"We at Exteriors of Lansing appreciate the feedback. Service and service sales are tough and depending on time of the year, it can get backed up. If more staff is hired then when the market is slow people get laid off and it is hard to get well trained staff for temporary work. Which in the end would result in poor service causing the B ranking to change to a D. Thank you again for your feedback. "On behalf of Exteriors of Lansing we understand the headache it seems you have gone through in the past 11 plus years with your roof. We still have your file from 11 years ago, and clearly have it is documented that sears did a hack job on your roof. We have pictures and documentation that you had a chimney leak and no other current leak at that time. We corrected the leak and your chimney has not leaked since. We apologize for the poor workmanship sears created. Years later you have another leak on another area of your house from when sears installed a new roof and it seems as if you are claiming Exteriors of Lansing liable for it. We came out in 2004 and completed a $2000 repair on a chimney leak and flashing that was missing around the chimney. We apologize for your headache once again, but, sears installed your roof not us!"
Years ago when my husband and I purchased this home we were DIY crazy. We did our best but we didn't always know the right way to do things. A water stain on the ceiling prompted a call for help and a quote. Within a couple of days the roof and attic had been checked out and we had a quote for the repairs, but more importantly the suggestion was made to improve the ventilation in the attic, redo the bathroom vents as well as increase the insulation in the attic. We really appreciated the overview of the additional items we could consider doing( but we weren't made to feel that we messed up years ago doing the DIY stuff). The crew came, got right to work, cleaned up the area at the end of each day and always kept my husband and I in the loop. They worked like a well oiled machine.
The living room window was old and needed to be replaced.....but the new window had to be exactly the same because I loved the look. The old window style was no longer available and it didn't seem that the existing opening would accommodate the same style the way it would be made now. Tim did a lot of research and gave us lots of options....including expanding the opening so I could have exactly what I wanted. He took care of everything and when the window finally arrived it was so much fun to watch it being installed. It was like they had rehearsed this installation, everything was protected, all items in place, very little conversation needed and it was done!! My husband questioned the size of the trim they were using and they explained why......they were right and I enjoy my window everyday.
My husband and I have reached the point where DIY projects aren't as appealing as they used to be, so it is very important to know that we can trust and rely on Exteriors of Lansing to keep our home in good repair.
The house is three stories (the attic is finished).

I will pursue the screen door but follow through on non-standard items is a bit weak. I would do business with them again but would make certain to "lock-down" every detail.

The quote did NOT contain upcharges for hauling away the old windows, a charge for a dumpster, and etc. Their charges were itemized, reasonable, and understandable. All-in-all a pleasant experience. BTW I first met them at the Home Show at the MSU Pavilion.
We were scheduled for installation on a Thursday but received a call on Tu. asking to reschedule for the following Mon. The two man crew arrived on Monday and completed the job in a single day. It included all new window trim and window sills on the interior as well as new windows. The crew was experienced, polite, professional, and did a quality job. They cleaned up after the job was over too.
Overall excellent experience with Exteriors of Lansing. I highly recommend them.
