Took 10 weeks from purchase to installation, store experts said it takes 4 to 6 weeks. Installers did not complete the work. They showed up missing items. Called the installation supervisor (Dora), showed them the items on the itemized receipt, she still refused to honor the contract. I had to go and buy the missing hardware. Installers left all their debris, the contract specifically required them to remove all debris. The door was not installed all the way. I had to go back and caulk, redo the seals, and put the screw caps on the door. Installers tried to get extra money to remove old door. The contract required them to remove the old door. I had to remove the door. The whole experience was very unprofessional from a work ethic perspective. Will never use Home Depot Installation services again.
Description of Work: Purchased exterior double swing (French) doors with installation.

The American Woodmark brand of cabinets are very beautiful & they arrived safely. Originally we were planning to hire Home Depot to install the cabinets but their (subcontracted) price was 2.5 times what we eventually paid. Per cabinet installation price for Home Depot is $69.00 which includes 4 nails in the wall, otherwise they charge for every single cutout and opening. Trim work costs a lot extra. Our designer made some mistakes too, that could not be corrected. Something we have to live with. We also hired Home Depot to supply and install the granite. Overall it was ok, but again the subcontract company, left the edges unpolished and the whole thing dirty. Complained to granite installation company and they thanked me for letting them know but otherwise did nothing. Would not use Home Depot for any installations. Also, when working with the designers, you are working on their schedule and it is difficult to reach them at times. Also Lowes uses same cabinet companies and installers. If you decide to go with the big box stores, wait for a sale, like 10% off, free financing and buy more, get more - you will save a lot that way.

Description of Work: Home Depot's! Service, Products and All are not worth ordering from. i ordered 4 doors total. 2 storm, a front entry and a side door. long story short: they said, they'd deliver my doors but won't bring them inside. i said, this is why i am paying for delivery, so, you think i can carry these myself to the basement? i said, return the doors and refund my money, i'll get doors somewhere else. they made sure they brought them to the basement after that. anyway, one door was scratched on the glass, i sent it back, got it again and it was the wrong wood. they tried telling me, i had to pay again for delivery. i said, not happening, you can charge the company(millikan, millwork) you use, who don't inspect their products before there shipped, just as you guys don't either. i've spoken to management and nobody is responsible for anything ever. their not worth ordering from.

When I arrived at Home Depot I waited about 30 minutes to get a sales person. I asked about a in-door-louvered doorwall. I was shown a model and did not see any other model. I called back on Friday but it wasn't until Monday that I got a appointment and the estimator came out and measured and took the measurements for the doorwall. Then began a series of phone calls to find out more about the installation. I had to go to customer relations and finally had a call back from Dora who said that the measurements had not arrived, and she would reach the estimator and get back with me. My first time at the store the amout was $769.00 and installation was to be $419.00 and $30.00 for the estimator who measured who came to my house to view the situation. I have noticed a pattern such as this in many of the stores in Chesterfield Township. For the life of me I can't understand why it is legal. Don't jump on the Home Depot merry-go-round.
Description of Work: These people have perfected a circular bait and switch scheme. Upon arriving at the store there was only one window that had louvres in the door and I selected that particlular doorwall. I called a couple of days later and made an appointment to have the door measured. That same day the door wall was measured and then the next day I went to the store #2734 and discovered that particular door was a quarter of an inch inconsistent with the measurements of my existing doorwall. Later that day, Joe Vartay, the coorindinator with this Home Depot store. said there was in stock a much nicer door and would I be interested? I said no. Afterall one cycle of the scheme had been completed and I had had enough. I was sure that cycle two was just starting and I was not planning to take part.

Their price was right on the ballpark. They were good all the way. They cleaned up behind themselves and you wouldn't even know that they were here.

I first contacted them online. They responded to me right away. Within a week, they had somebody out to give me a written estimate. They showed me samples. Then, they scheduled the job pretty promptly within a couple weeks. It was all pretty efficient. They vacuumed up everything. They were very good. They left absolutely no mess. They even vacuumed up my garage even better than it had been.

Purchased a door with an accessory jamb kit for a 6'' wall. The door and accessory kit of the same brand were not compatible. I was referred to the manufacture who did nothing but say force it. I had to take the door back to the store to finally find out the kits that they stocked were for the discontinued doors that they did not stock. I then had to wait for the correct jam kit to be shipped. What a pain and a total waste of time.
