A courteous receptionist took down our information when we called, and told us someone would be here within 30 minutes. Tyler arrived within 20 minutes, checked our thermostat, then went and checked out the furnace. After about 10 minutes he told us everything looked good, and it was a broken thermostat. He told us he would get us a quote and asked if we'd like it installed immediately. We answered in the affirmative. He returned with a thermostat and switched it out. The entire thing from phone call to him leaving took barely over an hour. Everyone we interacted with was very nice, kind and helpful.
Description of Work: Diagnosed our cooling problem as a faulty thermostat. Replaced the thermostat.

From the first contact with Pollard's phone person, to the advance phone call when the tech was 30 minutes away, to the interaction with Tyler the service tech, everything went smoothly and professionally. I've had a lot of success with Angie's A listers but this one topped them all. What really impressed me was he took the time to explain everything in a friendly manner and arrived in the exact window they said he would. Plus, he made time for everything and I never felt I was just another appointment on a busy day's schedule. I will definitely keep Pollard in mind when it comes time for furnace inspection this fall and, eventually, replacement. I gave an "NA" response for Price because I don't have any comparison on pricing this kind of stuff yet, as this was my first AC inspection. But I"m happy with the price paid for the informative, thorough, and unhurried quality service.

They were fine and meticulous but it was too much money. He was totally expressional and he fixed some stuff that the guys who installed it did not do right. He was a great guy and I just could not afford it and I trust him. He was trustworthy and professional and it worked. He came back later with the estimate to repair everything which was in the thousands. He basically wanted to replace the whole unit. He said it was a faulty unit and he tried to get the company to replace it and they wouldn’t. The estimate was like two thousand something to replace it. He was very knowledgeable, neat and very old school.

Great response and communication to setup the appointment, arrived on time, performed inspection. I asked for a quote to repair the humidifier, which I then authorized them to perform. Only minor concern was that I would have preferred to get feedback on the A/C inspection results, I had to ask and then only a very high level "all is good" update was provided. Everything else went very well, and humidifier problem was fixed. I would call Pollard in the future.

Everyone form the office staff to the installers were very polite and prompt. The office manager, Dawn, kept me updated on regular basis prior to the installation. The installers covered all the carpeted areas with drop clothes. The installation took a day and a half to complete. Pollard installed a new chimney liner as per code. Upgraded my hot water heater flue to 4 inch pipe as per code. They removed my old furnace and A/C unit. They installed a new pad for the air conditioner condensing unit outside. They also installed the new vent and intake air pipes for the new furnace and completed that installation with a very clean looking exterior air manifold. No PVC pipes sticking out of the house in different directions. They installed a automatic humidifier with an outdoor sensor. The completed installation looks very professional. Pollard provided all the necessary manuals for the new equipment and showed us how everything operated. On the first day of the installation, it was very warm and humid. The owner of the company instructed the installers to get the air conditioning up and running as soon as possible and then take care of the heating. We had air conditioning up and running by 5:00 p.m. That was very considerate. Our overall experience with Pollard Heating and Cooler was superb. The whole process from estimate to job completion was great. We highly recommend Pollard Heating and Cooling. They were not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. Pollard offers and excellent warranty package as well.

Pollard came out and talked me through an estimate for installing a forced air heating and ac system into a home built in 1926 that had previously been radiant heat. They were very professional, completed the job early and for less money than their original estimate. I have since referred them to friends.

My furnace had stopped forcing the heat. I called Pollard. They quickly set up an appt. It turns out the blower shaft had broken. The repairman explained the breakage and showed me where it had broken. He called his office about getting a part. But, my furnace is quite old and the part was no longer available. (I know this is true because I had another furnace repair service out the previous day who told me the same thing.). Pollard explained that he could replace the old part with a new direct drive blower system or I could have a whole new furnace put in. He explained the pros and cons of each choice. (The previous repair company just told me I had to replace the old furnace.). Needless to say I went with Pollard and chose to replace the old part. It wasn't cheap but a lot less than a new furnace. And, they offered a senior discount. The Pollard repairman got the replacement parts and with the help of his partner finished the job the same day. He was knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. I was thoroughly happy with the outcome.

Pollard Heating & Cooling operates with traditional "small business-family owned" values. They responded to my emergency very quickly and really made me feel like my situation was their priority. They dispatched a service technician immediately and was on-site within two hours. Throughout my experience with Pollard, everyone was very polite and professional. Offering no pressure suggestions to improve my air-flow and heat reduction to ultimately extend the life of my compressor. The owner stopped by after the work was completed to make sure everything was operating properly and that I was satisfied with their service. I will be using this company for all of my future HVAC needs and recommend them.

I signed up for the A/C tune up. They contacted me and advised me that due to the cold weather a proper A/C would be inconclusive. They offered a furnace check instead, plus they offered to fill out a DTE rebate check for me once completing this check up. Thus costing me Less in the long run. I appreciated their honesty about the A/C qualifications. They were punctual and professional. My only complaint is super tiny. He didn't have little booties to go over his shoes (however they did not look muddy or dirty). He first asked me if I had any specific problems with the furnace then he did a thorough check. He showed and explained different parts that were possibly culprits for future problems. He fixed the problem we had with our furnace (which I initially thought was from the A/C, who knew.) Great experience and I will definitely use them again.

He was punctual and did a thorough inspection of the inside and outside portion of the air conditioner. I felt he was honest and did not try to sell me service that wasn't needed. I did point out a concern I had about the vent stack and made an appointment for a repairman to return to fix it. The charge was reasonable and the repair was done well. All in all, a positive experience.

I purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal for this service, but we were not sure of what he told us. He looked at our HVAC unit for about two seconds and told us what was wrong with it and that he could come back out and put coolant in it and how much that would cost. He went on to say we should buy a new unit and then left. He had a machine and aimed it at the thing. He said we did not have enough coolant because we had a leak somewhere and for them to look at the problem, it was going to cost us more money. He basically came out to tell us that if you really want us to look it is going to be more than $59. We did not feel real comfortable. He was a nice guy, but he really did not get us anywhere. He was very responsive and called and said they were coming. There was nothing about the person in particular that made me feel uneasy, I just expected them to look at more stuff. I felt like I was at the mercy of whatever he said, and they did not take very long looking at it. He also was punctual.
Description of Work: I used Pollard Heating And Cooling to check our HVAC system.

Pollard was excellent. They were very easy to schedule with; they called within two days to schedule. The technician was right on time. The technician was very courteous and informative. He explained what he was doing while performing the 19 point check. He also made some suggestions for work that I might need to have done in the future. Pollard has gained a new customer; we will be using them in the future. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Pollard came out and performed a check up on my A/C. This was for the Big Deal I purchased. They also added some Freon and I paid extra for that.
