Description of Work: I walked into the store without an appointment. The receptionist had Jim Smith help me. He listened to what I needed, vinyl flooring for a workroom, and led me to the flooring that would be appropriate for my needs. I made my selection and then Jim calculated the approximate amount of flooring I would need and an estimated cost. It seemed more than I wanted to pay for a workroom floor so I thanked Jim for his time. Then he asked how much the looks of the flooring mattered to me. I told him it didn't have to be beautiful. Jim led me to the warehouse area where discontinued flooring was available for purchase. I selected flooring, not nearly as pretty as my original selection, but for 1/3 the cost. We set up an appointment for the estimator to come to my home. The estimator showed up on time, was friendly and courteous, and measured the room. He was in and out within ten minutes. I still was paying more than I really wanted to once the tear out of the glued down carpet and trim work was included. Jim said I could reduce the cost if I was able to do some of the work myself. Luckily my son was visiting. He and I removed the carpet and trim. I then swept and vacuumed the room. The installers, also friendly and courteous, showed up on time. We had done such a good job on the room the room prep time included in the quote was not needed. That cost, trim work, and removal of old carpet was removed from the invoice - a savings of over $350. I am totally happy with my flooring and the experience with McNabb. Be sure to mention you heard about the firm from Angies and request the 10% senior discount if that is applicable for your situation.

 + 0 moreCarpet that was originally purchased from McNabb at least ten years ago had rumpled in one area of the living room. I called them asking to hire them for the repair. They told me they only did repairs on products purchased from them. Because it had been so long ago my purchase was no longer on record, but they were very nice and accepted my word on good faith. I was quoted a price of $180 and I set up the appointment. The service tech called ahead and arrived on time. He examined the area to be repaired and said that he would reduce the price to $100.00 as it was a small area. He also repaired a section of the carpet on a stair that that had become loose, at no additional cost. I was very pleased with the result and the professionalism of the staff on the phone and the repair tech who did the the work.
Description of Work: Carpet that was originally purchased from McNabb at least ten years ago had rumpled in one area of the living room. I called them asking to hire them for the repair. The damaged area was restretched, trimmed and refastened. In addition, a stair was refastened.

 + -1 moreWe ordered carpeting from this company for our stairs and hallway to replace some that had been damaged. One of the upstairs rooms still had the old carpet and was undamaged. The sale person was knowledgeable and responsive. He was especially good at coordinating the color to the older carpet. The carpet was delivered to the warehouse within the promised time and was installed approximately a week later. The installers were supposed to call us the night before to advise of a general installation time but did not. As it turned out, this was not a problem as the installers arrived early in the morning when we were home anyway. We contacted the store manager and he promised to see why we were not contacted. The installers were efficient and cleaned up after themselves. We still had to vacuum some small tufts that they missed. We are very satisfied with the installation. We had looked for carpet at the store where we bought the original carpet but found that it was no longer made. The price at this store for a comparable carpet was significantly higher then at McNabb and they could not give us a firm delivery date.
