Description of Work: Thoroughly cleaned gas fireplace and ensured its proper usage/working order. Was very clean, professional, and courteous!

Description of Work: At first, the technician did not show up, but we found out he had gone to a neighboring address by accident and cleaned their gas fireplace! He eventually came to our house and did a nice job.

Description of Work: Two friendly and cordial gentlemen arrived between the hours earlier agreed to. They wore shoe covers and brought in tarps to protect the floor and carpet. They inspected the firebox and chimney. They cleaned the chimney well. They climbed a ladder to the roof where they inspected the chimney from the top and took additional photos. They came back inside and went to the basement where they checked the gas line connection. The gas log fireplace had not been used for over twenty years. In a short time they had a good fire going. They showed me how to operate the dial type switch incase I had forgotten. They reviewed the photos of the chimney taken from both top and bottom. They recommended a steel cap for the furnace flue exit. They also recommended a masonry sealer be applied to the area surrounding the top of the chimney. They provided written estimates for performing the work. They also provided an estimate for installing a new gas log set and left a brochure which listed several types of log sets to choose from, if we decided to. They did what they came to do and did it well.They explained what they were doing as they did it. The price was reasonable and did not exceed what was quoted by phone before the work started. They left everything clean and neat. I would recommend this company to friends or family. There was a Angie's list special going on with a different company while I was looking for a chimney sweeper but after some research of all listed companies, I chose Detroit City Sweep based upon price, high numbers of favorable reviews and BBB ratings that graded the company highly and stated that there were NO complaints over the last three years involving Detroit City Sweep.

Description of Work: Gentleman was very nice, informed me as to what he was doing. I was upset with the fact that he found why fireplace wasnt working and didnt repair it since it was an easy fix and I thought that was part of the pricing. I had to ask him to wipe up the dust in the fireplace again, which I felt he should have done without me bringing it to his attention.

Description of Work: It seemed to be fine until I ran the first couple loads of drying. There was a lot of lint that came through the vent. I don't know if that is normal or not.
