CARL ZATSICK CARPENTRY

Description of Work: I did not use the provider. I have decided to get 2 more quotes. Carl was very professional and prompt in getting a quote for me, but it did seem a little expensive for the small amount of work that I wanted done. In all fairness, I will get a few more quotes to compare to Carl's quote.

Description of Work: I contacted Carl in late December to get an estimate on some carpentry work. He schedlule and appt for Sat., Jan.5, 2013. He said he would call after he finished a morning job. I waited at the house all day....he never showed or called. I finally called him on Thursday to make sure I didn't get the appt date wrong. He said he was too busy to call. Thanks Carl...the rest of us just sit around doing nothing.

Description of Work: Provided an estimate for a "tear-off" and replacement of elevated wood deck with Azek/Trex. Very impressed with Carl. Very honest, straightforward, and easy to talk to. He also helped me get in touch with handymen for other unrelated small repair jobs. Ultimately I choose another contractor for the deck, mainly because of a significantly lower price from another highly-rated Angie's list deck builder who had comparable personal qualities. However, I will certainly contact Carl again for other major jobs.

Description of Work: Our deck had risen in one corner approximately 4 inches, causing major stress on the rest of the deck & steps. Carl was great. He cut down the center post & the end post. Now our deck look even again. Carl has such a wonderful personality & his work is so professional. We would not hesitate to call him again. Thanks Carl sooooo much!

Description of Work: I called Carl to get a quote for a deck and he was very quick to return my phonecall. I appreciated that he indicated upfront that he would be happy to come to our home and give us a quote but that it would be a couple of months before he could actually build our deck. We wanted our deck completed sooner than that so we did not have him come to give us a quote.

Description of Work: WE HAVE NOT CONTACTED THIS COMPANYI YET. THAT IS ON THE AGENDA FOR TOMORROW. AS OF TODAY, APRIL 16TH, WE HAVE HAD CARL OUT TO THE HOUSE TO SEE WHAT WE NEEDED. CARL IS A VERY PERSONABLE PERSON AND HE DID GIVE US AN ESTIMATE ON WHAT HE COULD DO AND THE REST WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE BY ANOTHER CONTRACTOR. WE ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT A FEW MORE OPTIONS BEFORE MAKING A DECISION. THANK YOU.

Description of Work: Mr. Zatsick provided a quote on re-building a deck. He later returned to discuss a different set of repairs to the deck. Even without a formal quote (and I'm lawyer and should know better!!) I asked him to do the job anyway. He did so, did it on time, did perfectly satisfactory work, and when it was done, gave me a very fair invoice. What more could one ask?

Description of Work: I found Carl on Angie's List. He responded promptly to my request for a quote on redo of our TREX deck. All went well until 6 months later the boards split because they were installed incorrectly. I tried to be fair with Mr. Zatsick. He denied responsibility for the problem. When I proved his installation method was at fault he responded in a hostile manner. Mr. Zatsick was real friendly and seemed knowledgeable. But when he needed to back up his work he bailed.

Description of Work: Asked Carl Zatsick to quote on a deck tear-out and rebuild. Found him to be courteous, professional and responsive to our requirements. However I went with another contractor, decision based primarily on pricing.
