EDWARDS GLASS CO

I called Edwards Glass to discuss the possibility of installing interior storm windows in my house. They sent a guy out and he arrived on time. We discussed what I wanted and he measured my windows and told me he would give the information to his boss. I assumed that meant they would call me back with an estimate. After two weeks of not receiving a call, I called them. The person answering the phone was friendly as she was the first time I called. She took my name and number and a guy named Pat called me back later that day and left a message. On the message he said they couldn't do what I wanted, but his answer was unclear, ambiguous, and dismissive. So I called him back and left a message stating that I would like to talk about other options. He never called me back. I felt they never took me seriously, as if asking for interior storm windows was too much of a challenge so they weren't going to deal with it. Just calling me back in a timely manner and letting me know they either couldn't or wouldn't do it would have been annoying, but fine. Instead they just blew me off. Another time I got an estimate from them for replacement glass and they had a dismissive attitude and gave me an estimate that was way too high. I used this company for shower glass and mirrors when I built my house (cost about $4000). They did a good job. The amount of interior storm windows I was hoping to install would have probably cost me $10,000 or so. That is the amount of money they blew off. Apparently, the poor economy isn't hurting them too bad. I am a home inspector and people are always asking me for names of contractors. I won't be giving their name out anymore because they are just too unreliable and unappealing when it comes to communicating with the customer. And they seem to be thrown off by any deviation from basic glass/mirror installation. Having said all that, if you are willing to put up with poor service/communication, having Edwards Glass install shower doors or mirrors would be fine. Perhaps more expensive, but quality installation.

I had two very large, heavy mirrors to hang. I called Edwards and they said they could do the job with no problem. They came out and were here right on time. Two men hung both mirrors in a very timely fashion. Great Job!
