in the maintenance program there was no service charge. What a pleasant surprise. Mike was very thorough and friendly. This service and the professionalism of staff is the reason I have been doing business with Andy's Statewide for several years.

In response to a "featured provider" email received from Angie's List stating the member should call the Andy's Statewide for discount details, I called for A/C service and was told by their representative that they were offering a free service call valued at $89. All I needed to do was print out the Angie's List Coupon and have it on hand for the serviceman upon arrival. When I went to Angie's List, there was no such coupon, nor was there on Andy's website. I called Angie's List to find out where to print the coupon. Their service rep couldn't find it, checked with his manager who could not find it either. I then called back Andy's to explain the confusion and was told that their representative had made a mistake and the best they could offer was $50 off service performed PLUS the $89.00 service call, and that they could not honor the öriginal "mistaken" offer given over the phone. I told them that any business on Angie's List should honor whatever offer their representative told a potential customer. That's why I joined Angie's List!!!He was unperturbed and mumbled an apology. End of story. As for Angie's List representatives, they were very helpful and are still looking into the matter at the management level and have said they will report back to me. I am pleased with the effort and professionalism they have provided in helping to resolve the issue.

The salesman was responsive and excellent. He explained a variety of options and the pluses and minuses they carry. There was initially a "today only price!", which I generally hate, but when I objected he let us sleep on it without forfeiting that price. We bought it the next day. The installer was excellent. It was a snowy winter day, so things got a smidge behind in coordinating the sheet metal truck, but he kept at it and did a really wonderful installation. I pointed out a couple of changes I would prefer, and he made the changes, no problem. He cleaned up appropriately and left us a nice furnace, a major improvement on the previous one.

The scores given above are mediocre because they represent an average score over time. The work that was done by Nathan on 5/25/2012 was fantastic, he did is best to get us back to an operational system. Unfortunately, his efforts uncovered poor work in the past. In 2003, Andy's Statewide replaced our original AC installed by them when the house was built in 1999 with a new unit. The new unit was a high-end Bryant - dual speed with Puron coolant. Last year, the fan motor went out on the external heat exchanger and a technician from Andy's installed a new motor at a cost of $436. While investigating poor cooling performance this year, Nathan discovered that the coils in the furnace had fairly extensive corrosion and would need to be replaced. Given that last year the system was then 8 years into a 5 year warranty , we really can't understand why the technician who replaced the fan motor last year did not evaluate the entire system and let us know that the coils were corroding, and that cost of the repair could very likely be lost within the next year or two because the entire system would likely need replacement. We were given an estimate for replacing the whole unit at that time, but since we were not told about the impending failure of the coils, replacing the fan motor seemed to be the most prudent choice. We have had maintenance people like Nathan that deserve all A's. At the other end of the spectrum, the person who installed the system in 2003 was so poorly trained that he failed to configure the thermostat correctly. When the heat came on in November, the air conditioner came on also, and the air conditioner cooled faster than the furnace heated. The furnace was useless until he came back out for a service call 3 days later. At that point, he decided that the thermostat was defective and was ready to send it back. It was not until I showed him the instructions in the installation manual for configuring the DIP switches that he was able to fix it. We already switched to another company when we upgraded our furnace two years ago. We are about to switch to the same company to handle our air conditioner replacement.
Description of Work: This review covers multiple maintenance visits of our centralized heating and cooling system over time.

They are very professional and the stuff looks better than I would do in terms of the plumbing, wiring, drains and the running of the lines. I have a farm here so I don't need a building permit but they still insisted on a building permit. They are known around here as a company that does exceptional work and I will use them again in the future. They had two guys out here who even put their little booties on to go in my basement and they were very prompt.

When I called for service, they came out right away. The technician was very patient, knowledgeable, tried to give me all of the information about the unit that had broken down, and all of the information about purchasing a new unit. He could have fixed the unit, but it would have cost a third of the price of a new unit. He gave me a lot of information on a specific unit. They were willing to come out the next day on Sunday for the install. After I researched it online, I learned that the unit he was giving me information on did not have the greatest feedback. I contacted them to cancel the appointment on Sunday so that I could do further research on additional units and companies. I got a call from them on Monday inquiring about why I had cancelled my appointment on Sunday. I explained to them how I had been doing further research on units and companies. I advised them I would still consider their estimate and scheduled another appointment. I had several appointments scheduled for the same day as I had taken the day off work to make a decision through the several estimates. We had a lot of conflicts with the scheduling on such a tight schedule and I had explained to them that I was getting several bids throughout the day and had additional errands to run. When the woman got there to give the estimate, I was heading out the door to go to the bank, but I allowed her to come in for a quick estimate. She was angry about the scheduling and that another provider was just leaving my home. She had an unpleasant attitude especially when explaining how the units are not very different from each other. She compared buying a furnace to purchasing a Ford or a Cadillac. I was very disappointed in the difference between the original service worker and the salesperson. If the service worker who came out the first day had been the sales person, I probably would have hired them for the job. The grading scale for Professionalism reflects the salesperson and not the service person.

Very prompt and professional. Their response to a furnace situation which was deemed unsafe was very timely. Both the personnel doing the inspection, and the installation were very knowledgable as to their trade.
Description of Work: They have been performing the annual service on my furnace and air conditioner for a number of years. This year at their inspection they found cracks in the heat exchanger of the furnace. They offered me several options from just replacing the heat exchanger on the old low efficiency furnace to replacing the furnace, and gave me several different options with regard to efficiency and price. I opted to have a new furnace installed. They were back out within one week and installed the new furnace in just a few hours. They took the old furnce away, showed me the features of the new high efficiency furnace. The new furnace is much quieter and should use less fuel to provide the same heat. It also has a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger, and ten year warranty on all other parts. This will give me peace of mind for many years to come.

Andy's Statewide installed our original furnace in our home 12 years, and I have periodically asked them to do service checks of our furnace and a/c unit. This year they discovered that the heat exchanger had hairline cracks, and our furnace had to be replaced. The original estimate for a two-stage Amana 115 kbtu unit was $2880. They brought the price down to $2800 when I called to make final arrangements for the new unit installation. We scheduled the installation for 9:00am a week later, and the installer showed up right on time. The installer took me downstairs to review the job and he explained that Amana no longer makesa 115 kbtu furnace, therefore they were going to replace our 111 kbtu unit with a 100 kbtu. I questioned this because a 100 kbtu unit is a 10 % reduction in capability, which is significant. The installer assured me that it would be okay because he and his boss discussed the situation and all would be okay. I asked him if they would replace the smaller unit with a larger one free of charge if we weren't satisfied with its performance. He said yes, but called his boss to confirm . The boss said that they would go ahead and install a 120 kbtu Amana unit, but that unit wasn't in local stock and we'd have to wait to install the new furnace at a later date. After a few more calls, they offered to install upgraded model (a 2-stage, variable speed) 120 kbtu unit for the same price. They installed the new unit in about 5 hours, and it works like a charm.

They did a follow up to make sure everything was running right. We had a little bit of noise going on so they were very courteous and made a recommendation for us to wait a day or two to see if it would go away because sometimes everything comes in for a while but it doesn't excel. We waited a day or two and the noise went away. They did a follow up and sent us a letter, reminding us that we needed to have it inspected by our city inspectors. They were very good and we totally appreciate it. We ordered one furnace but there was air in that furnace so they brought another one and they didn't charge us any more for it. They were neat when they came in. We are very happy with their service.

They cost a little more but well worth it. Arrived on time and completed the job in one day. All lines, vents and drains are neat and tidy and tucked out of the way, unlike the prior arrangement. Company well staffed and additional help, when needed arrived promptly (electrical to the A/C was wired incorrectly by the prior installer-and they brought the wiring back to standard).

From the beginning when we asked for a quote, we received prompt and professional service. We did not subcontract from Home Depot, but went direct. Sales took a lot of time to help us pick out the proper furnace, humidifier and air cleaner. We received a full discussion about the various types of furnaces - two stage, etc. The price was competitive- maybe on the high side but we felt we were getting a higher level of service and a long term relationship. They worked directly with our township on pulling permits and helped us apply for the variance (who knew that an air conditioner unit required a variance!) The installation team arrived on time. They were possibly the most professional team we have worked with during our renovations. The level of quality in the installation and all the surrounding work (plumbing) was beyond expectation. They gave us a full description of the furnace, walked through the thermostat programming, demonstrated the air filter cleaning process and the humidifier cleaning process. Because of our crazy township rules, we were not able to install the air conditioner at the same time, but the team is working with us to ensure that we have a cool summer in our house!. They worked directly with Consumer Power to apply for the rebate - so nothing to do on our end. They even reminded us to keep certain documents for our tax rebate.

My old furnace (ca 1988) was on the way out, as the blower was gradually dying (noise, occasional smell of electrical burning). I was referred to Andy's Statewide by Home Depot. Their price was essentially the same as a competing quote for an equivalent Amana furnace, but included more work (competing quote did not include chimney liner or humidifier). So I went with Andy's. I signed on Friday, and the installer (Dalton, from ARS) installed the furnace on Monday - very quick turnaround, I thought. The installer was professional and courteous. He worked diligently and to all appearances, very carefully. He cleaned up well. He took the time to answer all my questions, and even made a few changes mid-project at my request (e.g. installing vibration dampers/spacers under the furnace). He replaced more sheet metal than was strictly necessary, so that it would be a bit nicer-looking than a new furnace hooked right to an old duct. Everything is working great now, and the house is much more comfortable than before at the same thermostat setting, which effect I attribute to the variable speed blower. Furnace is quiet, although there is a bit more duct noise than before, likely due to the slightly larger capacity of the new furnace vs. the old unit (80 kBTU). It could be that I just hear the duct noise more because I'm not hearing the furnace itself. The only annoyance at this time is a faint but audible high-pitched whine, which is nearly constant because the variable speed blower is supposed to run all the time (varying speed rather than shutting off). This sounds to me like either a high-pitched motor whine or an airflow-constriction whistle, and I can't tell which. I will continue following that up to get it resolved. Overall my experience was excellent, and I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Installed new furnace and accessories (Installation actually performed by ARS, technician Dalton) in my house - 1800 sq. ft. above ground (2 stories) plus 200 finished/200 unfinished in basement. Rheem 95% AFUE, 90,000 BTU, Two-Stage furnace with Variable Speed Blower. Honeywell Humidifier Chimney Liner (not used by furnace, but apparently required) 3 inch PVC intake and exhaust piping Gas pipe (from main line to furnace) Condensate pump Various new sheet metal for Cold Air Return and Main Supply Trunk 1 new air duct (~10 foot run within the basement) 1 new cold air return (~8 foot run, within the basement) Digital Programmable Thermostat Permits, etc.
