Description of Work: Saw add on Angie's List for $99 chimney sweep with $100 towards masonry. Called Detroit City Sweep directly & set appointment. First appointment response was good and adequate detailed explanation of work needed was provided. Was shown cell phone video of chimney inside to support verbal explanation. Decided to have work performed as well as having gutters cleaned/repaired. | |On scheduled appointment date, work went well and all additional questions answered regarding gutter repairs. A few gutters had standing water in them and many were blocked/clogged with debris, as lawn service had damaged gutter downspout extensions. When questioned about gutter repositioning was told that some gutters had to be lowered in certain sections to offset standing water. Explanation seemed reasonable and hope this approach will eliminate future gutter issue. | |Was reassured if I had further questions to feel free to call & they would respond without hesitation. My chimney technician was Dean, who was very professional, providing thorough explanations of needed repairs and I would recommend and use him again. | |I must admit that I have never had my chimney cleaned in the 45 yrs. I've lived in my 1958 built home. I am the second owner. Despite the fact that my chimney did not have an appropriate liner, it was very well built. My call for chimney repair was initiated by a vent repair for my boiler. That service technician noticed outside loose chimney bricks & suggested an inspection. I had also noticed but felt repair could wait. Glad I followed through, as two issues (chimney & gutters) were addressed and resolved. I feel a little more confident about approaching winter months.
