I am posting this in hopes that it will prevent someone else from getting ripped off like I did. I was naive about it because I have never been ripped off before. Mike Chirri gave me an estimate on my remodeling job that I agreed to and I gave him $5,500.00 down payment. Almost a month went by before he showed up for the first time to do any work. His tools looked like brand new, unused tools (my wife has more tools than what he had). He didn't have a vehicle. I asked him how he got here. He said an Uber driver brought him because his truck broke down (I would think a legitimate contractor would have more than one vehicle). That should have been my first red flag. Not thinking too much about it, I gave him another $3,500.00 for start up. He started tearing the place apart, in preparation for remodeling. When he tore out the drop ceiling, it revealed the old drywall ceiling. He said he didn't know that was there and wanted another $2,900.00 to remove that, which I paid (should have been red flag #2). In my opinion, an experienced contractor would check for things like that before giving an estimate. One day he called to tell me there was a water leak, that he has his plumber on the way and needed me to come to turn the water off (the shut off was not accessible to him). When I arrived, he showed me the leak. I took a look at it and asked him to hand me his pliers. I tightened the packing nut and stoped the leak without turning the water off (red flag #3). After about four and a half months of coming once in a while for a few hours and excuses for not being there very much, he finally got the new drywall on the ceiling and was still in the process of calling many different plumbers to put in new shut off valves and installing two additional shut off valves that I wanted installed (I would think a legitimate contractor would have regular plumbers that they work with and not need to call around to find somebody to do the work). Finally, after three more weeks went by, he got plumber that wanted $6,000.00 to replumb the place. I told him that I don't need the whole place replumbed, I only need a few valves replaced. I signed the contract for him to do the work on September 10, 2020. On February 9, 2021 (after five months), all he had done was the unfinished drywall installed on the ceiling and the rest of the place all torn apart. I told him that I've had enough and for him to give me a refund. He did bring the cabinets, etc. on March 5, 2021, and figured out a refund of $3,600.00. After paying Mike Chirri a total of $11,900.00 for an unfinished ceiling, a few cabinets, etc. and the rest of the place all torn apart, a $3,600.00 refund is hardly adequate. I've texted him many times to ask when he is going to send the refund and all I get is a bunch of different excuses and that it will be just a few more weeks. The last time I texted him was November 16, 2021 and he said, "Almost there, I'm gonna need another week or two at the most". Of course I haven't heard from him since. Maybe Mike Chirri would be alright for some small jobs, but in my opinion, he is not capable of handling any significant remodeling job. I'm curious to hear his reaction to this review.

Hello, [Member Name Removed]. Writing as the President and one of the Founders. What you have outlined is simply untrue. I do agree and understand the frustration with some of the delays due to the problems that we ran into during the tear out and prep, along with the extra expense it would take to fix them. Unfortunately, in the construction industry, there are at times unforeseen conditions that impact a projects' duration, cost, etc. such as weather, special orders, or in this case extensive amounts of water damage, rot, outdated/faulty plumbing which is not visible until the project is well underway. I would assume that considering you're a landlord and in the property management business that you would at least be understanding of what can possibly take place during a major renovation, but I guess I was expecting too much. However, I am truly surprised you felt the need to leave such a negative and deceptive review. I'm not going to ask you to remove your review. We did everything we could to finish your project on time and on budget despite the unforeseen circumstances. After you locked us out because you didn't want to fix the code violations - your second payment was refunded. We cannot issue a full refund for everything. Including the ceiling reconstruction that was completely finished and ready for paint. And, the initial deposit/down payment can not be refunded because our company needs to be properly compensated for the products and services that had already been provided. We have not been in business for 46 years by attempting to defraud homeowners or trick them into purchasing something they don't need. What ever size or type of project, we have thousands of completely satisfied customers throughout Michigan because we don't cut corners, and most importantly, we ALWAYS focus on doing the right thing for our customers and potential customers.

Unprofessional crook stole our money. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. Got an original quote from him for $1500 for extensive repairs of damaged siding on our home. A $500 deposit had already been paid but work had to be delayed for several months due to other factors, which is fine. When we resumed the project, he came to my home to review the work before getting started, but now he claimed the quote was to replace only 3 dry rotted boards, not even including paint ! My husband could do this himself ! When we expressed surprise at the cost and changes in what he was promising to do, he left rudely in a huff. When we asked for the deposit to be refunded he gave us the run around for weeks. Needless to say, never got our money back. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.

This post is regarding an agreement that had been made with the original owner of the property, we had done work for in the past. The new work involved replacing between 6-8 upper exterior window trim boards, 2 pieces of siding and other miscellaneous repairs for $1100.00. During that time the owner was trying to sell the house. While waiting to do the work, the house was sold. We were asked by the previous owner to schedule the work with the new owners once they had moved in. A letter was mailed to them asking to contact us, so we could get them on the schedule. Since the previous owner didn’t have their contact information. This was the only way to reach out to them. They responded roughly 3 months later. At their home we discussed everything that was going to be done within the specifications of the original agreement. When it was confirmed that painting was not included because the original owner at the time had her own painter that would take care of it. I offered to add color matching and painting for an additional charge. This is when the owner became extremely rude, cursing me out and repeatedly talking over me. No interest was shown in hearing an explanation and instead a refund was demanded. After materials had already been special ordered and paid for months ago. While I'm sorry we couldn’t work things out, I find your post to be unfair and deceitful. Everything was clearly stated in the initial agreement and we were ready to honor that. But instead you choose to curse me out, for not adding a substantial service to the agreement at no extra charge. And, since I could not give you a refund. You then decided to post a negative review and bash me online. We have been serving the area for over 40 years, I trust that most readers will take your post for what it is.

Mike showed up on time and was able to repair many things in a timely fashion. These included; siding repair, rescreening a patio door, repairing two basement light fixture covers and other small projects. I would highly recommend him for home repair.

The Pella windows are beautiful and Pella is an outstanding brand. However, Allie Chirri DID NOT PAY Pella windows for the amount of 22,000. As a result, Pella windows put a construction lien on my home. Allie Chirri said he did not have the money to pay Pella, although he did since I paid cash for all the work. Consequently, I had to deal with the laywer representing the State of Michigan and the lawyer representing Pella windows (I refused to hire a lawyer on my behalf since I did nothing wrong!!!). After several months of documenting that I did in fact pay Allie Chirri in good faith that he would pay Pella, Pella removed the lien on my home and continued to pursue payment from Allie Chirri. Allie Chirri can not be trusted and I would not recommend his business to anyone. He is a disgrace to the profession. It's also worth noting that the Chirri Builders website (accessed on 10-2012) claims Allie Chirri is a licensed residential builder. I learned from the lawyers that although Allie Chirri is licensed, the homeowner has a contract with the company, "Chirri Builders" and Chirri Builders was not licensed with the State of Michigan (at that time). Therefore, me, the homeowner was not protected in accordance with the law. If it was not for the outstanding respect that Pella gives its customers, I would have been required by law to pay Pella. Allie Chirri is despicable. DOs :Insist on a itemized, timeline report of all payments made by your contractor DONT hire Allie Chirri or Chirri Builders located at 42285 7 mile Rd, Northville MI.
Description of Work: Allie Chirri and Chirri Builders were hired for a whole house indoor remodel. In particular, for this review, all the windows and door walls were replaced with between the glass blind Pella windows.

In response to the inaccurate review above. Whole house interior renovation was beautifully renovated and highly complemented on the quality workmanship by the homeowner. The Pella windows are outstanding; yes windows are only as good as the installation. That incident took place in 2009 during the crash of the housing market that caused devastation to the economy and brought the construction industry to its knees. Our business like so many others came to a halt. In good conscious, not to leave my customers hanging, I had to drain my personal savings to complete projects that we had already started including that client’s project. Regarding not paying Pella windows, we had a credit account with Pella, and due to the sour economy at that time, rendered some orders overdue. We had tried hard to have Pella accept a payment plan on the overdue; they refused and placed a construction lean on said property. I kept in communication with that client during the entire ordeal and even offered her free representation by my attorney, for Pella to release the lien, she refused. To make the story short, Pella finally agreed to a payment plan and released the lien. I can understand the disbelief of the situation by that client, but it’s the honest truth, I couldn’t have been able to manage differently even if that was my own daughter. Northville is an affluent small City. My company has been serving the community with trust, loyalty, and implacable reputation for the past 35 years with thousands of happy clients. As for that client, I apologize for the inconvenience that caused no harm, and for her to be the first ever to write such a damaging and not so accurate review on my honest and trust worthy company 3 years after the incident, is unacceptable, hurtful, slanderer and wrong.
